Grandson’s first cruise

The check in at the airport was effortless. The transfer of luggage straight to the ship was very much appreciated. This was our 3rd cruise to the Caribbean and our grandson’s first. Also our first time with P & O. The ship was magnificent and our grandson’s first word on leaving the transfer bus was ‘awesome’. Our cabin steward (Ritesh) was brilliant as were the table waiters (Biswajit and Manza). The food served was lovely but the we thought the choice was a little bit limited (we were club dining). We were disappointed there was no midnight buffet. We booked a P & O trip for our grandson’s 9th birthday. It was the Pirate Cruise on the 9.2.2015 (his actual birthday). It was very expensive for what we got (?œ42 pounds for each adult and ?œ21 for Lucas). We got a coastal cruise and were shown places where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed and then we were dropped of on a beach for a ‘treasure hunt’ for the children. The treasure was cheap plastic toys and not all the children got one. There were no facilities on the beach, nowhere to sit and it was quite dirty. On the boat we were served either water or juice. Very poor. The entertainment of the boat was very good but rather repetitious. All the acts brought onto the ship performed twice each during our 2 weeks holiday. The music on the outside decks was extremely loud and I heard others people complaining.
