Lowering of standards

Have just returned from Caribbean to Southampton cruise on Azura and whilst we generally enjoyed the cruise, the overall standard being provided by P & O is clearly dropping, it was more akin to “Butlins” than a 4 star luxury presentation.
Whilst the standard of P & O service to the customer has not deteriorated (in fact we could not fault it), the quality of food and general standards have gone down hill over the past years: 3rd rate entertainment (except for one or two acts), lack of interesting presentations during at sea days and a distinctive lowering of standards when it comes to food. Where we used to get a full silver service presentation in the restaurants for the evening meal, we now get a meal which is grossly misrepresented by the menu, two slices of venison and a thimble full of gravy does not represent a “Venison Hot Pot”, main dishes are already presented with one variation of potato, the silver service now consists of one additional green vegetable and again an additional variation on a potato ( what quality chef would produce such a menu!!!).
Perhaps it was just the ship, last year we cruised on “Adonia” and could not fault it at all, it was fantastic but if this recent “Azura” cruise had been our first, I doubt we would cruise again.
We are taking a cruise on “Oriana” later this year and we will wait and see what that one is like, surely it can’t be any worse!!!!
