Wonderful scenery, wonderful ship!

We left Southampton on the last day of August. The weather forecast for the next few days was not good, so we prepared for the worst. Waterproofs, brollies etc. The sea was a little rough on the day up to Norway, but not too bad, plenty to do on the ship, and no shortage of deckchairs!! It rained while we were in Stavanger, but as we had a visit to the Petroleum Museum planned, it really didn’t affect us at all. Museum excellent by the way, well worth a visit.
The rest of the week, the weather was really good, visits to Skjolden, Olden and Bergen took place in bright sunshine. The scenery was outstanding. I have wanted to visit Norway for many years, and was not at all disappointed. The views of mountain, forests, lakes and a glacier were spectacular.
Azura was also very good. Having travelled on most of the major cruise lines, Azura did not disappoint either! More British in outlook than the ‘glitzy’ American ships, there was still plenty of different types of entertainment, the food was excellent, and the staff most helpful. One or two have commented that the buffet area was always full, but as we always eat all meals in the restaurant (I like to be waited on when on holiday!) this was not a problem for us. When we did use the buffet, during the afternoons, for a drink and cake, we never had a problem finding a seat. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this ship, and the cruise to Norway.
