COULD DO BETTER
Ray Chadwick | December 11, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
Overall we enjoyed the cruise and realised that some changes had had to be made following COVID. A real surprise was the improvement in the quality of food and service in the Main Dining Room. However, the Beach House and Glass House menus had been pared back somewhat and, therefore. didn’t get a second visit. In the past Sindu attracted a supplement per person, whereas now each item is individually priced and it wasn’t cheap. The cabin was satisfactory and well serviced each morning, but it disappointing that the evening turn down service has gone. A real loss. Bar service was generally slower than we had experienced on previous cruises with P&O. The Headliners entertainment team were excellent and some of the acts we saw (particularly the Paloma Faith tribute) were very good. The on board app worked perfectly, allowing us to book any time dining and theatre shows with no hassle. Dress code is no longer enforced, with several people dining in the MDR in shorts and others wearing swim suits in the Buffet. As usual the reserving of sunbeds was not policed by staff which led to frustration for many people. The ease with which the suitcases are dealt with and the immigration process remains a major plus to a P&O Caribbean cruise. Finally, a shout out for Rizzel Ann, Brice and Raymond in the MDR who provided excellent service.
