Hazel Weston | March 13, 2018 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
Arrived back last Saturday after a wonderful 2 weeks on Britannia in the Caribbean. Did more or less the same cruise – slightly different itinerary 2 years ago and enjoyed it just as much.
Get really tired of reading negative reviews for P&O, we have cruised with them a few times now as well as other cruise lines and I can’t fault them.
The staff were all friendly and helpful to us – but then we do treat them like human beings unlike some other guests. Our cabin was spotlessly clean, plenty of room, comfy bed, spacious powerful shower.
The service we received in all the eating venues was excellent as was the standard and choice of food. Don’t think many of the moaners eat like that at home!
The waiters/waitresses in the bars we all friendly (occasionally were a bit scarce early evening) and once they got to know you went out of their way to get to know you even better.
Ports of call all had something different to offer – some better than others but that is the diversity of the Caribbean islands. What could be better than floating around the Caribbean between islands in the middle of February? Being looked after so well doing as little or as much as you like.
There was no problem finding somewhere to sunbathe even on sea days – there are so many decks and little nooks and crannies where you can be by yourselves if you don’t want the busy areas by the pools. Grab and go was great again especially if you don’t want to be too tempted in the buffet and is handy to take the food back to your sunlounger and not miss any sun time.
Met some lovely people on the cruise from all over the UK. We had a fantastic sail away party – Antigua I think or maybe St Kitts- we were berthed next to a RCI ship and they even joined in with our singing.
Really do think the moaners should start going with Regent or Silversea and then we don’t have to listen to them pontificating about how things have changed. The whole world has changed so why ruin your holiday by going on and on about it.
We had a bit of a delay coming home because of the weather in the UK, again the Captain informed us of the arrangements once he had confirmation from the airlines. We stayed on the ship until our flights were confirmed and were able to eat and drink onboard. How many hotels would allow that?
Anyway well done P&O, we will be booking with you again next week when the world cruise goes on sale ( or is that sail)
