Recent cruise on Britannia
Mrs Susan Gale | June 28, 2014 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
Enjoyed our well earned break. Loved the various destinations. Britannia is undeniably a beautiful ship. The interior design is quite stunning and the standard of cleanliness and hygiene was excellent. We were happy with our cabin too except for the creaking and cranking of the sliding doors leading out to the balcony which was difficult to sleep through. Have never experienced a noisy cabin on any of our previous cruises. We found the ship too big for us, with too many people and felt a little crowded at times. In particular, the buffet restaurant was mostly heaving, so much so, that by the time one had battled to get food to the table, it was hardly hot. In fact food wasn’t very hot in the main restaurants either. None of these issues spoilt our holiday but we wouldn’t choose Britannia again.
I need to point out that at our lifejacket practice at our muster station, we found to be a waste of time. We both struggled with ours although I did finally get mine on just in time to be told to take them off. Sadly, there were no offers of help from crew members, probably because they were too busy with lots of other people struggling. Sorry to sound so negative but we have had lovely cruises on other PandO ships and Britannia didn”t live up to our expectations.
