Will not Cruise again with P&O
Gordon Greaves | January 22, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
This was our second time we have been on Britannia.
The furniture on the ship is tired and worn out in places, with dirty fabric on seating.
How can a ship run out of alcoholic drinks 5 days before the cruise ends?
The food on the ship has drastically gone down hill, with repetitive food especially in the Horizon restaurant.
The staff in there I found rude at times and didn’t no what they was doing.
I asked one of the staff about what a certain food was on the hot plate because there was no display ticket to see what it was.
She said it was chicken and it turned out to be Fish, not very good if someone was allergic to fish.
The food was cold and some of it overdone.
Some of the reception staff were very rude and blunt, and found this very uncomfortable
The Live lounge staff was not very quick to serve drinks, and the entertainment in here on our first trip was fantastic
But now nothing much went on in there, bar seeing the same act three times in one night.
The music entertainment was mostly on the top deck outside which did not suit us at all
The last cruise we went on the entertainment in the live lounge was fantastic
The Theatre and entertainment was really good.
We went to the Limelight twice and really enjoyed it and the entertainment, but I think it was very under staffed, drinks and food taking a long time to get.
We had been on the ship about two days and all of the speciality restaurants were all fully booked I know you can book these before our cruise starts but we have been on several cruises with the same set up and never had this problem before.
We managed to get in the Glass House restaurant one night and the food was really good, but we waited over one hour for our starters to come and it wasn’t full.
It was cold also.
The staff in there were not very nice.
We tried several times again but was told very bluntly that it was full, I was even told that I needn’t go on the waiting list as I would not get in, and this was around 18.30 when asked, and it was open until 23.00.
The staff in Brodies Bar were all excellent and a few were really at the top of their game giving that little bit more.
But sadly running out of drinks in this bar was very disappointing.
Our cabins were kept very clean and the staff were all very polite and accommodating.
The bed linen was a bit worn and think it should be looked into, you could see material balls on the douve cover.
I think that the money we paid for that cruise was far too much and wasn’t worth the £5.500 what we paid.
We could have joined that ship for the same cruise the day our cruise ended for under £2000 less.
This will be the last time we book with P&O.
