Have to say we were rather disappointed. The virtual queuing system to book tables in the four ‘price included’ restaurants was a real faff! We found the majority of the staff were surly and not very friendly. The entertainment and restaurants that were extra cost were booked up every night, unless you were prepared to wait a couple of hours, then we were told, a further 45 minutes or so, for the food to arrive. Afternoon tea was available in one ‘paid’ location and was fully booked all week. The bars only offered about 3 or 4 cocktails and could not mix anything that was not on their list. There were very few empty seats, if any, in the Quays for lunch and few seats available in most locations, as there were so many people on board, even though it was such a big ship. We had paid extra for a balcony cabin, but there was a jacuzzi just below us on the deck, so it was noisy all of the time. The table tennis bats coverings were all hanging off and the basketball balls were flat with no air. People were smoking on their balconies and we found cigarette ends on the promenade deck, underneath balconies and smoke drifted up from balconies below. There was no dress code at all and dinner was taken by a lot of people in hoodies, shorts, jeans and trainers. No effort to encourage hand sanitizer being used.
On the day of departure I felt unwell and tested positive for covid once home.
Compared to other cruise lines we have sailed with, we would not choose P&O again.
