Iona to the Fjords
Sue Fisher | July 11, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Iona
We originally booked on Iona for 2020, then 2021 so were happy to finally make it in 2022!
We had great weather and so made use of most of the facilities on board. There were plenty of sun beds and deck chairs always available but the ship was only at 3/4 capacity so not sure what it would be like when full.
Our cabin was quite long and narrow but plenty of space for a week. Staff shortages meant that it sometimes took a while to be served in the main dining rooms. Also, Epicurean & Glass House restaurants were closed due to staff shortages.
We tried several ‘pay extra’ restaurants, Sindhu was our favourite, Keel & Cow & The Olive Grove were also very good. The Quays was excellent and we often had breakfast or lunch there. Less choice than the buffet but quicker to get served and seated.
We enjoyed Joe McEldery in the Limelight Club where we had a great meal before the show. Rock On in the theatre we also very good.
We went in 2 of the P&O trips, Briksdal Glacier & Skudeneshavn. Both were excellent.
Overall, a great cruise, much more casual than our only other cruise which was in 2019.
