WOW to the Iona
danielle hodge | September 13, 2021 | P&O Cruises | Iona
The moment we arrived at Southampton and saw Iona, she was beautiful, it was so exciting after waiting through this pandemic to be able to sail on the beautiful ship.
Right from the lateral flow test to check Inn, everything was so smooth, we entered via the Atrium and its beautifully decorated and very bright, in fact it is was better than I imagined. We went straight to our cabin as I was so excited to see this, and nothing can be at fault. We had a balcony cabin forward of the ship and as soon as we entered, we was impressed. The décor was lovely, really well thought off, all the amenities that you expect from P&O, very spacious, we was really happy with this.
The ship itself has been very well thought off, whirl pools around deck 8 (we used them a couple of times), infinity pool looking out the back of the ship which was nice to just sit a gaze out to the ocean. Different bars and restaurants and plenty of room for everyone to sit.
The food throughout our stay was great, we was not disappointed once, from burgers, pizzas, sandwiches and buffet in the day time, to al carte, buffet, steak and Indian (many more we didn’t manage to try) in the evening, we can honestly say we was not disappointed.
I am really happy that P&O have finally been able to let their fleet sail again, and I really happy that I have been able to go on the Iona and can not wait to travel on her again and experience visiting ports this time.
Overall I am very happy to have sailed on the new beautiful ship and can not wait to get back cruising again.
