The cruise I am reviewing was on 3rd July 2012, we sailed on the Ventura (2nd time that year )and it was a cruise we shall never forget…
We sailed down Southampton Waters away from our berth at the Mayflower terminal. Ventura was the 2nd ship in the line of all P Os 7
cruise liners. AS we passed a barge a wonderful firework display occured. Princess Anne was on board a royal navy frigate to take the salute as each ship passed we then carried on our merry way to our first port of Malaga..I say merry as most of us, were waving flags to all the people on the shore who came to see that fantastic spectical and singing, what a sail away party ..but we were to have many such parties in the next 17 days but the weather had put a damper on the Sailaway and the Red Arrows coulnt do a fly past but a great time was had by all.. It was a spectacular sight to look back an see all the ships following us albeit in the mist but that made it more surreal.
The food, cabin, and Staff were all as one would expect from P O.. Superb… .. Each Sailaway was pleasure to take part in..one that stands out was when we were all singing and the Pilot boat joined in turning round in circles behind us what a bit of sailing..another ,for Captain Paul Brown who joined the Entertainments team and put them to shame with his dancing.. Our Thanks go to all who took part in the planning of such a spectacular event…getting us all on board to sail on time and getting to the docks via different routes
