January Caribbean Cruise
Terence Osmant | August 13, 2018 | P&O Cruises | Ventura
We had a very enjoyable cruise on the Ventura. We thought the food and general hospitality excellent. our cabin steward was very efficient and looked after us very well. We felt that other service aspects could have been better. When we boarded the ship we found that a lot of the crew had no idea about directing us to our cabin. On three nights we had very poor wine waiter and the wine arrived after we had started our main meal.
The entertainment on board was generally very good and the main shows were excellent. Some of the copy cat acts were very ordinary and we would have preferred to see acts performing in their own right. This was superbly illustrated when two of the Headliner singers performed with the resident pianist in the Tamarind night club. To performances, both to full house proved to be the highlight of the week.
We travelled out via Birmingham airport and on return we subjected to a 6 hour delay supposedly because of bad weather conditions. We believe this delay was because our plane was used to overcome delays at Manchester airport which could have meant Thompsons would have to make compensation payments.
