Late return flights to UK
Allenstein Alfred | September 12, 2016 | Princess Cruises | Crown Princess
Our complaint is with the timing of the return flight to the UK. This was a Eastern Med and Greek Islands cruise which overall was very good indeed. However we were booked to return from Venice Marco Polo airport on a BA flight departing at 23.25.No alternative flights were on offer and we did not realise what we were letting ourselves in for.
As we had to vacate our staterooms at 08.00 on the morning of departure and leave the ship at 18.00 hours for the airport we were without accomodation for the intervening period. In temperatures of 35/40C it was extremely unpleasant. We then had to spend a further 6 hours kicking our heels in what must be the most dilapidated airport in the Western world. It was disgusting, with a notice (in English) from the airport authorities bitterly complaining that the Italian government refused them permission to update the airport.
With a further 20minute delay on flight departure we eventually arrived in Gatwick at 01.45 totally exhausted. NEVER AGAIN BOLSOVER CRUISE CLUB. Intending cruisers BE WARNED.
