Round Britain 2014

Generally speaking this was a good Round Britain cruise on a comfortable, well constructed ship. One has to bear in mind that the majority of passengers on board this type of cruise are North American, and therefore food and dress code are aimed at these passengers. However there are others on board who should be considered, and I personally found the menus to be very poor in their variety. No special attempt was made on formal nights to provide an exceptional menu. Fortunately there were only two of these, but as far as I am concerned, Princess Cruises may just as well do away with these as well, as the menus were very Americanised and ordinary for other travellers, and also the Dress Code on board was not observed by many of the passengers. Even on Formal nights, passengers were appearing in the Dining Room in Shorts, Tee-shirts and flip flops, and in two cases were wearing Baseball caps. If you saw someone in Formal Wear, i.e. Dinner Jacket or Dark Suit, they were from Britain. At the Captains Cocktail Party for Much Travelled guests which was on a Formal Night, even the Cruise Director, a Male was not wearing Evening attire, although strangely enough his Staff were. I say to Princess, if this is your policy, forget formal nights, and be careful, you could be losing English passengers.
