klucznyk | August 8, 2014 | Royal Caribbean International | Anthem of the Seas
this is our second Royal Caribbean cruise the first on the The Allure of the Seas , which we thought was a fantastic holiday everything was great, service, food, variety, entertainment, staff, the ship was amazing. so we thought booking the new ship on the fleet was a great idea. We expected the same exiting holiday on a wonderful ship.
We were to be very disappointed.
first impressions upon arrival were ok , in one of our cabins we discovered a double bed and a sofa bed were set up for our three , young adult kids, we needed three beds , this was however soon changed by our attendant who was very polite and friendly, he split the beds and all was ok.
Over the next few days we looked around the ship, , we did find that staff were struggling to cope with the service required, in certain areas it took a long time for dirty plates etc to be cleared.
I think one of the main grudges we and many other people had was that the food was not as we was expecting, the Windjammer was good , but the other restaurants that were include were not good at all, we nearly left the table when our food arrived on one occasion, Chops Grille, , the paying restaurants were better. We spent christmas day in the Windjammer , normally we would of booked something else but we decided the Windjammer was our best option but not perhaps “atmosphere” we would of liked to be in on christams day?? without spending more money. Why should this be?
Wifi was expensive also, just a money maker, Again!!
Entertainment again was just ok, nothing much for our young family to do in the evenings really.
I could go on , but i think the best way to explain for us is to say , that their is no comparison, to this ship to the Allure of the Seas. Generally all over opinion. We were and are disappointed with our cruise this year, this is not what we expected at all, nothing like we had previously experienced. This was not just us there were many many people, complaining particularly, regarding the food.
We shall not return the this ship ever, and i hope IF we ever return to the Allure it will be as we expect.
