First Mediterranean Cruise

We ( two 69 year olds ) did a 13 night cruise from Southampton in Sept 2016
The ship is very big with lots to explore. We had a balcony stateroom 8602 on deck 8. The stateroom was very spacious, lots of storage and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony.
The dining was excellent both in the dining room and self service restaurant.
The staff were excellent, especially Maureen our state room attendant, also Julio and Francisco in the dining room.
With it being a large ship when the sun came out the pool decks became very busy and it was not easy to find a quiet spot, the sun beds were very close to each other so we tended to keep away.
Things to put up with, smell of smoking around the casino and the starboard side of deck 4, constant sales of some poorer quality goods on the promenade, official photographers, expensive drinks and new cruise sales.
Things to enjoy, pleasant sailing in calm seas, opportunity of visit new city locations, enjoy quality food and service, excellent entertainment, meeting new people, swimming in the pools in the early morning.
Overall it was a really good experience and with it being out of school holidays there were few children on board.
We would do it again but would perhaps shop around as a similar cruise next year seems to be a lot more expensive.
