Dissapointing farewell cruise.Byon 20 March 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Having cruised with P&O many times the Adonia farewell cruise was very disappointing. The cruise was 28 nights sailing to the Amazon and the Caribbean. The entertainment was very poor and because of paperwork not being in place some of the artists were not allowed to perform as we entered Brazilian waters. To make matters worse the Adonia theatre company only consisted of four members and when one of them was ill they cancelled the rest of...
DisgustedByon 20 March 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
The ship was swarming with Azamara personnel with clip boards and tape measure from the start of the cruise. As the cruise progressed the staffing levels were reduced as the staff departed for other ships, this led to delays in service at bars and restuarants. The maintenance was ignored re limited light in cabin (bulbs missing) and a shower spraying everywhere. The quality of food reduced dramatically in the last week !!The farewell Adonia Party was...
Last voyage on AdoniaByon 20 March 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We have travelled on Adonia before, to Seville, and loved this small ship so as soon as we saw that it was cruising in the Caribbean we booked a cabin. The hurricanes in late 2017 meant our itinerary had to change but this meant we had an opportunity to visit smaller islands that we had not visited before…and what a treat that was! Mayreau was a little-unspoilt gem, with a beautiful ‘desert island’ beach, we...
Worst cruise in 20 yearsByon 20 March 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We booked this cruise as we have had great cruises on the Adonia and as the last we thought it would be special. The ship was winding down from joining the ship food average spent every night in the ocean grill at £30 per night. Entertainment poor just 4 people running the activities, ran our of certain wines and bought a package for £140, spent 12 days trying to get what we had paid for...
Very disappointingByon 05 March 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
It seemed as though P&O had given up on Adonia now that she is sold. The entertainment, such as it was, very poor and no thought to providing extra indoor when the weather was poor, which it frequently was. To be told incorrect paperwork meant the lecturer and the classical pianist could not perform in Brazil was unacceptable, particularly when nothing appeared in their place. It seemed as though they were intent in selling you...
Farewell Adonia and Thank YouByon 20 February 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
The crew were brilliant, food at the customary high standard. The public rooms were pristine but the cabins are starting to look tired and need an upgrade. That said, a cruise which provided the r and r we were ready for. The entertainment was poor compared with previous cruises and this seemed to be a general comment by fellow passengers. Sorry to see Adonia go. I am sure we will cruise again, but not on...
Caribbean at it’s bestByon 19 February 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We had a wonderful cruise on board the Adonia, which was a perfect little ship. Our table for dinner was for eight people and we gelled perfectly making it even more memorable. Our last cruise with P&O was on the Azura which was a disaster, an expensive one! I am sorry we won’t be able to take another one on that ship.
Beautiful ship, shame it’s moving on!Byon 19 February 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Adonia is a beautiful ship with an excellent, happy crew. Because it’s small it is more personal. It was too small for me because there wasn’t enough physical activity during the day if you were at sea. Eg no line dancing or ballroom ( I thought there would be ballroom lessons but I hadn’t read the brochure correctly! My mistake. It was a fabulous Caribbean cruise, the opportunity to go to Guadeloupe and Bequia were...
Sad to say goodbyeByon 19 February 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Just had a fabulous two weeks round Caribbean on Adonia. It’s heartbreaking to know that it’s sold. There is a market for this size of ship. Much better than “holiday camps at sea”. Thank goodness for Oriana and Aurora.
DISAPPOINTINGByon 22 January 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We have sailed on Adonia before and enjoyed the experience so when we heard it had been revamped we booked again. Then we were told P&O had sold the vessel but the final cruises would be special and cruises to remember. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The entertainment was mediocre as was the food. The New Year Party was flat with the group singing everyday songs and nothing special to bring in the new...
Caribbean ChristmasByon 08 January 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Just had a wonderful 2 weeks cruising on Adonia around the Caribbean and it’s a real shame that she is leaving the P&O fleet – we couldn’t have had a better holiday. The ship is incredibly small compared to all others (at one point we were berthed alongside Azura and were dwarfed by her) but that only added to her charm. Staff are extremely friendly, polite and helpful and with only 700+ guests they very...
Disappointing TripByon 08 January 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Didn’t meet expectations. Ship was in a run down state with obvious maintenance jobs not attended to. Cabin steward was not attentive and left the cabin below par and not properly cleaned out from the last guests. She came in whenever she felt like without knocking and without warning. Service in the restaurant 2nd sitting was poor with staff shortage on Christmas Day and we had to clear away our own plates. Lack of poolside...
Wonderful ship – pity about the weatherByon 02 January 2018P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We went on Adonia, across the Atlantic at the end of October, beginning of November. Unfortunately we had to skirt hurricane Ophelia and then storm Brian – which meant a lot of sea days in fairly bumpy conditions, with the decks closed at times, fortunately, we were midship lower deck. The Adonia is a lovely ship – the crew were all lovely, so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. there was a wonderful craft...
Brilliant AdoniaByon 27 December 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Why are P&O selling the Adonia it is the best ship in the fleet, not one thing we could find anything wrong with the cruise.
CaribbeanByon 27 December 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
An enjoyable cruise visiting some of the smaller islands. Enjoyed size of ship. It offered quite a lot of activities and the entertainment was good. The condition of the furnishings was better than expected, but bathroom very small. The food was disappointing, with some of the dishes in the main dining room not living up to expectation.
Cruise on AdoniaByon 15 November 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Sorry to report after more than 7 good to excellent cruises the Adonia is the worse P&O experience to date. Bad report not down to weather conditions but to poor service from a very officious reception to poor and or slow service in the all day restaurant and bars with waiters huddling together talking. Also food left out too long under heat lamps , all dried up and hard for breakfast. All bars ran dry...
The cruise became a mystery tourByon 14 November 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We really like Adonia, but perhaps it was not a good choice to cross the Atlantic on in hurricane season. We seemed to spend a lot of time, skirting round hurricanes and storms, which led to rather a bumpy ship. This is not a complaint, as obviously no one can help the weather. As we were ship bound for several days I was a bit disappointed at the amount of entertainment available, there was only...
Small ship cruiseByon 24 October 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We had a relaxing cruise to the Canary Islands. Plenty of room in Conservatory restaurant and all leisure areas. Such a shame that this ship has been sold.
Conflicting QualityByon 24 October 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
Four or five salient points which may (or may not!) be of use to future cruisers. Although the ship will no longer be with P&O from February 2018. FOR: Excellent hardworking crew who seemed to be most happy working on the ship. This speaks well of the company. They gave friendly and efficient service. Facilities never crowded. Always space in public areas. Recent refurbishments meant furnishings were new (or like new). Drinks prices very fair....
Oh I shall so miss this lovely ship!!Byon 24 October 2017P&O Cruises | Adonia Cruise Ship Reviews
We’ve just had such a good time on a 12 day trip to the Atlantic Isles on lovely Adonia. It’s cosy, friendly and just makes you feel so relaxed. Staff were great. Weather mixed and a lot of the ports were closed due to public holidays but we still had a great time. Walking round the jogging track as the sun rises or as you come into port is wonderful. So sad P&O are selling...
