P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Title: Fjords, unbeatable Summary: This was a great cruise from beginning to end, beautiful scenery and a more than happy and helpful crew, the food in club dining was excellent well done to the new executive chef and his galley staff. The calls were outstanding the call in Hellesylt was great for us as we love walking and the timing of this call was really clever we sailed in past the seven sisters waterfall and the captain did a...

Title: Rust Bucket? Summary: We have just returned from a Baltic cruise on Arcadia. To say that we were disappointed with the condition of the ship would be an understatement. Having had cruise holidays over 20 years, and sailed with various cruise lines, Arcadia was by far the scruffiest ship we have sailed on. Arcadia is certainly showing her age, she is covered in rust, peeling paint, her windows are dirty, especially in the dining rooms, handrails need varnishing...

Title: Best entertainment we have seen from the Headliners, after numerous P&O Cruises. Summary: Lovely ports of call, perfect weather, calm seas. Pity about delays with excursions.Having risen at 6am for 8.30 departure, we could have stayed in bed till 7am. Still, it was an enjoyable outing to Bordeaux. Slight problem with plug in bathroom not working, but steward got it sorted.

Title: Outstanding itinerary. Food ok at best. Maintenance & security, poor. Summary: The Norwegian fjords itinerary was simply wonderful. Some of the best scenery anywhere in the world. The onboard entertainment was also excellent especially the jazz orchestra and production shows. The crew were generally excellent. Food was ok: we ate mainly in the dining rooms. 3 stars (at best) vs 4 stars on Princess. The maintenance of the ship was poor. The main pool (Neptune) was out of service for half the cruise. 1 midship elevator...

Title: Arcadia showing her age Summary: This cruise was to the Norwegian Fjords. The roof of the swimming pool was stuck open and could not be used for the first several days. There were areas where a coat of paint was badly needed and a number of leaks in various areas leading to de-humidifiers being used in the corridors and access to parts of some public areas being restricted for a short time. There was one brief power cut and another...

Title: Norwegian Fjords 05-17.05.2019 Summary: Deluxe Balcony Cabin D28 This was not our first cruise on Arcadia and we both felt the vessel was beginning to look tired. We would not have liked to have been on a cruise of any longer duration. With regards to cleanliness. Our cabin was kept spotless by our cabin stewardess Beverly, our reason for the five stars. Towels in the bathroom changed everyday. We both agreed we did not believe the bed linen to...

Title: Not very well Summary: As a single traveller I expected to be joined in with other singles. Thai did not happen. I would be put in anywhere to make up a table. When I asked not to be put on a table for 8 people, because i am deaf and wear two hearing aids and could not hear any conversations at the end of the table, I was put on a two person table by myself and left there....

Title: Med Cruise april 16th to May 5th Summary: Ship looking tired , in parts not as clean as it might be , understaffed in Restaurant Service very slow at time. Freedom dining a joke! Needed to queue from 5-30 to be sure of a table about 7pm . Food disappointing. We were on this ship at Chrismas and certainly the standard and quality this time not as good . leaking water soaked our cabin carpet and no solution could be found, need to...

Title: Sydney to Singapore (part of a world cruise) Summary: We had a lovely holiday and it was an experience to complete part of a World Cruise. The ship is a bit tired and the entertainment could have been a bit livelier. Due to the nature of the cruise it had lots of retired people on board and perhaps the entertainment was targeted to that age group. More choice of entertainment and also longer slots than 45 minutes at a time wouldn’t have helped. The...

Title: San Francsico to Sydney Summary: Impressed with Honolou and Fiji however, Noumea was disappointing but hid storm conditions soon after which meant we didn’t enter 2 of our ports, Pago Pago & Port Vila. We docked in Newcastle which was not on our itinerary, a real bonus a lovely port. The cruise was also hampered by ill health and unfortunately deaths. The captain and his crew were remarkable to avoid the worst of the cyclone and to add Newcastle at...

Title: Alright, but could be better Summary: Our stateroom was on A deck, above us was the swimming pool and recreation area. During the night the crew moved the sun loungers and other items about, by dragging along the floor. This was usually about 5.30am but occasionally 3.15am. We complained about this but no action was taken and it continued throughout the cruise. We have always enjoyed the formal dining, but although the service was excellent, portions arrived plated and could have...

Title: Great cruise even in bad weather Summary: Heavy seas both outbound and home. Entertainment good but felt that Emma Alexander did not have the full support of her crew. Our major disappoint was that the Christmas and New Year cruises have been discontinued. There were a considerable number of passengers that we had met over the last 5 years who were equally upset. Do P and O want the custom of our age groups or not?
