P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Wonderful cruise
By Linda Lowrey on 29 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

My husband and I had a cruise from 3rd-20th October to the Mediterranean. This was our second time on Arcadia ( tenth cruise in total) and the refurbishment had been done very tastefully. The service, food and entertainment were all excellent. We enjoyed most ports of call, only buying shore excursions in Toulon and Barcelona. We were restricted with the cabin we could choose because my husband’s disability requires a walk-in shower and we do...

Noise

P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

We have completed 2 P&O cruise this year, most recently on Arcadia. We’ve have always enjoyed the Headliners who have become better in recent years BUT the volume of the music in the theatres seems to be getting louder and louder such that my wife cannot sit through some of the shows. The same problem seems occur with some of the artists and indeed the live musicians around the ship in the evening. We have...

A little dissapointing
By Mr & Mrs G Bromley on 29 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

My wife and I sailed on the Arcadia 4 years ago and we had a 5-star experience, unfortunately, this cruise was not, the food in the main restaurant was quite poor in comparison, we also tried the fine dining experience this was also quite poor com paired to our last sailing 4 years ago. The plus was the evening entertainment that was superb the waiters at our table were great very good service. We sail on...

New York & Canada 2018
By Steve on 12 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Fantastic cruise, 6 day sailing across the Atlantic was smooth. New York was wet on arrival, so disappointed didn’t get a good view of the Statue of Liberty. We booked excursions in New York, so got to see lots. The immigration process was a bit of a bind but suppose it was for security reasons. The stops up through Canada was fine, found the Canadians very friendly. The entertainment on board was great, excellent shows...

New York & Canada
By Val on 11 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

The cruise was very good, the service excellent, and the food was delicious so nice that on our anniversary we decided to eat in the restaurant rather than one of the two speciality restaurants. The sea behaved itself but some of the ports we visited left us extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, although the Canadians were very welcoming their towns left a lot be desired! We had rain in New York and Quebec, cold winds and some...

Cruising in the Baltic
By Hugh & Tina Driskell on 11 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Cruising the Baltic on Arcadia was our second cruise and the second time on Arcadia. It is a ship for adults only offering service that is a pleasure to experience. From the moment we stepped on board we felt looked after and the staff were interested in our well-being. The cabin and balcony offered comfort and a quiet area of space to relax. The furniture had been upgraded since our last cruise in 2017. We...

The Baltic and St Petersburg
By Philip Cook on 11 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Overal very good. Itinerary fine apart from Warnemunde which being late in the cruise suffered in comparison to St Petersburg etc. Food in Freedom dinning was adequate but cold starters in particular suffered from too long in refrigeration, tasteless. Sindu good but don’t think it warrants a higher charge than Ocean Grill which was excellent. Sad to hear Oriana is being sold, another step towards us all being forced onto the leviathans being launched by...

For our first cruise did not know what to expect but lovely staff at Bolsover were very helpful and organisation of P&O amazing, from the time of arrival when the car was taken and luggage also to check in staff all great and got us off to a good start. Our cabin was a good size with a balcony and very clean. Our cabin steward introduced himself and offered any help we may need. I...

Arcadia Cruise in August 2018
By Anne Ambrose on 28 August 2018
Cunard Line | Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is still a lovely ship, and although we love our grandchildren greatly, it is so nice to go on an Adult only ship when you go away on your own. We first cruised on Arcadia in 2005, only 1 year after it was launched. Although there have been several changes since then, the food, service of all staff, and entertainment have always remained high. Two years ago we tried Freedom Dining which worked well....

Arcadia 2018

P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Just returned from a Western Med cruise in Aug 2018, beautiful ship, service was even better than usual and the shows were the best we have ever had on P & O Cruises. The onboard activities/talks etc were very good indeed and the Entertainment Manager Emma Alexader struck just the right note between keeping you informed without being “in your face” the whole time. Finally, I think the food was also improved since our last...

Arcadia looks a lot brighter in the public areas after the refurbishment. The staff as always were brilliant. A few things that could be improved, and we have commented on it after every cruise we have been on. In the Belvedere they have great difficulty providing hot plates, particularly at breakfast time. And for some reason, the bread rolls are still behind the screens, when you go for the continental breakfast!!! Fine if you wait...

First Time Cruisers

Just returned from cruising the Norwegian Fjords aboard the Arcadia. We were thoroughly impressed by the whole experience from making the booking to checking in/embarkation and disembarkation at Southampton. Everything ran so smoothly. Once on board the Arcadia, it was: fine dining everyday in the Meridian Restaurant and an even finer dining experience one evening at the Ocean Grill (Marco Pierre White restaurant), very attentive service which catered tirelessly to our dietary requirements (nothing was...

Scenic Cruising (or Not)
By Philip Rodham on 24 August 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

As a loyal P&O passenger it is sad to see such a steady decline in standards. We have just returned from a Norwegian Cruise to the Fjords. When booked it was advertised as more emphasis on scenic cruising which it was – between 5.30 am and 7.30 am, and also on sailaways after 6 pm when early diners missed it. Why we spent between 10 and 11 hours in ports where the population was 500...

Joseph my cabin steward was very good! Excellent service. Entertainment was excellent. Food not so good some days-disappointed as usually food on all ships is excellent. The mashed potato had been frozen and defrosted in a microwave-still looking water on the dinner plate. Life jacket drill was a joke!! Not one member of staff checked that jackets were correctly put on. No training for staff. Disabled people left to get on without -and how in...

Arcadia is my favourite ship in the P&O fleet. Having had my 4th trip on her we have just returned from a lovely cruise around the Med, taking in Italy, Spain and France. Some beautiful places, Corsica (Calvi), Sardinia (Cagliari), Rome, Oporto, Salerno (Amalfi), Almeria in Spain, and obligatory Gibraltar (for duty frees!). The ship has been recently refreshed and this makes her look even better and it was pleasant not having to get up...

A perfect cruise to celebrate our Golden Wedding

We are an active couple who have cruised many times before. We wanted and got an adults-only cruise where we could walk and explore, learn new things and see new places and be looked after and pampered as well. We had an amazing time and have absolutely no problems recommending the experience. The service, cabin, food in both club and speciality restaurant Sindhu, activities on board, entertainment and cruise tours were all of a high...

Loved the ship
By Doreen and Barrie Wesson on 30 July 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

After previously having cruised on Britannia we thoroughly enjoyed the adults only ship Arcadia. A smaller ship but still great food, entertainment and accommodation. The service was excellent and the Headliners in the theatre were particularly good. We went to the Baltic and saw some amazing places. All in all, we were highly delighted.
