 - Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Title: Disappoint Summary: First time on Arcadia and rather a disappointment after sailing on other P&O ships. The service was rather low key had to wait a time, the dining room was the worst, long wait between courses, could not blame the waiters they were just understaffed and overworked. The condition of the ship needed attention, rather a lot of rust around ( although they were trying to cover up with a lick of paint). The decks needed...

Title: Disappointing New Years Eve cruise Summary: We have cruised on Oceana,Ventura Brittania before and the Arcadia is now our least favorite ship. I think the biggest problem is space All the entertainment venues were too small for the amount of people trying to use the. The tables in the dining rooms were very close together and they felt chaotic. Food overall whilst good wasnt up to previous P&O standards Lunch in the main dining rooms was just snacks whereas before we...

Title: Extremely disappointing New Years Eve on Arcadia Summary: Just a quick review of our New Year cruise on Arcadia. First time on the ship – it was lovely. We were in cabin C205 – aft balcony – it was fabulous. The food was excellent as were the staff. We enjoyed the places we visited. The ship was small but so easy to find our way around. We didn’t see the Captain once – which we found unusual for P and O. We were...

Title: Xmas cruise Summary: Lovely cruise. Staff levels especially in dining rooms need to be sorted. Rushed off their legs. Had to wait for table but not really a problem. At certain meals we had to wait ages to give our order and then ages to get meal. Not the fault of the waiters etc. P&O please take note. Only other gripe is the cost of the trips. We had to pay £70 for a twenty minute bus ride...

Title: Xmas Cruise Summary: Excellent cruise – first time as a solo cruiser – had a fab time. The only observations I have were that there were not a lot of xmas decorations expected more. Also the entertainment was not as good as other cruises I have been on. The shows were lacking – very loud and the girl singers not good. The bar entertainers were mixed. The ship was in port quite a lot and sometimes when they...

Title: J919/J920 Summary: Xmas lunch a shambles.Damp carpets. Nothing labelled up in the buffet. Ports of call on J920 disgusting. Work going on before 8a.m. Being charged twice at the end of both cruises. Cruise ruined in our opinion. Thinking of cancelling 2 cruises booked.

Title: Enjoyed the Cruise But the Ship Need Attention Summary: We cruised to Oslo , Copenhagen etc at Christmas. This is only the second time with PO and were disappointed by certain aspects. We went to the Meridian restaurant when we boarded , by invitation because we had booked a mini suite and it was a buffet. The food was average but there were long periods with no cutlery or plates. My husband waited 40 minutes for an orange juice! The food in the buffet...

Title: Winter cruise in the Med Summary: Something about this cruise did not gel. The food in the restaurant was poor for 4 nights of the 9 night cruise. I perceived that the amount of alcohol in some of the cocktails had been minimized. My general feeling was that the ship/staff were tired. On the plus side, once we had left the bad weather through the Bay of Biscay, all the destinations and weather were good.

Title: J919 – 8.12.2019 – 19.12.2019 UK/Lisbon/Cadiz/Malaga/Cartagena/Gibraltar/UK Summary: Our first ever cruise was in 2005 on Artemis. This cruise is just our fourth cruise, all have been with P and O, this is our second time on Arcadia and we have been on Aurora once. So we are by no means experts in cruising and we have no competitor cruise lines for comparison. Over all we enjoyed this cruise, the only spoiler really was the food. Going back some years the one thing...

Title: P&O Arcadia Northern Lights Cruise Review Summary: Cruise Date: 26th Nov 2019 – 13 days. This was a wonderful snowy pre-Christmas adventure cruise to the Arctic to see the Northern Lights. It was a great cruise which definitely delivered the cruise adventure we were looking for, as well as a magical Christmas experience. I did not get to see the northern lights, but this was more than made up by the lovely snow and Christmas feeling we got from this cruise. I...

Title: Non smokers hell Summary: The ship has only 2 outdoor pools, one with an retractable roof and limited outdoor space. On our cruise this pool seemed to be intermittently open so to swim the only option was to use the outdoor pool where all the smokers converged. With limited outdoor space this seemed a strange place to have the smoking area as it effectively made life unpleasant for non smokers who wanted to use the pool. I would suggest...

Title: Xxxxxx Summary: Arcadia it’s self is a lovely ship, it was our first time on Freedom Dining, it was a shambles, most people wanted a table for two if you got down to the restaurant by 6 pm It would take 1/1/2hrs mostly 45 mins,we were asked would we do a side by side, which is a 4 with a small gap ,fine if you get nice people, but if there not nice ,you are reminded why you want...

Title: Cut backs Summary: Cutbacks are most noticeable in entertainments. Headliners now run some of the dancing classes. e.g. line dancing. The number of cabin stewards decreases every cruise. They are given more cabins and less time to finish their quota. Freedom dining was a nightmare. Long waits for service. Not helped be an outbreak of Noro virus. The ship itself was clean and well kept. The captain and bridge staff very affable. Guest entertainers not very entertaining. But...

Title: Canada J915 Summary: We have now completed 25 p&o cruises. This was our first cruise to Canada. The ship, service, entertainment, all about the usual good standard with the food an improvement. The ports of call including itinerary change was fine. The weather was poor. I would like to see the day time activities change, always the same. We look forward to the maiden Iona cruise in May. We keep returning still good value for Moines spent. Well...

Title: 16 September 2019 Summary: We booked a delux balcony cabin on P&O Arcadia to celebrate a big birthday, the cabin was rather small for a deluxe, but the beds were very comfortable the staff very good, the food was very nice. We did a couple of shows but as we would rather go dancing we tried the Globe a few times. The girl singer was great she was very versatile with a vast range of songs she was able...

Title: Disappointing Summary: This 24 day cruise to Canada from Southampton was a complete disappointment. We are very experienced passengers with P&O and we both agree this was the least enjoyable of our many cruises. To be fair not all blame could be levelled at P&O. The weather was cold and very wet throughout, we didn’t spot any wildlife either in Canada or in the sea, and the hope of seeing a colourful Canadian Fall did not happen....

Title: Wonderful Arcadia Summary: Canada – September October 2019 Wonderful cruise on Arcadia. She’s still a beautiful ship and we had plenty to do on our sea days. Entertainment by the Headliners outstanding. Other entertainment good too. Food good especially the grill in the Belvedere self-service. Tried Sindhu and Marco Pierre White restaurants and both excellent. Cabin E126 although obstructed view was excellent as was our cabin steward Marnie. Ports were lovely even though cold and wet at times...

Title: Arcadia Canada 2019 Summary: My wife and I have just returned from a 24 night cruise on Arcadia to Canada and back. I have some positive comments but also many comments which some loyal P& O followers will not agree with. To put this into context we have been on around 30 cruises in the past 25 years and patronised Cunard, Celebrity, Oceania, Princess and P & O. Arcadia is rated 3 stars + by Berlitz but I would...

Title: Baltic cruise Summary: Having recently returned from the above cruise I can only say that I will never travel on Arcadia again. I accept that routine maintenance has to be done but what went on seemed to be excessive and really the ship needs a refit, but obviously P&O will not take it out of commission for the work to be done. There were buckets in the crows nest and Piano bar, collecting water coming through light fittings...
