P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Title: First Cruise Summary: This 5 night cruise to Amsterdam, Zeebrugge and Le Havre was a ‘trial’ as my husband was reluctant to cruise. I’m very pleased to say, the ‘trial’ went really well. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We have nothing but praise for al, the staff we met, whether stewards, waiters, housekeepers, officers etc. They were all so friendly and pleasant. The ‘mass catered’ food was much better than I had expected. It was well cooked,...

Title: Cruise Review Summary: 10 year-old ship a bit tired. Excellent food, but overall the cruise was not up to the standard of Celebrity. Excursions were good, one of the main reasons for cruising, but overall value not what was expected. Drinks on board rather expensive. Reception staff not very efficient in sorting a bank card problem. Evening entertainment was largely satisfactory, albeit limited to just 45 minutes per show. Cabin balcony just adequate, with noisy outside metal partition....

Title: feedback The Good the bad and the Ugly Summary: A good itinary for us as we enjoy seadays, and there were plenty.Like Arcadia especially the Theatre in which the softer bench/sofa seats are very comfortable. A good young, well motivated entertainments team (who were not patronising to older passengers as some on other cruiseshave come across). I had not seen the Queen Tribute Show(the Group NOT the Monarch !) performed in the main theatre before and it is one of the best ever productions. One or...

Title: Arcadia 2015 Summary: An excellent cruise with good friends. Enjoyed everything about it. The cabin was lovely and well looked after. The restaurant service was excellent. Only one disappointment when I ordered a bottle of Champagne by telephone and was offered the “House” Champagne but on arrival at the restaurant was told it was not served there. Should the order have been taken in the first place when they ofered the variety?

Title: To the Arctic Circle Summary: This was a cruise to celebrate my 80th birthday, which was at Honningsvaag on the day. We chose Arcadia for being adults only. We had an obstructed view cabin and was lucky to be between two lifeboats. It was the best cabin I have had and best bathroom with a bath/shower, grab rails too. (done 16 cruises) Unfortunately the weather was poor most of the time, overcast with a few sunny days out of the...

Title: Jay Summary: Just had a superb cruise on the fjords – check in was as smooth as silk – as was the sea – had the amazing ‘Perry’ entertaining us – have never seen the Piano Lounge so full (every night) with the laughter echoing down the stairs and through the ship – 2.5 hours non stop entertainment for 12 of the 14 nights. Other guest entertainers excellent. Food hot, more than enough and the steaks were...

Title: Arcadia in Norway Summary: Fantastic scenery, weather very good, our favourite ship Arcadia is looking a little tired, work people everywhere mopping up leaks and soggy carpets. Has anyone else noticed that the Baltic tier is losing some benefits, no longer seperate luggage areas in the shed, now no longer able to choose time to disembark, no help given at reception when we enquired just told that its nothing to do with Baltic. Things are changing at P&O and not...

Title: Food Summary: The starters and desserts were very good but the main course meals were not . They were unimaginative and unaspiring. One meal of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was in edible – we could not get our knives through the Yorkshire and the meat was more than half gristle. We were on Freedom dining which, for the first few days was bedlam, but settled down eventually. However the service in the restaurant was generally below...

Title: Cruising the Med Summary: We have had several cruises with P & O and have enjoyed them all. Mainly using either Ventura or Azura Ship. This time we decided to try the Arcadia. Arcadia sailed from Southampton on a 17 day cruise around the Med, We were not disappointed in our choice. The whole experience was a pleasurable one. We experienced all of the dining options and were not disappointed with any of the food we consumed. The service...

Title: Disabled. Summary: Both my husband and I had a wonderful time on Arcadia with excellent ports of call. The only disadvantage I found was the problems I encountered trying to get on deck three. My husband is in a wheelchair and the outside doors were really heavy. Also there is an incline before I could start to prop open the doors. Another point for those who need disabled toilets is the lack of them on deck 9....

Title: Stunning Norway Summary: Norwegian scenery spectacular, theatre entertainment first class, food and waiters excellent, photographs too expensive but good quality. Arcadia looking a bit tired in places and had a big problem with blocked toilets both in cabins and public areas. This affected us as a party of 6 as one cabin toilet was blocked on the second day and had not been resolved when we disembarked 6 days later. It was very disappointingly handled and spoilt the...
