P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Title: Panama Canal Cruise Summary: Returned from a great cruise from San Francisco through the Panama Canal and back to Southampton on Arcadia. Some parts of ship could do with attention, eg. Carpet & curtains in cabin a bit tired. Balcony needs some paint. Otherwise the food, entertainment, service and ports all very good. Be interesting to do the Panama Canal in a couple of years when the new locks are in use. Only home a week and in need...

Title: Arcadia World Cruise – Southampton to Auckland 5th January to 11 March 2013 Summary: Both my husband and I agree that this was one of the best cruises we have been on and when it came time to leave the ship in Auckland we were sorry to leave Arcadia and wished we had booked the full world cruise. The service given by our cabin steward and waiters in the Meridian restaurant were excellent. On the whole the food served both in the main restaurant and Belvedere self-service was the...

Title: Caribbean No Fly Summary: This was our 8th cruise and our 2nd booked with Bolsover notwithstanding we are a couple of English origin who have lived in Edinburgh for the last 20 years. Southampton is not therefore the most convenient site for the UKs premier cruise terminal. This was a first in two respects. Our first cruise without the children and our first with P&O and an “adult only” cruise at that. Booking with Bolsover was again both professional...

Title: REVIEW OF ARCADIA XMAS/NEW YEAR 2012 Summary: My wife and I have just returned from this Arcadia cruise which was our 5th with P&O. All booking arrangements by Bolsover were excellent as usual and we had an enjoyable time with a good itinerary, lovely weather and excellent, warm friendly service throughout. There were the usual moans from some fellow passengers about standards slipping, but we thought the quality and choice of food in the Meridian restaurant was always good and often very...

Title: Atlantic, Carribean Summary: We boarded our coach to Southamton on time excellent journey. The boarding procedure was very good. We finaly received the last of our luggage at 8 pm. The itinary was changed a few days before sailing which left us with just half a day in The Azores and an afternoon in Maderia this was not good enough it spoilt the enjoyment of both Islands. We had an obstructed view cabin wich was very nice every...

Title: rocky oceana Summary: We loved the Oceana, atrium one of the best, shows were very good, well, most of them anyway, food good, but, in need of refurbish but still quite good, staff friendly, cabin steward very nice. Now the bad bit, the ship started rocking & rolling from the time we left southampton, very uncomfortable, some people said that they didn’t have the stableizers out as it uses more fuel,( don’t know how true that was ), at times we had a job to...

Title: Motion Sickness Summary: Oh dear, how unfortunate! We have just returned from a ten night stay on the Arcadia and we, like other regular ƒ??cruisersƒ?? wonƒ??t be going back onboard again unless P&O sort out the stabilisation of the vessel. Lovely environment, great staff and service. Great food and entertainment. A ship with everything going for it apart from the fact that it moves about like a Disney rollercoaster, even when the sea was calm! To add to...

Title: Atlantic Summary: We embarked on Arcadia from Southampton on a wet and miserable friday in October looking forward to 10 nights of better weather. Unfortunately we were to be very disapointed. Our voyage through the Bay of Biscay was pretty calm and the weather seemed to be picking up as we got further south raising out hopes. Our first port of call was Lisbon. The day started sunny so off we went into the town. The shuttle...

Title: cruise to LISBON,CADIZ, CASABLANCA,GIBRALTAR.OPORTO Summary: MY WIFE & I GENERALLY ENJOYED CRUISING ON THE ARCADIA & FOUND OUR MINI-SUITE VERY COMFORTABLE. THE SHIP ITSELF IS MOST IMPRESSIVE & PROVIDES EXCELLENT ON BOARD FACILITIES INCLUDING IMPECCABLE SERVICE. IN THIS CONTEXT OUR TABLE WAITERS RAVI & JOE ARE PARTICULARLY TO BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR SUPERB SERVICE TO TABLE 185. THE ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENING WAS ALSO FIRST CLASS, THE HEADLINERS WRE CONSIDERED OF WEST END STANDARD & MICKEY ZANY KEPT EVERYONE AMUSED....

Title: Another enjoyable cruise on Arcadia Summary: Went on the Atlantic Coast cruise with my husband and brother-in-law. Apart from the weather we really enjoyed ourselves. We were a bit worried about recent negative reviews but we had no problems on board. Few little gripes – drink prices higher than last year and slight drop in standard of food, but service was excellent and attentive. Excursions a bit pricey. Entertainment – Headliners first class, as were cruise director and staff. Beatles tribute...

Title: Almost perfect holiday Summary: The holiday was very good almost perfect, the only thing was that we asked specially for an unobstructed balcony cabin. We were given D74 unfortunately it had the top on the lifeboat and a large couple of lamps obstructing our view. Very disappointing when we paid extra to have an unobstructed view. Apart from that the holiday was excellenet and a good tonic for my wife who was recovering from some operations.

Title: Good Ship, good cruise Summary: Having read previous reports of poor food and entertainment I must say that things have improved. Everyone I spoke to agreed that the food was of a high standard. Entertainment was varied and we (a group of 4) always found something of interest to do. So, a thumbs up from us. It was our first time on Arcadia and some who have been on her before commented on the need for a bit of an...

Title: J210 Central Mediterranean Summary: I would recomend anyone to take the Central Med cruise especially if stopping at Koper and Kotor. The views and scenery were stunning, the ships company could not do enough for you and the ship itself was absolotely stable no matter what the weather. An experience not to be missed was the entrance to Venice past the Grand Cannal and St Mark’s which I understand may be diverted to the back channels so that you...

Title: Good cruise, but poor entertainment Summary: We cruised on the Arcadia in July 2012. This was our second cruise having been on the Ventura before in 2009. As I work in a school we can only cruise in school holidays. We chose a family cruise on Ventura, so thought we would try an adult only cruise this time on Arcadia. It came as a bit of a surprise that the average age on this cruise was 61, the lowest for Arcadia’s...

Title: EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL Summary: The fjords were wonderful, the weather was OK (perhaps a bit early in the season for Norway), and the cruise ship lived up to expectations. I myself have cruised quite a number of times before, but for my 2 companions it was their first experience of cruising, and they are now hooked. They were very impressed with the ship and with the organisation by P & O. Timings were excellent, the food was plentiful (as...

Title: Norway Fjords Summary: We cruised on Arcadia for the first time & in an inside cabin as well. This was quite spacious & better than exoected. Plenty of wardrobe space. After leaving Southampton on 27th may and the Channel we encountered a fog bank which lasted until mid afternoon on the Monday. Seas were flat. Our first port was Bergen and not that large. We enjoyed the ride up the finicular railway and the views. From there we...

Title: 12 nighf CANARY ISLAND cruise Summary: This has been our 1st cruise & could not have been better. My wife is disabled & uses an electric scooter the ship is totally disabled friendley except for the femail toilet on deck 12,which entrance hump is to high & scooters “ground” on it. We have said condition average for the ship as it does require a bit of TLC which it will get at the end of this year when it is to...
