P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Motion Sickness

Oh dear, how unfortunate! We have just returned from a ten night stay on the Arcadia and we, like other regular ƒ??cruisersƒ?? wonƒ??t be going back onboard again unless P&O sort out the stabilisation of the vessel. Lovely environment, great staff and service. Great food and entertainment. A ship with everything going for it apart from the fact that it moves about like a Disney rollercoaster, even when the sea was calm! To add to...

Atlantic

We embarked on Arcadia from Southampton on a wet and miserable friday in October looking forward to 10 nights of better weather. Unfortunately we were to be very disapointed. Our voyage through the Bay of Biscay was pretty calm and the weather seemed to be picking up as we got further south raising out hopes. Our first port of call was Lisbon. The day started sunny so off we went into the town. The shuttle...

MY WIFE & I GENERALLY ENJOYED CRUISING ON THE ARCADIA & FOUND OUR MINI-SUITE VERY COMFORTABLE. THE SHIP ITSELF IS MOST IMPRESSIVE & PROVIDES EXCELLENT ON BOARD FACILITIES INCLUDING IMPECCABLE SERVICE. IN THIS CONTEXT OUR TABLE WAITERS RAVI & JOE ARE PARTICULARLY TO BE COMMENDED FOR THEIR SUPERB SERVICE TO TABLE 185. THE ENTERTAINMENT IN THE EVENING WAS ALSO FIRST CLASS, THE HEADLINERS WRE CONSIDERED OF WEST END STANDARD & MICKEY ZANY KEPT EVERYONE AMUSED....

Another enjoyable cruise on Arcadia
By Joan Cutler on 12 November 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Went on the Atlantic Coast cruise with my husband and brother-in-law. Apart from the weather we really enjoyed ourselves. We were a bit worried about recent negative reviews but we had no problems on board. Few little gripes – drink prices higher than last year and slight drop in standard of food, but service was excellent and attentive. Excursions a bit pricey. Entertainment – Headliners first class, as were cruise director and staff. Beatles tribute...

Almost perfect holiday
By Ralph Morrell on 02 November 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

The holiday was very good almost perfect, the only thing was that we asked specially for an unobstructed balcony cabin. We were given D74 unfortunately it had the top on the lifeboat and a large couple of lamps obstructing our view. Very disappointing when we paid extra to have an unobstructed view. Apart from that the holiday was excellenet and a good tonic for my wife who was recovering from some operations.

Good Ship, good cruise
By Malcolm Bevan on 06 September 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Having read previous reports of poor food and entertainment I must say that things have improved. Everyone I spoke to agreed that the food was of a high standard. Entertainment was varied and we (a group of 4) always found something of interest to do. So, a thumbs up from us. It was our first time on Arcadia and some who have been on her before commented on the need for a bit of an...

J210 Central Mediterranean

I would recomend anyone to take the Central Med cruise especially if stopping at Koper and Kotor. The views and scenery were stunning, the ships company could not do enough for you and the ship itself was absolotely stable no matter what the weather. An experience not to be missed was the entrance to Venice past the Grand Cannal and St Mark’s which I understand may be diverted to the back channels so that you...

Good cruise, but poor entertainment
By Julia Ford on 23 August 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

We cruised on the Arcadia in July 2012. This was our second cruise having been on the Ventura before in 2009. As I work in a school we can only cruise in school holidays. We chose a family cruise on Ventura, so thought we would try an adult only cruise this time on Arcadia. It came as a bit of a surprise that the average age on this cruise was 61, the lowest for Arcadia’s...

EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL
By June Cheseldine on 11 June 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

The fjords were wonderful, the weather was OK (perhaps a bit early in the season for Norway), and the cruise ship lived up to expectations. I myself have cruised quite a number of times before, but for my 2 companions it was their first experience of cruising, and they are now hooked. They were very impressed with the ship and with the organisation by P & O. Timings were excellent, the food was plentiful (as...

We cruised on Arcadia for the first time & in an inside cabin as well. This was quite spacious & better than exoected. Plenty of wardrobe space. After leaving Southampton on 27th may and the Channel we encountered a fog bank which lasted until mid afternoon on the Monday. Seas were flat. Our first port was Bergen and not that large. We enjoyed the ride up the finicular railway and the views. From there we...

This has been our 1st cruise & could not have been better. My wife is disabled & uses an electric scooter the ship is totally disabled friendley except for the femail toilet on deck 12,which entrance hump is to high & scooters “ground” on it. We have said condition average for the ship as it does require a bit of TLC which it will get at the end of this year when it is to...

FANTASTIC ARCADIA
By STUART MARTIN on 03 June 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

We have just returned from a 17 night cruise to the Eastern Med. Everything about the Arcadia was fantastic. The cabin, the service and the on-board entertainment were all excellent. The dining….well…. I suffer from a mushroom allergy but this was no problem At dinner I was given a menu for the followin night’s dinner and told to pick whatever I wanted. No matter if mushrooms were part of the dish of my choice….I received...

Cruise to the Canaries
By Judy Kendall on 17 May 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

We travelled on Arcadia on the cruise to the Canaries after she returned from the World Cruise. Having been on over 40 cruises over the years with P and O, we were probably doing a big comparison with others we have enjoyed more. We were with a group of 16 golfers and thoroughly enjoyed our games ashore. The staff on board were very attentive, polite and friendly, but because the ship was struck down with...

Lost its polish
By Peter picthall on 04 May 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Cabin steward was excellent as were the waiters and wine steward. Food average and in several cases uneatable. On many instances peas were served which could not be eaten they were so hard and the description of some of the dishes left a lot to the imagine and were served without much resemblance to the description on the menu. Cabin fine but not large as they trimmed the cabin sizes to give more balcony space...

Melbourne to Southampton
By David Barwick on 04 May 2012
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

A potentially good voyage back to Southampton from Melbourne was marred by: questionable hygiene (hand cleansing)on the part of passengers and some crew members; variable quality of food; filling of vacant ‘space’ for short hops in the Antipodes, which attracted some people who thought they were attending a BBQ; over-zealous and unnecessary security measures which, until challenged, bordered on rudeness by security staff when searching returning ‘suspects’ – passengers I mean!!

this cruise was full of hen & stag parties which Bolsover did not advise us of!!!! one hen party had a 1.5 metre blow up penis which was bought on board fully inflated and was being kicked down the staircase of the Atrium on the Saturday night. The Jaccuzi hot tub was full of drunken men drinking bottles of beer and thowing the beer over each other and nearby staff did nothing to stop this....

This was my first cruise and I was very impressed with the crew and the ship, and also the whole process of boarding and how quick and easy it was considering how many passengers they had to board. I shared a larger inside cabin on G deck, it was very spacious with a sofa and plenty of wardrobe space. I was a little concerned about being underneath the entertainment deck and the nightclub but I...

This was my first ever cruise and i found it thoroughly enjoyable. We drove down to Southampton and took advantage of the CPS Parking. We arrived directly outside the Mayflower terminal where our car keys were taken and the car parked for us. We then made our way into the Departures Lounge which i found to be very well organised and a very relaxed check-in procedure. Here we were given our cabin account cards and...

We travelled on the 06th December 2011 for 3 nights on board Arcadia. When we first arrived into Southampton I was surprised at how easy it is to park and check in. The queue went down very quickly and the check in staff were extremely friendly- they gave a very good first impression of P&O. Although the ship doesn’t offer the WOW factor, it is extremely clean and the staff on board were very friendly.As...
