P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Enjoyed the cruise

This was the first time on Arcadia, we had an inside cabin which was kept clean by our steward, but found the drawers were difficult to open, and cabin needs some TLC as in some other area’s around the ship! Very disappointed with the venue for captains welcome and cocktail parties, in the swimming pool covered area which was very echoey and could not hear the captain speak properly and was very impersonal! We did...

Dubai to Southampton 19 days
By R Oliver on 27 April 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Arrived Dubai airport which was chaos, around 3,000 trying to get through security and no directions of which queue to use. Breakfast at hotel and then onto the ship, by the time we boarded it was late afternoon. (poor organisation) We had booked a cabin with restricted view but this was with an obliterated view due to a large life boat across the large window which is repeated along the whole ship. (Do not book a...

Hong Kong to Southampton

My wife and I flew out to Hong Kong to join the tail end of Arcadia World Cruise 2018. We flew with BA from Heathrow T5, a surprising haven of tranquillity, and had a comfortable night in our hotel. After a good breakfast, we joined our fellow passengers for embarkation. I honestly thought there may be quite a few of us but did not expect 640 souls. Embarkation took an age, nowhere as easy as...

Singapore to Dubai (part of world cruise) Emirates flights were excellent Crown Plaza excellent Arcadia is a Lovely smaller ship, we had a great holiday, the service and food excellent as usual. It’s shame about the visa problems for Goa such a mix-up. Disembarkation in Dubai was a shambles and the Novotel was poor.

World cruise or bus stop service?
By John on 09 March 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

The concept of a “World Cruise” is somewhat undermined when the voyage is split into “segments”. On board account has to be settled many times, hundreds of new passengers to assimilate. The restrictions placed upon on-board purchases of alcohol are most frustrating, and retrograde. Had it not been for the first rate attitude and service provided by crew members, I doubt if we would consider P & O again.

Quite agree with the previous reviewer there was definitely an air of class distinction emanating from the passengers going ‘Southampton to Southampton’. Us and them! We loved San Fransisco spending four days there. The cruise started well with good visits to two islands in Hawaii then cyclone Gita came on the scene. Will we dock at A Mercian Samoa?? Yes, we did. Will we dock at Tonga?? No, we didn’t. Captain did say he looked...

World Cruise Single Leggers

One of the main reasons for booking this cruise was to visit Hawaii and in particular, Pearl Harbour, which was achieved and was great. San Francisco, Auckland and Sydney all good. The Arcadia cabin was comfortable if a tad shabby (chips and marks in the bath, large picture mark on the wall). Clear evidence of cost-cutting by P & O but then again they’re not Regent or Silversea. Disappointed we were unable to visit two...

Caribbean cruise 2017
By Brian Clarke on 18 January 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

The ship is in need of some updating. P&O missed out when they did away with the aft decks and built extra cabins on. It has removed a popular facility i.e. a large pool and plenty of sheltered sitting areas. The quality of the food declines with each holiday; very few edible cakes at afternoon tea although pies and sausage rolls were a welcome innovation. The entertainment was excellent although some was not our particular...

Christmas & New Year Cruise 2017/8
By Malcolm Richards on 18 January 2018
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Although we have done many cruises over the years with different cruise lines and ships this was our first Christmas cruise. We really enjoyed every minute, the ship was decorated through out, even outside the cabin but next time (yes we have booked for this December on the same ship) we would take a cabin door decoration to stick on for extra decoration and blue tac to put up the Christmas cards we took. The...

Athough we enjoyed our holiday we would like to point out cabin no. E119 and E121 we both extremely noisey, we complained and we offered ‘ear plugs’ as they knew they were because they are opposite the funnel !!! If you want your customers to be happy dont recommend these two.

I approached this cruise with some trepidation as after 24 years of cruising with P & O with my husband, this was the first time following his death in July 2017. From the moment I stepped aboard I felt ‘at home’. I truly cannot fault my holiday! From the ‘best Captain ever’ throughout the ship’s company the care and service was first class👏👏. Throughout our/my years of cruising we/I have enjoyed the superb service of...

Select dinning an expensive disappointment. Balcony needed refreshing As always dress code needs firmer control, should be implemented throughout the ship at the appropriate time. Rarely see senior officers around ship. Restaurant managers and senior stewards rarely visit tables. Why fill in a questionnaire?

Our first visit to the Carriabean
By PATRICIA HUBBARD on 27 December 2017
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

This cruise was to have been an early celebration of my husband’s 90th birthday – but it didn’t feel like that. Perhaps it was our fault for undertaking our first cruise in the Carribean in November/December, but we felt like undertaking something/where we hadn’t been before. This being the case the altered itinerary because of hurricane damage made no difference to us. The cruise company could not be held responsible for weather conditions. We didn’t...

We Had a Fab time even though …………………..

We had a marvellous cruise on the Arcadia in July last year visiting Venice amongst other wonderful ports of call. We recognised that Arcadia had serious plumbing problems and at that time a bad smell around the entrance to The Globe but we read that it was going in for a refit and so booked our first visit to the Caribbean on the strength of that knowledge. We sailed from Southampton on 22nd of November...

We had an enjoyable cruise and mer some lovely people onboard. We really enjoyed eating in the Sindhu & Ocean Grill restaurants. Would be really great if they had a Glass House similar to that on Azura & Ventura. The major problems throughout the cruise were the ladies public toilets being out of order and general water leaks around the ship. Overall food was good and as usual the staff were excellant.

I haven’t cruised since 2003 after my wife passed away it got too expensive. However recently I was told I couldn’t fly due to a medical condition and decided a cruise from/to Southampton was the answer and enable me to get some sun on weary bones. I was apprehensive about the number of sea days but there was plenty to do, some very interesting lectures and talks, and no problem with getting a sunbed for...

Needs a major refit
By David Scott on 08 November 2017
P&O Cruises | Arcadia Reviews

Overall we enjoyed our cruise holiday. However to be critical Arcadia is in need of a major refit and refurbishment. Our balcony on E deck looked quite grubby. The handrail was devoid of any varnish the floor needed a good clean as did the aluminium surrounds and the white dividing panels had rust runs down them. There were many rust spots on various metal surfaces too. The cabin interiors are beginning to look quite drab. Soft...

Very interesting time had by all!!

Hope you are prepared for this! We started well, a very quick check in and cases already in cabin when we arrived. It was windy and cold when we left so no real sail away party. Usual lifeboat drill, with cabin cards being checked to make sure everyone attended (a bit of a shambles in the theatre with some people who didn’t show their card and never got asked for it). Then back to complete...
