P&O Cruises Ship Review Arcadia Reviews

Arcadia is a mid-sized cruise ship exclusively for adults. Combining the chic with the classic, Arcadia offers a wonderful blend of features. With one main restaurant, a grill restaurant from Marco Pierre White and the luxury of Sindhu, in addition to an expansive spa with thermal suite and hydro-therapy pool, a three-tiered theater and a boutique cinema, she offers more than a hint of extravagance.

Title: Good time Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed NY (our favourite), Boston and Quebec. The little inbetween ports: Newport, Portland, Saint John, Halifax, Sydney were interesting but not rivetting. The Atlantic crossing, there and back, was challenging but fun. Arcadia and it’s crew and staff were as good as ever – we have no complaints whatsoever. The evening entertainment was OK only. One passenger complained to us about the food in the Meridian restaurant and by way of the internet...

Title: P&O get it right them get it wrong Summary: P&O got it absolutely spot on when we arrived in New York. Immigration and disembarkation was smooth and well organised. We were well informed by staff and it was a pleasant experience. However disembarkation in Quebec was an absolute shambles. Only one gangplank was available for use although port staff had attempted to position another. The angle achieved was dangerous and even professional mountaineers would have found it almost impossible to use. More appropriate to...

Title: Summer in Iceland Summary: This was our second cruise on Arcadia. A mid size ship that still has baths in the balcony rooms, which I do like. The cruise stopped at Belfast first. We went to the Titanic Quarter which is very interesting. THe next stop Stornoway. Unfortunately the weather was against us here and the tenders stopped leaving the ship around lunch time. We were already off and still had our trip. Reykjavik was next for an overnight...

Title: My First Cruise! Summary: I have never been on holiday before – even in the UK and I decided that this year I would treat myself and as I have limited mobility that a cruise would probably be the best way for me to proceed. After visiting Bolsover Cruise Club in May I took the plunge – not literally of course, and booked to cruise the Norwegian Fjords the first week in September. As I planned to go alone...

Title: Iceland Cruise Summary: Our first trip on Arcadia since 2009. After a trouble free embarkation with no waiting we got straight on the ship and our cabin was ready for use. Cruising with P&O may not be the most luxurious but we like it It’s lie coming home. Arcadia is our favourite ship in their fleet particularly as they now have Freedom Dining which we prefer. The service we received all over the ship was excellent. Our deuce...

Title: Cruise experience and disability access Summary: For people with mobility issues (I’m a full time wheelchair user) a cruise holiday presents the ideal and accessible way to travel. This was our 5th cruise (4 with P&O and 1 with Celebrity) and therefore had a good idea of what to expect… The booking process and access issues all handled, as ever, very smoothly by Bolsover which really does make the booking process painless…other than having to pay! ? They do a great...

Title: The baltic Summary: Another good cruise on Arcadia with regard to comfort, cleanliness, service, friendliness, food etc but was very disappointed with most excursions. Told P&O but to date had no response. I would not recommend this particular cruise to my friends and family.

Title: Special year Summary: An excellent holiday. Ship – the Arcadia was not quite as sparkling as other P&O cruise ships chosen. However, nothing to detract from the experience. Most importantly infection control was adhered too so nasty “bugs” to our knowledge occurred. All other aspects quite in order for us. Home safe & sound with happy memories. Trips – all “minimal walking” for us. The “trip options” brochure details were accurate. Shuttle bus and/or Big red bus tours...

Title: Cruise Summary: Found the ship had good points and not so good points. Liked the covered pool and dining areas especially the Belvedere and also freedom dining. Thought the cinema was small and did not like having to book the day before. Appreciated the help with my dietary problems and they helped with more choices. Plenty of sun beds but none in the shade as it was so hot and humid when we went. Was very disappointed...

Title: Happiness marred by simple things Summary: Excellent cruise, marred by a couple of niggles. a) the refusal to accept that 2 people sharing a cabin but living 60 miles apart need separate information both before and on the cruise b) by the fact that wet towels were folded up every day meaning we diodn’t know which belonged to whom and they didnt dry. WE did sort this but then 3 changes of cabin steward menat hte message didn’t get passed down....

Title: Love of cruising regenerated Summary: So glad to have chosen Arcadia for latest cruise, friendly ship both crew and fellow cruisers whether first timers or experienced travellers. Recent cruises have been on larger ships but Arcadia is just right in every way for us – big enough to have everything you want and small enough to have that friendly spirit throughout. Arcadia will be our next ship for sure ( or maybe Aurora! ). Fabulous destination – resisted the thought...

Title: (Adult Only) Arcadia Fjords Cruise Summary: This was our second cruise aboard Arcadia, the first time was about 10 years ago in the Caribbean so it was great to be back on board. This is an adults only ship and we enjoyed the ambience of it. The staff were as friendly and attentive as we remembered, we even recognised a member of bar staff from a previous cruise on another P&O ship. We chose this cruise as we felt we’d exhausted...

Title: Definitely A Must Do Cruise The Norwegian Fjords Summary: Norway what a beautiful Country. Had an idea what we would expect to see and it was spectacular. Never seen breath taking scenery like it. I don’t know where else in the world that would beat this . So if you’ve never done a cruise and you don’t want a sunbathing holiday make this your first. I will definitely be going back. I spoke to some other passengers and they have been doing the Norwegian...
