P&O Cruises Ship Review Aurora Reviews

Aurora is a classic ship with an elegant tiered stern and long bow. Scheduled for an interior overhaul in early 2019, she will return to the seas as the third adult-only ship in the P&O Cruise fleet. At her heart is a water feature which forms the centrepiece of her atrium, one of her signature features. You’ll also find a range of bars, a cinema, theatre and an outdoor pool with retractable roof. Dining highlights include The Glass House and The Beach House.

Return visit to our favorite ship

Well we were last on Aurora 2011 .. and last on P&O in 2016. Since 2011 Aurora has had a refit and seems they were ready for the Adults only years as we noticed mostly tables for two now in the Horizon Resturant (Self-serve) Raffle also seems to have a different layout with more tables for two. So the ship was looking good. We were in a balcony cabin on A deck so being Oct...

Cruise To The Canaries
By Eric Linsey on 05 November 2018
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

All of the crew were very friendly and efficient. I certainly would travel again on this ship if the destinations were right and the price. Whilst on board we checked on a future cruise which was for a period of 17 days, four days longer than the one we have just come back from. But for the same room (Deluxe Balcony) and the same period of time but one year ahead, the cost was going...

Appalling cooking, good ingredients but the restaurant evening meals the worst ever experienced. Lunchtime restaurant and buffet food excellent but unrecognisable dishes that too often had to be sent back. Very disappointing

Baltic Cruise

The first time we have sailed with P&O and had an inside cabin. Our overall view was that we had a lovely, really interesting holiday. The ship was clean and the cabin was ok albeit a little cramped. The beds could be improved and for two weeks, the inside cabin was fine. There was a really good ambience about the ship. The staff and the service were excellent. The food at all venues was very...

The ports of call we’re very good. The highlight was St Peterburg and it was the main reason for us going on this cruise. The only set back was we had booked a tour to Peterhof Palace. Only to find out that you could not take a wheelchair in.

Destinations were excellent, really enjoyed Skagen. Prices charged for shore excursions are extortionate. Food in Freedom Dining was not special. Price of alcoholic drinks is excessive considering the ship is a duty-free zone. The cheese board was very poor. By 8:00 pm stilton, brie and camembert were hard to come by or totally off. There are dozens and dozens of cheeses, to be offered Red Leicester and Cheddar night after night is a big disappointment....

Bliss in the Baltics
By Chris & Heather on 21 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Baltics, both on board and in port (other than Kiel which is not worth a visit really). We tried Freedom Dining for the first time and actually preferred it to Club dining so have chosen it for our next cruise. The P&O staff were very helpful when we had a problem with intolerable propellor noise and vibration on the first night in the last aft cabin on C...

Just right size ship

P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

We have just completed our second cruise on Aurora and find that we love this ship, we have heard people say they have tried some of the larger cruise ships and they find that it is far too far to walk to get to places. This, however, did not affect us yet, maybe in a few more years. There is so much choice, different theatres with all kinds of activities and music presentations, along with...

Wonderful Baltic Cruise

First cruise on Aurora. Allowing for its future ‘upgrade’, found cabin carpet was scruffy and limited dressing facilities for the second person near cupboards. Otherwise, totally enjoyable and efficient management and service for a most interesting visit to the Baltic countries, particularly pre-booked excursions.

Another wonderful cruise enjoyed by myself and 3 other family members with great ports of call. Spoilt only by what I can only describe as the worst entertainment programme in my 41 cruises with P & O.

Our favourite ship

P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

This was our third cruise on Aurora and whilst we enjoyed our stay on her she was looking a bit tired, although I understand she is ready for a refit next year in readiness for the change to adults only. We took our three teenage granddaughters on their first cruise and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Aurora did not disappoint. The meals were varied and well presented. The waiting on staff and wine waiter were...

It had been 9 years since our last cruise with P&O, (we have been cruising with Princess). But this was a family cruise, 8 of us including my daughter, husband & two children 10 & 6 years old, my son & his wife who had never cruised before and myself & husband. This cruise to the Canary’s ticked all the boxes. I couldn’t find any fault from the start, parking at Southampton and embarkation was...

A fabulous fun-filled 17 night cruise to the Med aboard Aurora. Beautiful ship, great atmosphere and some of the best staff on a cruise ship we have ever met. Special mention to the wonderful staff in the Reef chidren’s club who were simply outstanding. Our 5 year old son had a brilliant time. He also enjoyed the new Legends at Sea with rugby star Scott Quinnell – who we cannot praise highly enough. A great...

Our favourite ship didn’t let us down but………

P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

The Aurora is our family’s favourite ship despite The Glass House. We haven’t met anyone who thinks it’s an improvement on Cafe Bordeaux. Our annual family cruise was a great success, the food was excellent, the service was wonderful, the Kids Club was brilliant, the entertainment was ok but we have had better. We all know cruises are dearer in August but we’ve had better entertainment in February when paying less per night. Musically Kool...

A wonderful holiday on a wonderful ship. Yes, she’s now a little bit careworn in parts but is due for a refit early next year. The food was excellent in both quality and choice and the service was invariably first-class. Our cabin stewardess, Mariam, was terrific and had everything spotless and tidy. Our only gripe was that my wife is a keen line dancer and the line dancing sessions (which could have been more frequent...

Staff are fantastic unless you ask for something a little out of the ordinary. 7. We moved cabins due to a...

Had a lovely cruise on this ship to celebrate my cousin renewing her vows and celebrating their golden wedding. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Cabin was very well presented and clean. My only downside was the entertainment was not as good as it has previously been . We had a lovely captain who kept us informed daily . Staff in dining rooms were very good and nothing was too much trouble for...
