As an adult-only ship, Aurora is a classic ship with an elegant tiered stern and longbow. At her heart is a water feature which forms the centrepiece of her atrium, one of her signature features. You’ll also find a range of bars, a cinema, theatre and an outdoor pool with retractable roof. Dining highlights include The Glass House and The Beach House.

Having completed our 37 cruise with P&O we would like to report this a very poorer had been given a cabin that did not w effort both by P &O and Bolsover.Having booked this cruise in August 2018 we received notice of our cabin three weeks before sailing. Then on 1st April all changed I thought it was an April fools joke, the cabin did not exsist. We where given the smallest balcony cabin we...

First cruise after refit to adult only
By NEIL WARREN on 02 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

Went on Aurora after refit sailing to Canaries and Azores on 8th April. Whilst holiday was ok I wonder why she sailed with still work to do.. Carpets were being laid in some cabins on our deck A and furniture installed. The gym was out of action for part of the cruise although we had been advised of this. In addition, the ship had to undergo engine tests at sea-bringing it up to full speed...

Let down by early start to refit
By Alan Winsor on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

The cruise itself was as good a standard as we had previously experienced, however P&O’s decision to start working on the refit whist passengers were still on board was unacceptable. Early morning disturbance, lifts taken out of service, items being removed from cabins and public areas being stripped was the start, then whilst passengers were waiting to be called to disembark having furniture removed from around us. To cap it all builders were waiting by...

Northern lights

Just like the Loch Ness monster, often talked about not rarely seen. The cruise was up to the normal standard for P&O, they do not know how to provide decent meals for vegetarians. We went on a tour called champagne reception and lodge viewing for the lights. The approach to the so called lodge was very dangerous with no path indicated at the top of a cable car ride, just a steep slope covered in...

First time cruise

We ventured off on our cruise ‘ in search of the northern lights’ with some trepidation. I was worried about being seasick, my husband was worried about all the dressing up and being told what to do!. We both returned with our fears unfounded having experienced a force 8 gale and all of the formal evenings 😁 The entire experience was phenomenal. Outstanding service, lovely food, well organised trips and stupendous scenery. We go with...

This was our second cruise to Norway, the first with P&O. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, from embarking to leaving everybody worked hard to ensure we had a great time, in particular our cabin steward Boaventure and waiter Joel Fernendez (& team) were excellent. We did encounter rough seas and appreciated being mid ships not being the best sailors in the world, Captain Pembridge and officers kept us up to date with the weather which put...

Aurora on ice, stirred not shaken

P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

We did the “Northern Lights ” cruise at the tail end of February and the Nordic gods were with us. On the whole the weather was generally good; at sea the sky was blue and clear, whilst in the northern ports it snowed heavily which added to the ambiance. Coming home the fair weather stayed with us until Stavanger, but by then it was all over bar the shouting. “Aurora” treated us some magnificent sights...

More ticks off my bucket list
By Veronika Pond on 08 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

This was our second time with Aurora and our fifth with P&O and generally the boat had changed very little. As always the staff are the star of the show. The ship experienced problems in Tenerife which dogged us throughout the cruise so that we arrived late at some ports and one destination was missed out entirely. The Carnival ports were just an excuse for us to spend more money with them – not impressed...

Amazon – great cruise
By Bernard Taylor on 06 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

My first cruise on Aurora and amazed, speaking to numerous people, how so many always cruised on this ship. Soon found out why …… food and service was brilliant and, after many cruises, consider the dining experience to be one of the best. The waiters at dinner (fixed dining) were excellent and couldn’t do enough for our table. A minor hiccup over information given for one of our ports of call, which caused me a...

The bathroom was tired and old with the coating on the shower and sink peeling off. We thought the shower floor had mould but it was the top plastic coating peeling off. I know the ship is due for an update soon. Also, we couldn’t get into the jacuzzis as the children were ALWAYS in them, I don’t want to sit in water kids have been in. It was a Xmas cruise and although I...

Fabulous cruise just what we needed after moving house. Quiet and relaxing. Cabin was lovely although not very good weather to enjoy our balcony. We tried all three restaurants and even won the raffle. Not impressed with the Glass House however, fiddly little jars and unable to get the food out because of not being given a teaspoon so try getting Patti out with knife and fork. I did mention this to Chef who said...

Well we were last on Aurora 2011 .. and last on P&O in 2016. Since 2011 Aurora has had a refit and seems they were ready for the Adults only years as we noticed mostly tables for two now in the Horizon Resturant (Self-serve) Raffle also seems to have a different layout with more tables for two. So the ship was looking good. We were in a balcony cabin on A deck so being Oct...

Cruise To The Canaries

P&O Cruises | Aurora Reviews

All of the crew were very friendly and efficient. I certainly would travel again on this ship if the destinations were right and the price. Whilst on board we checked on a future cruise which was for a period of 17 days, four days longer than the one we have just come back from. But for the same room (Deluxe Balcony) and the same period of time but one year ahead, the cost was going...

The first time we have sailed with P&O and had an inside cabin. Our overall view was that we had a lovely, really interesting holiday. The ship was clean and the cabin was ok albeit a little cramped. The beds could be improved and for two weeks, the inside cabin was fine. There was a really good ambience about the ship. The staff and the service were excellent. The food at all venues was very...
