Title: Spain & France Summary: This was my third cruise with Fred Olsen, and actually my second time on Braemar. The last cruise on Braemar was actually my first ever cruise I did and was over 10 years ago, with this in mind I was interested to see how much she had changed. The initial thing I picked up on when walking round the ship was her size, she was bigger from when I was last on board and I...

Title: Fantastic Fred Olsen Cruise Summary: Myself , partner and two year old have recently returned from our first Fred Olsen Cruise. We sailed on Braemar from Southampton visiting spain and bordeaux. The itinerary was brilliant . We had a great time and would highly recommend them. We loved the ship being smaller as we could easily acess all of the areas and felt the staff were all great and personal. The food on board in comparison to other cruise lines...

Title: Bordeaux in the Sunshine Summary: I loved the ship, the food the staff and the ports were beautiful. I would cruise on this ship again. It is an ideal ship for the French Rivers. The target market for this brand is the 50+ age group. This is reflected in the type of entertainment & facilities on-board. It is also a good option for single travellers as the brand offers a friendly, family feel on-board and you see all types of...

Title: Very enjoyable Summary: Just returned from 8-day cruise on the Braemar to the Fjords. We thoroughly enjoyed this cruise the food, the staff and our suite were all excellent. We last travelled with Fred 2 years ago on the Balmoral and were disappointed then with the food but am pleased to say that this year it was much improved. All in all a lovely cruise

Title: Too long at sea for the total distances travelled Summary: The itinerary only made it possible to stop in some ports for only half a day when nearly 2/3 days in one stretch were at sea twice, (Avilles and Vigo ports were to close too each other) Made it so we were “RiverCruising” sometimes in the dark !

Title: Cruise to Spain & Bordeaux Summary: Excellent service as usual, as I have an intolerance to certain foods they are very accommodating, nothing too much trouble. Waiting staff so helpful and some remembered us from our last cruise with them. Choice of ports of call were excellent as they where as close to the main cities as could be. Also found tours where also very good. We have cruised with FO since 2007 and have never felt the need to change...

Title: Rivers of Spain and France Summary: The itinerary made this one of our best cruises ever and we’ve done a lot. Staff shortages in the restaurant made dinner slow and food cold on occasion and it took several attempts to get management to understand that telling staff to work harder wasn’t the solution. But food excellent choice good drinks entertainment and helpfulness of staff generally made this a great holiday.

Title: Spain, Portugal and the Seville fair Summary: On the whole a lovely cruise, friendly helpful staff good entertainment, especially from the Braemar troupe, a couple of the individual acts were not so good, we just avoided those. Plenty of places to sit, I don’t think the ship was at full capacity, we never had any difficulty finding an empty sunbed or a table in one of the bars. We had a balcony cabin on deck seven which was of a good size...

Title: Holiday Summary: This was a very special cruise which excelled all expectations the effort that the crews from the various ships on the 10 September was exceptional and the treasure hunt was good fun. Seville and Malaga were both amazing Almeria and Lisbon were good but could have bypassed Gibraltar for me. Our waiter Jeffrey and his assistant Josef were the best we have had on any cruise. The bridge was enjoyable but disappointing with the number...

Title: Cruise to Iceland and the Faroe Isles Summary: Excellent cruise. Efficient helpful staff, a very clean ship and excellent food. The entertainment was some of the best that I have experienced on board and this was my 18th cruise. Have booked to go again.

Title: Not as good as expected Summary: This was a repeat of a similar cruise up the French and Spanish rivers we took two years ago. The standards are dropping significantly. Most of the fairly average food was tarted up with alcohol to give it some flavour – unfortunately, I can’t digest alcohol without serious side effects and when challenged I received just a shrug of the shoulders and a suggestion to only pick from other few poor choices that I wasn’t...

Title: Great Summary: We have done 30 cruises to date and it is the first time we have cruised with Fred Olsen and were pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the ship and the friendliness of the staff and the food was perhaps the best we have experienced on any cruise. We certainly won’t hesitate in cruising with Fred again.

Title: Trying Out Fred Olsen Over Easter Summary: We were trying out Fred Olsen for the first time with a week long cruise to Ireland over Easter. Our previous sailings had mainly been with P&O. Accepting the ships were smaller and the facilities were thus a bit less, on the whole we had no problem with the ship or the cruise line based on what we encountered. However, whoever drew up the itinerary for this cruise should take a long hard look at...

Title: 6 days to Ireland Summary: The ship is small and very friendly. Food is amazing!! Staff are so courteous and helpful. Would really recommend this ship if you want to relax and unwind. Three eating areas. Library – well stocked for such a small ship. Entertainment very good. There was not a lot of activities but what they provided was excellent. Only “tiny gripe” for us – we went on a shore excursion and came back to the ship after...

Title: Orange blossom Summary: Booked the cruise so we could see the orange blossom. Unfortunately it was late as Spain had a month of solid rain. It was the first time we had been on Braemar for about ten years. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The food, crew and entertainment were very good. Would definitely go again.

Title: Carribean Christmas/New year Summary: Superior balcony cabin was no such thing evening entertainment —-very poor food again never experienced such poor offerings ie fish cakes, FISH AND CHIPS(4 chips) SHEPHERDS PIE FOR EVENING MEALS on disembarkation, a £50 per person charge was made for a 4 hour trip around Barbados plus lunch before being dropped at the airport of course, a complete disaster 4hours turned to 2.5 hours delay in leaving, the lunch was served in a shed similar...

Title: Cruising on a building site with no tv Summary: Braemar Southampton to the Caribbean 6th to 22nd December 2017. Was looking forward to this cruise on a lovely ship out of refit, what a joke. Late boarding in Southampton with no explanation was not a good start. Once on board we found that neither swimming pool and two of the lifts were unusable and the tv did not work. One pool was filled after about a week but the sundeck resembled a building site...

Title: Cruising in the Aegean Sept 11th – 9th Oct 2017 Summary: Cruising on the Braemar was like joining a big family gathering. The ambience is fantastic, some passengers like old friends. The crew are treasures. To be greeted with “oh yes, half coffee, half hot water ma-am” by our waiter Jury after a two year break was unbelievable. The itinerary was good too (after all that’s why we chose it!!). With fantastic weather, good food and entertainment – what more could one want!!
