An enjoyable cruise on Brilliance of the Seas
By Pamela Hughes on 10 July 2017
Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

Enjoyed our aft balcony cabin experience. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Disappointed not to have a breakfast area in MDR for Diamond and above. Now is only for Suite guests and Pinnacle. Also, no ‘Welcome back’ party only the top tier event. Think Royal Caribbean cruises are becoming more casual and only 2 formal nights on this 12 night cruise where we have always had 3 previously. Apart from 1 smart/casual night the rest...

Dress code

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

We did this cruise in May/June 2016 and enjoyed the experience so we would use this company again. However, part of cruising is dressing for dinner either smart/casual or formal. There was a buffet restaurant if this was not to your liking. I thought that since most people made the effort, it was unfair to allow people in ‘beach shirts’, others wearing baseball caps and some with flip-flops into the dining rooms. The staff were...

This Baltic cruise from Harwich was a very good one with great ports of call with plenty of interesting places to visit. The weather was also fantastic which made the holiday. However the Ship was the main disappointment being at least 22 years old our stateroom was a little tired in need of a bit of a refurb. Public areas were good and well maintained. Food on board was good no complaints there. The crew...

Scandinavia and Russian Cruise

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

From the moment we arrived at Harwich Port it was a very quick and efficient service. Staterooms were ready at 13.30 and our cases arrive during the afternoon. The stateroom was clean and was good. The food in th restraurant was as you expect good, the only thing I would say that if you travel with this cruise line there is not much change in the menu from the last cruise we went on last...

Booked cruise for our wedding anniversary, Very easy to book through Bolsover CC (thanks to Lucy) well looked after and kept informed also got an upgrade from inside to large window outside! Brilliance is one of our favourite ships( 4th time), always seem to meet nice people and this cruise was no exception with a great dinner table crowd and an even better schooner bar crowd! Ports of call very good with the crowning glory...

Falling standards

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

We are relatively new to cruising having only done 7 first with RC 8 years ago but in this short time have seen many changes. The food in The Windjammer was the most noticeable repetitive and lacking in choice disappointing too was the menus in the main dining room. We chose “my time” dining option DONT the queues each evening are horrendous RC suggest you make reservations for every night so that takes away the...

Baltic on Brilliance Aug 2013

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

First time on Brilliance of the Seas although second time with Royal Caribbean. Cabin excellent and service received from Steward and all other staff excellent. We felt that the food, although good, lacked variety and certainly did not compare with our experience in the past on Princess Cruises. We were very pleased to see that the majority of dining room guests dressed smartly for dinner every night and on formal evenings many men wore DJs/tuxedos....

What a scam

Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

Never again, $46 for a bottle of wine which you can buy for $7 in supermarket, $8 for indifferent beer, $15 for 2 shuttle bus tickets, waste of time taking our DJ and posh frocks when others are in jeans and baseball caps on formal nights. Lack alternatives if don’t go to evening show.

First Time

We had a bit of a shaky start to our cruise as when we arrived at Birmingham Airport the flight was cancelled due to the severe snow storms in the US. A RC representative was there to meet our party of 10 and while we had a cuppa in the nearby cafe she telephoned around. RC telephoned us and organised to get us by taxi from Birminham to Heathrow and get ona flight to Atlanta...

Wine and dine package
By Kathleen Rutherford on 13 March 2012
Royal Caribbean International | Brilliance of the Seas Reviews

Many fellow cruisers were SHOCKED at the price of wine per botttle. Wine packages for example Gold package – 5 bottles $155 plus 15% gratuity. Is this a sign of the times!!! The food lacked variety but there was more variety in the Windjammer than the Dining Room. Received excellent waiter service on our dining table 525.

Brilliant time on the brilliance.

A lovely ship with a great cruise line but really not totally the best RCI has to offer. The only real complaint was that there was never enough lunch venues. Seaview only opened after lunch shortly before first sitting for evening meal (3.30 onwards) or too late for dinner (9.30pm). The menu now is terrible limited and the same carby generic food twice a day. Soarium cafe also didn’t open until 4pm onwards, again too...

this is the first time for along time that we have cruised on a large ship but the destination (Dubai) dictated what cruise line….. Very noisy party time all of the time..wears a bit thin after the first hour or two. The transfers that were supplied were ok bt we had to find them ..food ok..still allow smoking in the casino and some bars..woul only choose this ship again if the desination dictated so…usualy cruise...
