In the Cruise Mode… Planning a holiday is always charged with anticipation and expectation…especially when it’s your first time cruising. When we were invited by family to join them on the Britannia to the Caribbean in February, we were up for it! What we didn’t know was how serious the business of cruising is, from the places to catch WIFI on land to packing all our gear into 23 kilos for the flight …including all...

After a 13 month wait, Britannia & P&O didn’t disappoint. My Daughter and I loved it all, our cabin, oh a balcony was such a good choice for all the pretty poets of call in the Caribbean, gorgeous food & such a vast choice each night, wonderful staff & service, great entertainment team & shows, love everything Britannia has to offer & can’t wait to sail on her again

Enjoyable Caribbean Cruise on Britannia
By Sarah Kilkie on 25 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, which was our first time on Britannia although we have cruised many times with P&O. We found our balcony cabin (with sofa) comfortable, spacious and with plenty of storage space. The large shower with glass screen was good – although we found the water pressure rather poor. The downside was the very small size of the balcony – very narrow and difficult for 2 people to sit out in comfort....

Trips

P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

Lovely ship… fantastic food and service… but was forever looking at the prices of drinks and trips knowing I had to pay for it all at the end … the trips are very expensive and we were novice cruisers so not familiar with the trips in the countries visited … having a balcony and taking our own drinks was good advice

Lovely Cruise
By Stephanie Pither on 11 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

Just come back from the Caribbean on Britannia, we couldn’t fault, the staff, the food and the cleanliness on this ship, we were made to feel like Kings and Queens. The evening entertainment was good. Lots of first time cruisers so all of the trips booked very quickly, and we couldn’t get on all of the trips we wanted, everything was really booked on day 1. We had a suite which was excellent with a...

Cruise 902a from 19th January 2019

We have been on over 30 cruises with P & O and in our opinion it was the worst food we have ever had. Even after seeing the Restaurant Manager , the section Head Waiter and the Executive Chef it hardly improved. The entertainment was repetitive and hardly different from the last cruises we have been on. We will never go on Britannia again and we feel P & O are becoming too complacent.

Never been a fan of Britannia
By Ronald Craven on 11 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

This is not just a review of Britannia but the whole package. 1) On going back to the cabin on the first night one of our cases was 50 yards down in the centre of passage with padlock smashed off and no one could give me an answer as to how it got there. 2)Some of the waiters acted as though they had just come out of catering school, could not remember which meal belonged...

We have cruised many times and to be fair have been avoiding the Britannia because of its size. And I am so pleased to say our worry was ill-founded. The ship and crew were great. A very nice and relaxing 14 days. We will be arranging to return.

Fabulous Christmas cruise
By Lynda Jones on 14 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

First holiday ever at Christmas. Britannia got it absolutely right and made our Christmas wonderful. Staff were attentive and service was excellent. Food was delicious, especially on Christmas day. A good mix of ages on board from very young to oldish but lovely adult only pool and sun terrace. Entertainment was generally good with a variety of venues and bars. The cabin was great and the steward was always available if needed. Have cruised numerous...

Lovely, but expensive extras
By Margaret Whilde on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We love cruising and really enjoyed this Caribbean one. However, we have noticed there are more cover charges required than ever before. As we were celebrating a 70th birthday, we dined at The Epicurean. Very nice, but not worth the extra £28.00 per person. Similarly The Sindhu, very nice but not worth the extra £20.00 per person. The Limelight £25.00 p.p. extra, Glass House was A La Carte, and the Beach House was £7.50 pp...

Amazing from start to finish
By Elaine Williams on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

After cruising on smaller ships, we had doubts about the size of Britannia, but could not fault it at all. It’s one of the most friendly ships we have been on. The food was excellent, with such a vast choice for the evening menu in the restaurant. Breakfasts in the buffet were plentiful with, again, so much choice. We went to 2 of the fine dining venues, the Shindu Indian restaurant and the Limelight club....

Ok but could have been better.
By David Biddle on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

A week back from a Carribean cruise. The Britannia turned out not to be our favourite P and O ship. The design with no stairs mid ships meant that the lifts were almost always busy, a tiny promenade area (you have to go round nine times to do a mile), the position of the lifeboats sticking out from the side rather than inset as we have experienced on other ships were intrusive and what we...

Caribbean cruise Nov/Dec 2018

The cruise to some beautiful islands was as wonderful as you could imagine. If I had a couple of grouses it would be 1. On Black tie nights people were in the lounges in shorts or jeans and t-shirts. Made evening not so special for those who like the dress up evenings. 2. Sofas round the pools were being used as beds by some people, they were laying out full length, so taking up the...

As first time on a cruise we were like startled rabbits to begin with but soon found our sea legs what an amazing ship staff were amazing nothing too much trouble . There was an abundance of food not too keen on the Indian specialist restaurant, the Epicurian is a must, fantastic. Felt that the pool area was small for the amount of people on the ship, only managed to sit by it once the...

The crew were friendly, helpful and informative. Cabin steward Donald worked tirelessly yet remained friendly and courteous. Entertainment was first class and the ship’s theatre company were amazing. A highlight was the dancing classes run by Ian & Penny. Thoroughly enjoyed learning a new skill. They were very personable and great teachers. What a great way to spend a couple of hours on a sea day – being sociable and keeping fit at the same...
