Great holiday

P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We have cruised many times and to be fair have been avoiding the Britannia because of its size. And I am so pleased to say our worry was ill-founded. The ship and crew were great. A very nice and relaxing 14 days. We will be arranging to return.

Fabulous Christmas cruise
By Lynda Jones on 14 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

First holiday ever at Christmas. Britannia got it absolutely right and made our Christmas wonderful. Staff were attentive and service was excellent. Food was delicious, especially on Christmas day. A good mix of ages on board from very young to oldish but lovely adult only pool and sun terrace. Entertainment was generally good with a variety of venues and bars. The cabin was great and the steward was always available if needed. Have cruised numerous...

Went on Caribbean cruise on Britannia on 8/12. Had a wonderful time. Booking via Bolsover Cruise club went smoothly. Holiday food, service and entertainment were very good. Destinations were so good, can’t wait to do it again.

Lovely, but expensive extras
By Margaret Whilde on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We love cruising and really enjoyed this Caribbean one. However, we have noticed there are more cover charges required than ever before. As we were celebrating a 70th birthday, we dined at The Epicurean. Very nice, but not worth the extra £28.00 per person. Similarly The Sindhu, very nice but not worth the extra £20.00 per person. The Limelight £25.00 p.p. extra, Glass House was A La Carte, and the Beach House was £7.50 pp...

Exceeded all expectations of cruising. Not overly impressed with all Caribbean islands but the staff and cruise were amazing. Looking forward to booking again.

Amazing from start to finish
By Elaine Williams on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

After cruising on smaller ships, we had doubts about the size of Britannia, but could not fault it at all. It’s one of the most friendly ships we have been on. The food was excellent, with such a vast choice for the evening menu in the restaurant. Breakfasts in the buffet were plentiful with, again, so much choice. We went to 2 of the fine dining venues, the Shindu Indian restaurant and the Limelight club....

Ok but could have been better.
By David Biddle on 02 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

A week back from a Carribean cruise. The Britannia turned out not to be our favourite P and O ship. The design with no stairs mid ships meant that the lifts were almost always busy, a tiny promenade area (you have to go round nine times to do a mile), the position of the lifeboats sticking out from the side rather than inset as we have experienced on other ships were intrusive and what we...

Caribbean cruise Nov/Dec 2018

The cruise to some beautiful islands was as wonderful as you could imagine. If I had a couple of grouses it would be 1. On Black tie nights people were in the lounges in shorts or jeans and t-shirts. Made evening not so special for those who like the dress up evenings. 2. Sofas round the pools were being used as beds by some people, they were laying out full length, so taking up the...

As first time on a cruise we were like startled rabbits to begin with but soon found our sea legs what an amazing ship staff were amazing nothing too much trouble . There was an abundance of food not too keen on the Indian specialist restaurant, the Epicurian is a must, fantastic. Felt that the pool area was small for the amount of people on the ship, only managed to sit by it once the...

Caribbean Cruise 9th November

The crew were friendly, helpful and informative. Cabin steward Donald worked tirelessly yet remained friendly and courteous. Entertainment was first class and the ship’s theatre company were amazing. A highlight was the dancing classes run by Ian & Penny. Thoroughly enjoyed learning a new skill. They were very personable and great teachers. What a great way to spend a couple of hours on a sea day – being sociable and keeping fit at the same...

Good but not best
By Andrew Lang on 03 December 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

Although some cruisers have given negative comments on the Britannia we found the ship really good overall. Yes, the lifts were an issue at times but not a problem. Unfortunately, our cabin was at the front and restaurant at back and show at front. As the wife is in wheelchair this made it a little awkward. Meal choices not as varied but quality still great.

Enjoyed a wonderful transatlantic Caribbean cruise. The crew are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Mary our cabin girl was excellent. Food very good. The layout of the self-service restaurant causes chaos at breakfast & lunch as you have to search for all the complimentary items you need.

Most enjoyable cruise. We were in A 203, cabin, the only snag was above us, a little noisy sometimes late at night. Sadly we did not have much to do with cabin steward, usually all so friendly on other cruises. Captain was excellent although only saw him once, always keeping his passengers, informed, even at 2 am!!! When a small fire in the kitchen! All staff were so friendly & helpful. Entertainment was great. Beautiful...

Fantastic cruise on a fantastic ship. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to do even fixing a puncture on our wheelchair free of charge. Our second time on Britannia and won’t be the last. Big thanks to Poppy at Bolsover again for getting us a perfect cabin at a great price.

Me and my next-door neighbour’s first ever cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The ship was first class being modern and tastefully decorated. Cleanliness was second to none. We chose the freedom dining option for evenings in the Meridian Restaurant and the food was superb. We used the Horizon buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and found the selection and quality of the food to be great. When choosing a holiday in the...

First time on a big ship
By Preston Pete on 22 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

First time on a big ship and went with an open mind. Embarkation very good at Southampton. Food acceptable in club dining but could have been hotter in horizon buffet. Many people on this cruise found the main problem with Britannia was the lifts- not enough of them especially midship and no stairwell. Out of 12days to the Canary Isles, we probably spent 2 of them waiting for lifts! When one did turn up it...

Excellent service right from booking with Bolsover. Cabin G408 was described as obstructed view which if you consider looking down on the outside seating to the Glasshouse and partial obstruction to the right of a lifeboat was true. Did not spoil our enjoyment in any way. Our cabin steward Paul was friendly efficient and most polite. This was our first cruise on Britannia and hopefully not our last. The food was much better than last...

First Cruise with P & O -Dissappointed
By John Jones on 19 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We have cruised many times but this was the first from Southampton with P & O, both the embarkation and eventual disembarkation were perfect possibly the best of any cruise line that we have previously used. We made our way to our cabin F508 on deck 9 which was clean and comfortable and our cabin steward introduced himself I think that we only saw him twice during the entire cruise but nevertheless he was very...
