Lovely Itinerary.

Most enjoyable cruise. We were in A 203, cabin, the only snag was above us, a little noisy sometimes late at night. Sadly we did not have much to do with cabin steward, usually all so friendly on other cruises. Captain was excellent although only saw him once, always keeping his passengers, informed, even at 2 am!!! When a small fire in the kitchen! All staff were so friendly & helpful. Entertainment was great. Beautiful...

Fantastic cruise on a fantastic ship. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to do even fixing a puncture on our wheelchair free of charge. Our second time on Britannia and won’t be the last. Big thanks to Poppy at Bolsover again for getting us a perfect cabin at a great price.

First Ever Cruise
By Lorraine Brookes on 23 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

Me and my next-door neighbour’s first ever cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The ship was first class being modern and tastefully decorated. Cleanliness was second to none. We chose the freedom dining option for evenings in the Meridian Restaurant and the food was superb. We used the Horizon buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and found the selection and quality of the food to be great. When choosing a holiday in the...

First time on a big ship
By Preston Pete on 22 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

First time on a big ship and went with an open mind. Embarkation very good at Southampton. Food acceptable in club dining but could have been hotter in horizon buffet. Many people on this cruise found the main problem with Britannia was the lifts- not enough of them especially midship and no stairwell. Out of 12days to the Canary Isles, we probably spent 2 of them waiting for lifts! When one did turn up it...

Excellent service right from booking with Bolsover. Cabin G408 was described as obstructed view which if you consider looking down on the outside seating to the Glasshouse and partial obstruction to the right of a lifeboat was true. Did not spoil our enjoyment in any way. Our cabin steward Paul was friendly efficient and most polite. This was our first cruise on Britannia and hopefully not our last. The food was much better than last...

First Cruise with P & O -Dissappointed
By John Jones on 19 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

We have cruised many times but this was the first from Southampton with P & O, both the embarkation and eventual disembarkation were perfect possibly the best of any cruise line that we have previously used. We made our way to our cabin F508 on deck 9 which was clean and comfortable and our cabin steward introduced himself I think that we only saw him twice during the entire cruise but nevertheless he was very...

Western Mediterranean – 16th September 2018
By Sue - Britannia Cruiser on 09 October 2018

The holiday started in a relaxed and very convenient way with included coach travel from local pick up – once we’d put our luggage beside the coach we didn’t see it again until it was outside our cabin door – efficient service at its best. Superb accommodation, food, service, facilities and entertainment aboard the 5* Britannia. Always scrumptiously clean (both cabin and public areas) the ship is like being in a high-class hotel but with...

Fabulous!

We have just returned from a 2-week cruise in the Med with my elderly parents with Mum in a wheelchair. The staff could not do enough to help with anything and the food and service in one of the main restaurants were top class. The entertainment on board was very good and some were excellent. We all enjoyed the cruise choir which was very uplifting. All in all a great success and would love to...

Not for us

The ship far too big for us, found people on it most of them very nice, but the ones that got on it last minute and no doubt cheap, let the side down eating like pigs, and happy to show all their parts when shuffling about. Would have thought mid-Sep to Oct no children, but wrong. Our cabin boy [Bosco] you could not wish for anyone better, very pleasant, all ways happy nothing too much...

Although we enjoyed our holiday I can only say how sadly standards have dropped . From waiters whistling in the restaurant to ladies drinking from bottles this is not 4 or 5 star dining . It’s not so long ago when gentleman would be asked to put their jackets back on if taken off on formal nights . At the captains cocktail party, there were some passengers in jeans! What has happened to cruising being...

Beautiful ship. Comfortable clean cabin, (we had an inside), with ample space and storage. Great shower. Staff very friendly and attentive. Claim is made this is a 5* ship, but consider the food in the main restaurants and buffet falls short of this rating. Didn’t like the “sales pitch” promoting coffee and drinks packages on embarkation. Entertainment was entertaining and varied!

Iberian Coast on Britannia
By Susan Howes on 24 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

First time on Britannia which was very bright and modern. Very enjoyable cruise service was excellent. Only drawback with this ship is the lack of a central staircase. This put us off this ship since I think there would be a slight problem getting all the passengers off in a hurry in the event of an emergency as passengers would not be able to use the lifts.

Arrived at Southampton checked straight in and we were on the ship within 20 minutes from getting out of the taxi to being on the ship. Lots of staff available to direct you, as we were on at 1pm we had lunch, then they announced shortly after the cabins were ready, went to the cabin the cases were there, unpacked, the cabin steward introduced himself. Had an obstructed cabin but G505 was fine could see...

The cabin was small for the money we paid, the toilet smelt by the end of two weeks due to not been cleaned. Prices expensive, ended up with a £450 phone bill added to my account and we did not use them, spent a week trying to get through to P&O without success Food and entertainment were ok. Never again..!

Good & Bad Points

P&O Cruises | Britannia Reviews

The ship is very clean and the staff and crew first class and could not do enough for you, food was plentiful and good quality at all times. Avoid deck 15 at all cost, it’s very noisy with the sun deck above and chairs and tables are moved about from 7 am onward so if you want to sleep in, forget it if you are in cabin around A409. The entertainment is very mixed except for...

Britannia review of the fjords.

A beautiful ship but the lifts and stairs really let it down as they are a nightmare. Staff were OK but could have cracked a smile every now and again. The studio was rubbish where you watched films but everyone’s heads are in the way and the photography department was OK but I didn’t buy any photos because I was sick off trawling through everyone’s photo. What they can’t ask for your room number and...

This was our second cruise, the first one was to Norway for a week, we enjoyed it so decided to take a longer cruise, this time to the Mediterranean. The cruise was very good, great ship. The food selection was excellent along with the entertainment provided each night. We had all of our meals in the Peninsular Restaurant with the occasional light meal in the Horizon buffet restaurant, great service and friendly staff. It did...
