Japan land tour and cruise
By Charles Lyall on 17 September 2018
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

The land tour was excellent with a very good courier. The cruise around the Island of Hodakke was not. The ship, crew, service and food were first class but that is where it ended. The destinations were poor with the exception of Otara, which was better. We missed the last call due to the Typhoon. Worst of all was the constant selling going on during the cruise. The daytime entertainment was reminiscent of a 1960’s holiday...

Sydney to Auckland honeymoon
By Dave Thomas on 02 March 2018
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

A cruise that fit the bill perfectly as we wanted to see Australia and New Zealand for our honeymoon but were both limited by work to 3 weeks. Decided on Princess due to other good reviews and the promise of being comfortable at sea, something we have found lacking on Thompson vessels. Brilliantly organised by Pam at Bolsover, original flights had us out of London with long stopovers, Pam instead managed to organise Birmingham flights...

Great cruise made better by fantastic staff
By Tony H on 03 November 2017
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

We flew to Tokyo for a pre-cruise stay of 3 nights, prior to embarkation at Yokohama port. All arrangements made via Bolsover, including private transfers which were super efficient. Yokohama port appears a bit chaotic at first glance, but there is an army of helpers to help whisk you through and we were on-board within 20 minutes. Diamond Princess is broadly similar to the likes of Grand and Crown Princess that we have sailed on...

By Evilc on 11 October 2016
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

If you want a fun cruise take Princess around Japan, the Diamond Princess must have been 60% Japanese passengers, polite joined in every thing and good fun. Activities in every corner Cruise Director and his Japanese side kick were great and never in your face like most Cruise Directors. Best ship we have ever been on We did our own travel to Tokyo that keeps the class of travel up and the price down from...

Disappointing Cruise around North Island Japan
By Michael on 10 July 2016
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

We took this cruise in June 2016 for 10 days. We would not have taken it had we known that the entire cruise was styled for the Japanese Market including food, excursions and entertainment. As a result American/English food options (other than hamburgers and pizza) were limited and what was available from the normal Lunch and Dinner Menus were generally a disappointment in both quantity and quality. The Ship (baring in mind it is 20...

Disappointed
By Pat on 15 October 2015
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

This was a very disappointing cruise. many of the staff were inexperienced and did not give the correct information We were tendered at one port and there were initially two tenders to offload 2000 passengers so it took forever. On the last day we were taken to Singapore airport at 8.30AM when our flight did not leave until 6.30pm. We were not so bad as others who had flights at 11pm I am fairly sure...

Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

We have just returned home from a cruise to Alaska with a night in Vancouver before and a three night land tour at the end. The organisation was excellent it was all booked with Princess flights and lodges. Everything was of the highest standard. We did a trip to the White Pass and Yukon by coach and train which was well worth doing and a 10 mile cycle ride in Juneau again was excellent. The...

There are better
By John smart on 01 June 2013
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

No problems with the programme, the organisation of the trips, the cabin or the staff. The food was repetitive, the entertainment was below that of other cruise lines we have used, there was no card room ( the organised bridge games used a dining room ) though there was a large casino (172 pin ball machines and 15 gaming tables ) and an area for selling paintings. There was a lack of good speakers which would...

Disappointed!
By Rosemary Eaton on 02 February 2013
Princess Cruises | Diamond Princess Reviews

We have recently returned from a cruise from Australia to New Zealand. We also cruised on this ship last year. We were impressed last year with the ship, the cleanliness and the food (maybe becuase it was the first time on a Proncess ship). The staff even cleaned the balcony glass. This time, however, it was the opposite. The food in the buffet left a lot to be desired, alot of it wasn’t hot and...
