This was the best of the princess ships we have been on. Apart from the first tw o days at sea being a bit windy, we got the holiday weather we were looking for. The crew on this ship were exceptional and our stateroom was so clean and quickly serviced each day by a very efficient young man. Plenty of room for everything. The entertainment was a wee bet flat at times but there was...

just returned from 14 night med cruise. We enjoyed the ship the cabin was very good and clean the entertainment was only so so. The food was good but still don’t like the 15% surcharge on bar prices shuttle buses are still a problem to expensive .Disembarkation was a shambles needs to be more cooperation between princess and eavesway coaches Thought the food in horizon wasn’t up to standard cold plates for breakfast etc

Not good enough Princess
By David Reilly on 19 May 2014
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

The ports of call on this 7 day cruise around the Bay of Biscay were all new to me, La Coruna, Bilbao, Bordeaux and Guernsey. Overall I enjoyed the cruise much more than I expected. I do however have a number of issues firstly with the ship and secondly with the free transport provided by Princess. I am an ‘Elite’ Princess passenger and can only say that the Production Shows on this ship were undoubtedly...

Disappointed
By Elaine Huby on 17 May 2014
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Overall enjoyed the cruise, however in the dining areas found that there was plenty of ‘food’, however it lacked quality and content in my opinion. Was also disappointed with the entertainment apart from one evening. Had an inside cabin for the first time and surprisingly amazed, it was lovely.

The cruise part was excellent lovely food, good service and some lovely destinations. We would have liked longer at some ports on our second part of the cruise a swe were only in port for half a day on a couple of the days. The downside of the cruise was the chaos at the U.S airports and the disembarkation.WHen we finally arrived through customs and immigration ther was no one there to guide us as to where...

Ports and weather v.good.The ship is 7 years old and all public areas are looking tired, the staterooms(cabin) are in good order and well maintained by the steward. Food in Horizon is plentiful and varied but no cold meats at lunchtime to go with salads .Food in restaurants is very average and Dinner in the evening no longer an occasion to look forward to,meat and fish of lower quality and desserts that are so average. The...

Penny pinching Princess
By Rosemary Fisher on 31 January 2014
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Ship was fine, although some warning bells about lack of hand hygiene in the food areas. Cabin comfortable and clean and well looked after. Going ashore via tender very slow and waited a long time. Prices of drinks and excursions are exorbitant. One bone of contention was that when the ship docked a good distance away from the town there was no courtesy bus for passengers to access the town easily. They expected us to...

We have just returned (yesterday) from a New Year cruise on the Princess Emerald with our family. We booked 2 rooms together originally in July as my mum wanted to be next door and it was easier for us and the children. We were told that the rooms had been changed via email and we were upgraded and that no other rooms including the ones we originally booked were available. The ship was full. This...

My Solo Caribbean Dream
By Linda Watts on 08 January 2014
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

My last cruise was on the Emerald Princess destination Southern Caribbean. My journey started very early in the mornig with a trip to Heathrow boarding a plane for Miami. Settled in for the long haul flight and time to catch up on some sleep. This was my fourth crusie, but the first as a female solo traveller. Admitidley with a little aprehension, but familiar with the hotel in Fort Lauderdale and the routine of getting...

2 Major Problems before you get to the ship
By J McKenna on 02 December 2013
Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Bolsover service great. The Cruise, the crew, the food, the ship, the weather FANTASTIC. The problems? FIRST never go on any holiday where the flight lands at Miami airport. We were there for AGES as despite the fact that this is a major airport, there were only a few Immigration Officers on duty. I estimated that the ‘snakelike’ queue was around 3/4 mile long and we all simply lost track of how long it took...

Mixed feelings

Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Having just returned from Canada/New England cruise I have the following comments to make: We were not impressed with the $23 per couple per day charge for tips, however it was possible to opt out of this scheme and we made our own arrangements to tip those who had served us personally. The timing of the meals in first sitting restaurant and the slow service meant that we were not able to get a seat...

baltic capitals

Just back from Baltics cruise, where too many passengers took the work “baltic” too literally , walking about in fleeces and hooded tops with jeans, when actually the weather was superb. On last day of cruise I was the only one out on deck at 4pm catching the last rays of sun before returning back home. Never a problem with getting a deck chair on deck any day, but a bit annoying to have move...

Careful Planning Required

Princess Cruises | Emerald Princess Reviews

Overall the ship, the food and the staff were excellent. we thought the entertainment was mediocre. The destinations visited were very good with plenty of time in each port to explore the island. I post this as a warning to British tourists that the Princess Line do not particularly cater for the British. We were made aware just a few days before disembarkation that we would have to leave the ship by 10am and our...

Myself my wife and son went on emerald princess on December the 27th 2012 for ten days, our holiday was superb but the cruise ship was a big let down, the day we were due to board the ship we were delayed because the earlier cruise had cases of neuro virus, this was not the fault of the ship but the pathetic way they handled it was, being held in a holding pen for over...

We have been to the carribean before but wanted to treat ourselves to a long relaxing holiday. We booked a back to back through Bolsover for a really good price, and fantastic service. The cruise was relaxing from beginning to end, the staff were really friendly and we got to know a lot of them over the 20 days we were on the cruise. The food was the usual high standard for Princess and the...

The holiday was supposed to be once in a lifetime experience but after we arrived back decided to book again the ship and crew were excellent and the overall experience was wonderful they was not enough hours in the day to do everything that was available. The cabins were well equipt and cleaned twice daily they was everything you needed and more you only had to ask and the cabin crew fetched it promptly and...
