Wonderful Alaska
By Mr B Upton on 22 August 2018
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

We had a wonderful trip, Alaska has a lot to offer right on the doorstep. The ship was very well maintained and spotlessly clean, attention to hand washing before entering anywhere there was food was scrupulous so there were no tummy problems. Nearly all the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and we could not fault our cabin steward or Giovani our Head Waiter who looked after any...

First time with Princess. Very well organised. Ship was good and well maintained. Staff helpful and friendly. Quite a lot of days at sea to get there but if weather good it was very relaxing. No complaints, booked with Princess again.

Good Holiday…… Old Ship!
By Keith Ruddick on 16 April 2018
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

Good holiday, San Francisco to Hawaii and back but the ship is old and run down small cabin and the balcony was rusty and poor paint work, most of the ship is the same. Food was ok but nothing special we did go to a specialist restaurant but that was nothing special. The day time entertainment again was very poor evening had some good specialist acts but overall was not that good. Overall we had...

Very disappointed with cruise, mainly with the food and entertainment but also the constant selling as well as the extra charges on everything. However, the other aspects of the holiday Las Vegas and San Francisco hotels and transfers were all very good. We were very interested in the P&O cruise aboard Aurora’s Amazon Adventure next January but are not sure if it would be run on a similar vein?

Alaska cruise

This cruise was more for me rather than my wife (she prefers warm weather cruising) to see the sights in Alaska & taking advantage of 2 days pre-cruise stop in San Francisco. We didn’t expect the weather to be great so did find the 23 kg luggage allowance a bit tight due to the clothes needed for all weather types. San Francisco is a great city to go round with plenty to see & do....

Holiday in hawaii
By Dec jones on 12 February 2014
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

Took all the island tour trips in hawaii including a very enjoyable sunset cruise in Honolulu bay. Good food , hawaiin music, and dancing girls. The grand princess was a very friendly ship, with plenty of activities, and entertainment.food was very good, and there was ample seating areas. We had a balcony cabin on c deck which we found very comfortable, and our only criticism was that there was insufficient hanging space for clothes? We had a very sizable balcony....

CHRISTMAS CRUISE
By Michael May on 14 January 2014
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

Cruise terminal at San Francisco is inadequate, late arrival of ship (after refurbishment) caused queues of 1000 yards in the streets, we should have sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge at 4pm which we were looking forward to, but did not leave until 2.00am. the next day. Service and food was first class, the anytime dining was restricted to 5.30 or 7.30pm but did not allow any other booking until after 7.30pm! The American flavour...

Alaska Magic

I have dreamt of going to Alaska for a number of years, I also wanted to go to Alcatraz so cruising from San Francisco to Alaska allowed to fulfil two dreams in 1 trip. I went with my friend in June 2013. Alcatraz was better than I expected, very interesting and eerie as the mist came in as we crossed the bay – you must book in advance of going to USA or you’ll be...

Alaska Aug

Cruised from San Francisco to Alaska with Princess cruises. We have only cruised with P and O in the past but this was at least as good and at times better. We had a three day stay in San Francisco at the Mark Hopkins hotel which was very good. Stress free boarding the ship and then 2days at sea, at times quite choppy. The Grand Princess is showing signs of age but is still a...

Grand Princess

Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

We’ve previously done 13 cruises and this quite easily was the least enjoyable, despite us having been on this ship before. The ship was cold in all of the public area’s and jackets/shawls were needed by most people, day or evening time, especially the restaurants and theater’s. The standard of food had deteriorated and breakfast service was slow. We started using the buffet and I hate Buffet’s!!! some drinks were unavailable, depending on which bar...

South America on Grand Princess
By Keith Abrey on 25 March 2013
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

We joined Grand Princess at Buenos Aries and cruised for 30+ days to San Francisco joining the larger group of passengers who had boarded at Fort Lauderdale. Ship carried a total of 2500 passengers, almost a thousand from US and a thousand from Australia plus a mixture of other countries and a hundred or so from UK. Despite the larger number of passengers there were no problems apart from getting on and off the ship...

Grand Princess OK

Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

This was our 1st time sailing with Princess; it was recommended by friends. The ship is OK with some areas still a bit tired after the re-fit. The One5 lounge & nightclub is worth a visit. We ate in the Horizon buffet as the restaurants take so long to have a meal but the buffet was excellent+++ The downside for us is paying in dollars and with the extra 15% charge on everything it makes...

Having sailed with Princess before we knew what to expect but we must say we found the Grand Princess looking tired in places We had a balcony cabin on A deck and they had put filler in the door both on the inside and outside which did not look good I took some photo’s and will be happy to send them to you

Spitzbergen and Norway

Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

A great cruise most enjoyable in every respect. If undertaken remember Spitzbergen is only 600 miles from the North Pole so be prepared to “layer” your clothing. Be prepared for expensive everything in Norway it gets worse the more Northerly you go. Even though it was not warm enough to sit or lie on the open decks for long Grand Princess did not seem overcrowded

Tired Ship, Great Holiday
By Bob Williams on 18 June 2012
Princess Cruises | Grand Princess Reviews

Outlook This was our first Princess cruise, and definitely not our last! We have previously cruised with P&O and Thomson, completing six cruises of varying lengths. Pre-cruise We booked through Bolsover Cruise Club, the booking was handled by Craig very efficiently and we were pleased with the service. An unexpected bonus was that our P&O loyalty was acknowledged by Princess (it doesnƒ??t go the other way though) this put us straight into Platinum. However as...

Boarding the Ship at Southampton was the easiest embarkation ever ,we were out of our car and on board in about 40 mins me and my mum shared a case so the porters put this straight onto the ship for us after we embarked it took us about 10 mins to find our cabin. We dumped our hand bags...
