Disappointed Cruise
By B.luffman on 12 November 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Found that the ship was fine and cabin ok but the pull out sofa was to short and had to be removed from cabin and foldaway beds placed. Received bill for items not purchased in dinning and was taken off the bill but was returned on later bill reception person rude and not what was expected of the company. I hate to think what would happen if a real emergency happened at sea when it...

Disappointed
By Susan Chambers on 29 October 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

After sailing with the Independence of the Sea twice before and with several other cruise companies, we sailed with her again knowing the ship had recently had upgrades. From being a beautiful and roomy ship it is now to say the least mediocre and the prommanade was very crowded so much that it wad difficult to find comfortable seats together with our friends. Two of the main shows were cancelled what happened to” the show...

Cruise review
By Carol Edgington on 15 October 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

We had a lovely cruise but the downside was that our friend David Holt was ill and was confined to his cabin which meant that the 4 of us were prevented from going onshore etc together. Mrs Holt did join us for some of the time but obviously, the idea was that the 4 of us spent most of the cruise doing things together. However, Colin and I together with the Holts can only sing...

Med Cruise
By Paul Mackie on 15 October 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Our cruise started on 22nd Sept for 14 nights, a time when we thought most of the schools would be back, however, there were children still running about whose parents were obviously happy to see the back of them for a while. (I’m not surprised) On the first couple of days we tried the Windjammer restaurant where there is no dress code, however, there are still some chavs who insist on going to the restaurants...

Amazing

Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Just back from our first cruise ever, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, couldn’t have picked a nicer ship than Indy, ALL staff are very polite, helpful, courteous, and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our holiday just perfect from start to finish, they all work so extremely hard, we went on Canaries adventure and enjoyed every port we went to, cannot recommend this ship enough, we were very spoilt and cannot wait...

Yet another gret cruise on Indy
By John Goldby on 01 October 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

The Indy just gets better and better, great service, good food and friendly staff and passengers.  The Crown and Anchor society and benefits are the best of all the cruise ships, personal service and great perks. Already got two cruises on the Independence booked for next year.

Norwegian Fjords

Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Our third cruise on this ship, the first since its re-fit, we stayed in one of the new staterooms on deck 12 and it was wonderful, the panoramic window was a great asset for a cruise to the fjords. The staff, food and entertainment were as always excellent.

Nice little mini break
By Claire Cookson on 11 September 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

We usually sail with Celebrity but we decided to celebrate my 30th birthday with a mini cruise on the newly refurbished Independence of the Seas as the dates were perfect. We splashed out on a junior suite which was clean and comfortable but could have done with a bit updating. We had a lovely three days spending some quality time together and chilling out. It was nice to try something different but we did miss...

Crowded fun
By reginald wheeler on 11 September 2018
| Independence of the Seas Reviews

This was a bank holiday 4 night quick trip with the ship filled to capacity. Embarkation was well organised and easy but getting food in the dining room and finding seats at tables was impossible, this really was very messy with some food being served cold. Once underway good organisation resumed and restaurant evening meal was good once it arrived (very slow service). Entertainment throughout was excellent certainly up there with more expensive cruises. First...

Not a patch like P&O
By Janet Wynne on 04 September 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Not a patch like P&O, everything is expensive, no duty-free, even bingo was 39 dollars to play. No cheaper cards. Would never ever go on an American ship again, tatty cabins, every meal time, waiters and chefs, cruising around whilst you are trying to eat asking for a rating of 10. All staff looking for tips all the time. Terrible service, queuing up for everything as so many people on a ship. If we had...

Travelling with 8 adults and 9 kids from ages 4 to 12. From seeing the ship in distance with its water park the kids were screaming with delight. There was so much to do we hardly saw them. Had a group on WhatsApp so everyone could find each other. We did meet up for my time dining and the Restaurant manager acquired 2 large tables for us in the evening one 7 kids on and...

Another Cruise to Remember
By Mr & Mrs Skinner on 03 September 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

2nd cruise with Royal Caribbean and aboard the same ship ‘Independence of the Seas’. We cannot find any fault with this cruise line, our holiday on the ‘Beaches Cruise’ around the Med was again a fantastic and memorable holiday made more so by the company, the ship and more importantly the crew who were absolutely brilliant. Treated like Royalty again by the crew that are friendly and welcoming………..Booked another cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Great family cruise
By Roger Trigg on 20 August 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Having been on many cruises without family this time we took everyone (19). Ages from 6-18 so the onboard ride tubes, FlowRider etc, were very popular. Hardly any lines and this during summer school holidays with a full ship. Windjammer was busy but always found a table. Shows were great and the ice show was spectacular ( book early for this and get in early to get a good view.) Sunbeds always available and as...

Awesome holiday

Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

From getting on the ship to getting off, everything went very well. The ship is huge and amazing. All the staff were very helpful. The activities onboard were very varied and plentiful- problem we had was not long enough on the ship to try everything out. The fjords themselves were spectacular- thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, can’t wait to book another one !

Norway

Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

The cruise was a success. It was a family get together and it met most requirements to a good level. As regular cruisers, my wife and I thought the food standard was a little down on previous cruises in the main dining room. The buffets were excellent though. With regard to service, the general impression in the dining rooms was that the waiters and assistant waiters were being asked to service more tables than we...

Public areas exceptional after the update. The cabin was poor, dated and tired verging on shabby. A outdoor cabin with round window inadequate size for three people not enough clothes storage. Tiny ensuite. Won’t use ship again until cabins are updated.

Very Commercialised now, food standards poor, overcrowded
By Sue Hilton on 13 August 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

The declining standard of food and service in the MDR was noticeable. Windjammer always overcrowded with lots of queuing – but food always nice there. Breakfast very samey though – same stuff every morning – no pastry variety. The all-inclusive drinks packages just made for people drinking excessively and there is lots of waste. My cabin attendant was lazy (room dirty and not checked). Entertainment was fabulous but I would hope this would change periodically...

Norwegian Fjords 28th July to 5th August 2018
By John Robbins on 13 August 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

We were very disappointed with this cruise. Having been on the Independence of the Seas previously, we were expecting a good, comfortable cruise, but we didn’t expect a floating children’s playground and drinking palace. Lots of kids despite such a sedate destination, and very difficult to find a seat in the bar. Generally standards were not as high as our previous trip with IotS, and food poisoning didn’t help. Difficult to see us going on...

Cruise from hell!!
By Steven Millson on 06 August 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

This was an extremely noisy rowdy cruise, full of ill disciplined children, beer swilling parents and a total lack of supervision from the cruise staff. There was nowhere to escape the constant, maximum volume music, which was aimed solely at the 15 to 25’s. The only slightly quieter place was the 16+ pool but all beds were take by 6.30 am despite the so called bed police….how sad!! On several occasions we had to stop...

Great cruise
By David Cheesman on 06 August 2018
Royal Caribbean International | Independence of the Seas Reviews

Had a great time on a Mediterranean cruise in July on Independence of the Seas. We had been on the ship two years ago before it’s refit. The ship is amazing for families now. Just like a floating resort. Food and service was very good. We had the deluxe drinks package, WiFi and gratuities included which was great as the drinks prices in dollars are very expensive. The one downside was a lot of the...
