Super holiday

We had a lovely 3 week holiday on Island Princess. We were only on this ship in August last. Nice size – not too large. You get to know people by seeing them regularly. The cruise started from Los Angeles so the long flight was a drag. We wish Princess would allow flights direct from Manchester instead of Heathrow. The food was very good, the cabin facilities particularly the bedding were first class. Altogether a...

A very good cruise on a small/medium size ship for a pleasant change, with interesting itinerary and very friendly fellow passengers from many different parts of the world. The service was particularly good, with good standards of food and accommodation. The ship had recently had a partial refit and the main area to benefit was the Horizon Buffet which is now very spacious with extra seating and more open food service area and probably new...

Overall quite disappointing we were not told it was a double cruise the first 4days literally getting the ship from Alaska to San Fran to change passengers and some crew including the captain, also the ship is ready for a refit which had its issues air con and sanitary issues, service was poor, food adequate . The ship needing a refit could have been overlooked if the service, entertainment and general atmosphere had been improved on...

Disappointing ship
By Mr John Keyworth on 21 October 2013
Princess Cruises | Island Princess Reviews

On arriving at our stateroom C417 for our trip from Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale via the Panama Canal we decided not to unpack our cases due to the fact that the cabin was very dirty, surfaces sticky and thick dust everywhere. There were 2 medication tablets on the floor and dirty cotton wool buds and waste paper in the drawers. We contacted Passenger services who informed us they would send the Deck Supervisor. Eventually a...

Our first cruise with Princess .. although our previous ones with P&O helped us to get something called an ‘elite’ cruise card status.. even though we didn’t at first realise what that meant. We weren’t used to being able to jump the queues, and often felt a bit guilty — but the free mini bar was a nice touch! Our first experience cruising ‘American Style’, and we enjoyed it. We found the American passengers very...

WE have recently returned from our cruise on the Island Princess from Los Angeles through Panama Canal to Miami. We had persuaded our friends to join us, whom had not cruised before. We booked it all through Bolsover Travel. WELL, 2 days into our cruise we felt we had made a terrific mistake. The cruise was nothing like we had ever been on before!! There was no ‘sail away’ no ships sirens etc when we...

This our first ever cruise. We thought the entertainment was very fragmented with the times you either had to dine very early or very late. Food was very good although on occasions not very warm. Prices on board were very expensive. All the staff were very friendly . Would I do another cruise probably but it would not be our 1st choice for a holiday. From where I was looking it was an inclusive holiday....

A terrific cruise – all we could wish for. We didn’t think we’d like five days at sea to start with but it was a wonderful way to wind down. Our cabin was perfect – chosen for us by Bolsover Cruise Club, who certainly knew their stuff when it came to finding the best available. There were one or two niggles – there are constant sales onboard, but I think that is what the Americans...
