Pleasantly surprisedByon 03 April 2018Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
First time cruising with Holland America, and what a pleasant surprise. We had read some reviews on Ms Noordam which weren’t glowing so we weren’t expecting great things. We booked 14 day cruise around New Zealand. Leaving Sydney on a bright sunny hot day we embarked on time and were soon on board exploring the ship. The ship was a little tired in places, but very clean and spacious with everything you would expect and...
Venue ShifterByon 21 December 2017Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
We were pleased that the ship’s journey enabled us to visit a variety of locations in Australia and New Zealand – on time and in calm seas. The fiordland scenery was exceptional. Our state-room veranda on Navigation deck was excellent. Being only one floor from the Lido Market (hottish water for drinks) near to Observation and gym/swim deck was good. Unfortunately, the noise from the dish-wash station directly across the walkway from our door was...
Cruise New Zealand to AustraliaByon 04 December 2017Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. It visited a number of ports down the east coast of North and South Island before sailing across to Tasmania. It was our first cruise with Holland America although by no means our first cruise having cruised previously with a number of other cruise lines. I will start with what we did not like. 1. the draconian alcohol policy whereby peoples’ cases were searched without the owners...
Spectacular once in a lifetime tripByon 01 June 2015Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
We picked this cruise because of the itinery ,not HAL . Embarkation took about an hour or more of shuffling ,totally disorganised . Our Balcony stateroom was roomy, comfortable ,nice Elemis toiletries ,bathrobes etc . We’re were disappointed with the standard of food and service overall from the Lido buffet to the Vista dining room, food often cold and bland ,most noticeable exception was the Pinnacle Grill superb food and excellent service. In Juneau we booked...
MS Noordam In the CaribbeanByon 21 December 2014Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
I really loved our cruise on the Holland America ship MS Noordam, the people, the ship, the service and the weather were all superb. Our cabin was situated at the stern on Veranda Deck 5, a lovely big cabin with lots of space and a good big balcony giving us the choice of sun or shade, also a good sized table for a comfortable breakfast on port days. The cabin was as big as the...
Historical splendourByon 12 September 2014Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
The cruise had only one sea day, so it was a very intensive cruise. Messina was a disappointment, but all the others proved to be very interesting.. Our third cruise visit to Malta was once again fascinating and it should be on every Mediterranean itinerary, Argostoli was a mildly interesting stop and Corfu, our second Greek port, was excellent. The highlight of the cruise turned out to be a highlight . We were not sure...
Noordam 20-31 October 2013Byon 07 November 2013Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
Very pleasant cruise especially as the itinerary was amended to include Israel. Good excursions packed full of history. Very smooth ship. Food good but would have enjoyed more veg and silver service like P&O. Bar prices a good reason for being teetotal. Discounted upgrade to larger staterooms appreciated. Not happy with being dispatched to the airport (1 hour away) from ship at 8.30am for a 3pm flight apart from this flights and transfers all good
Great Cruise with only minor quibbles!Byon 26 June 2013Holland America Line | MS Noordam Reviews
Our first time with this line. Generally a lovely ship but the balcony railing was pitted and rusty.. A recent case of GI trouble caused a late boarding as it was disinfected thoroughly. No self service for three days until it all cleared. Masses of Purel cleanser at every turning! Food was first class and very tasty and varied. The dining room service was excellent. (That magic word!) We were acknowledged by the staff wherever...
