Mixed blessings

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

The Ship, Food, Staff and Entertainment were all excellent. Cruising is never cheap, so the small niggling costs and petty rules were very irritating – no free coffee on the Tui flight – no alcohol brought onto ship(mine was confiscated!) – on black tie nights some bars wouldn’t serve you due to ‘dress code’ – Wi-Fi was appallingly slow and cost £60 for 7 days! – I have never had to pay anywhere for internet...

Rough seas

Weather not the kindest on this cruise. Skirted hurricane first day out resulting in half ship suffering seasickness. Storm second week and ship hit by lightning. Itinerary changed cancelling Mykonos and Gythion. None of this however stopped us having a great time. Ship is lovely. Staff so friendly and attentive. Food and entertainment very good. Booked another cruise already

Great holiday especially visiting the Acropolis in Athens. P & O had to avoid a tropical storm but still enabled the passengers to see wonderful places. Staff & food all excellent.

Disability toilets

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

We went on the Oceana 13th September. The cruise was brilliant and the weather lovely. Even though she is getting a bit dated the Oceana is a great ship. The staff are so friendly. We had freedom dining which worked well. The only thing that annoyed us was that the disability toilets were in the main toilets. As I am a wheelchair user my husband had to take me into the ladies which he found...

Tired and dated ship
By Jon Beal on 04 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

We got to our cabin and found an old sock in a drawer and a used toothbrush in the bathroom. The furniture was rickety and falling apart which set the tone for the rest of the ship. Corridors with dirty walls and drab carpet. Entertainment was 3rd rate. The whole ship needs a refit. The food was nice enough but I couldn’t believe the fruit juice dispenser was water only after breakfast. I won’t cruise...

Wonderful family holiday on Oceana
By Fran Puddick on 01 October 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

My family (two adults and 5yo) had a lovely time on Oceana last week, sailing between Croatia and Italy. From start to finish we were looked after wonderfully by the team at P&O Cruises. The Reef Rangers at the onboard kids club were particularly good – we struggled to get our little girl to spend time with us she was enjoying herself so much and she came away with not just a folder full of...

Croatia / Greece cruise

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

The ship is smaller than some of the P and O fleet but has a nice feel to it, entertainment was good, plenty of activities throughout the day, the ports of call on this cruise were very good. I had freedom dining but had to wait 45 mins every night for a table which was a little annoying. The drinks are not overly expensive at the bar, and we had no trouble finding a sunbed...

This was my first cruise with P&O and it won’t be my last. Can’t fault the waiting staff, friendly and efficient. The ship was very clean and tidy (Oceana). I am looking forward to going on my next trip in the new year.

14 night fly cruise Eastern med
By John Naylor on 21 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

The cruise visited Athens, Santorini, Rhodes, Crete, back to Malta then on to Dubrovnik, Hvar, Venice, Split and back to Malta. An excellent itinerary and of course on this trip excellent weather. We flew East Midlands at (0610) to Malta. 3 hours flight, Jet 2 comfortable aircraft for a budget carrier, plenty of leg room but would not like to fly more than this on this type of aircraft. 1 hour after landing we were...

Good standard of service but needs to catch up with newer ships
By Carole Nelson on 21 September 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Booked cruise for locations on offer rather than for the ship itself (no problem with the places we visited). Have been on newer P&O ships and you can certainly tell the difference. Cabin small and dated and the balcony tiny and compares badly with balcony cabins on the newer ships. Biggest bugbear was the ‘freedom dining’ option – a total misnomer unless you are prepared to eat on tables for 8 when requiring to eat...

Trip 16th August two weeks

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Enjoyed ship but a few hidden costs on trips no WIFI only if you pay, I think in this day and age it should come with the price of the holiday if you were staying in a 5 Star hotel it would be free. Hairdryer in room so old fashion. Have to pay now for room service which used to be free during the day timing of shows if you are 8-30 sittings. Not good...

Being well cared for

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Having recently suffered from injury after a fall and travelling solo I was anxious about transfers to and from the ship and aircraft. I need not have worried I was so well cared for and wheelchair assistance was provided efficiently and swiftly. Around the ship, there were plenty of places to sit and rest and everyone was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a restful and travel worry-free holiday.

Great Mediterranean fly cruise on Oceana
By Steve Jones on 28 August 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Took a 2-week fly cruise on Oceana in August, the first week covered the Greek Isles, second the Adriatic, including Venice and Dubrovnik. First time on Oceana since 2004, pleased to say she is still a lovely, well-kept ship. Does she have all the latest bells and whistles, no of course not but we enjoyed her just the same. We enjoyed the dining, the clientele, the entertainment and the overall itinerary – it’s small enough...

Malta, Athens and Greek Islands. Amazing week on Oceana
By Claire Hodkin on 20 August 2018
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Wonderful week on board Oceana. Our second cruise on this ship and again we really cannot fault anything. A family of 4 with two children under 10. Very lucky to have had a mini-suite which really was superb if you want more space, lounge space which has a double sofa bed. The cabin is wide rather than long meant double balcony space with four chairs. Again dined in the Adriatic Restaurant opting for the earlier...

Great ship! This ship had a great friendly atmosphere, one of the best ships we have been on. We had an outside cabin picture window, glad we didn’t pay for a balcony as our friends said that it wasn’t a proper balcony, more like a Juliet balcony. Entertainment very good, couldn’t fault the food.

Ship superb staff superb. Too many kids for the time of year. Only other gripe was Sindhu, our meal was very bland a disappointment as we’ve eaten there many times before. Glass House is far better and cheaper. Cleanliness was A1. The fjords were fantastic this was our first time after numerous cruises around the Med and Caribbean.

P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Just spent a week on the Oceana 24th may 2018. Having cruised more than a dozen times with princess, celebrity, Thomson and P&O I must say that P&O need to tighten the reins a bit. Oceana was like Butlins at sea the inside cabin B328 was so small and for the first 3 nights there was an horrendous banging noise that kept us awake all night. The staff denied all knowledge of the noise when...
