P&O Cruises Ship Review Oceana Reviews

Your holiday begins the minute you step into Oceana’s bustling atrium with its Caribbean-vibe palm trees and brass, glass-fronted lifts. On board you’ll enjoy a welcoming informal atmosphere with plenty to keep kids entertained. Adults can indulge in the spa, hedge bets in the casino or rela x with a cocktail on the terrace.

Our recent cruise on Oceana.
By Thomas Aitchison. on 30 April 2019

Public areas satisfactory but Cabin small and dated, incurred. dated, balcony disappointing in size and poor condition of the furniture. Breakfast service in restaurant slow. Guests should be discouraged from bringing hot drinks into lifts. Popular wines not available in the restaurant throughout the cruise, more expensive brands being recommended. Disembarkation arrangements far from satisfactory, appropriate letter re. this not received in cabin and despite two requests still not received. On day of disembarkation staff...

A fabulous cruise out of Malta on the MV Oceana. We had to catch the plane from Birmingham, due to Manchester flights being booked up, so this was a bit of an inconvenience. Transfer from the airport to the ship went well. Oceana was looking better than when we last sailed on her to the Carribean in 2017. The cabin was comfortable, food was very good and the entertainment was excellent. We had seen all...

Smallest inside cabin ever
By Wendy on 23 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

The inside cabin was so small, one side of the bed didn’t even have a bedside table. Anytime dining, only good before 6.45pm then you’d end up with a pager & you might get a table for 9pm & we were willing to share. So missed the show on two nights. Overall enjoyed the cruise but definitely our least favourite ship.

For us this was an opportunity to tick the Middle East box and move on. We enjoyed the itinerary, had some interesting little adventures, and had great weather. The disappointment for me was the ship. Our cabin steward was terrific, did everything we asked but you can’t turn a worn out cabin and rusty balcony into a palace. The wrap around promenade deck was immaterial because on far too many occasions a section was closed...

The cruise was excellent with good ports and shore excursions. The embarkation and disembarkation arrangements were first class and worked very smoothly. However the cruise was let down by Oceana which must be the very worst ship in the fleet , the cabins were minute and the balconies claustrophobic. A lack of bars and poor service didn’t help either. Would be a memorable cruise with a better ship.

This is my third time on Oceana and yes she is looking tired but the only complaint for me is guests putting towels on sunbeds early in the morning (7am) and not going back to them till later in the day I call these guests selfish cruisers. The food choice is quite amazing for a small ship and the quality is good too. Would I go back to the Gulf No? Would I cruise on...

Captain Robert Cambey creates such a positive atmosphere for cruising. The staff respond with more smiles for their customers and they work well together for our comfort. Leon, Entertainment Manager is a true professional, and the entertainment on offer was varied, with plenty of good humour Food and drinks, cabins, health and safety was top class. Oceana is a beautiful ship, with a wonderful Atrium, where you can relax listening to live piano recitals I...

Pretty Poor

This was my first P&O cruise and will be my last! The trip around the Persian Gulf went to 2 ports that were a waste of time, Fujairah and Khasab – very little to see unless you like rocks. The ship was tired as were many of the crew, many nearing the end of their tour of duty; a couple were rude. Cabins were smaller than most ships and the balcony was a joke –...

This was our second time cruising on Oceana. Once again totally delighted with the experience. However, we felt our balcony cabin was looking ‘tired’ but was kept alive by our hard working and cheerful Cabin Steward. Overall, the commitment to customer service was of a high standard as was the food. Would I cruise to this part of the world again, probably not as having experienced it once there was nothing exceptional drawing us back...

This cruise will not be everyone’s cup of tea! The itinerary had little to offer unless you love shopping Malls looking at hotels skyscrapers and Mosques. For some unexplained reason the cruise itinerary was changed and instead of visiting Muscat we visited the container port of Khor al Fakkan absolutely nothing to see or do there other than walk along the Corniche or in English the seafront. Most tours overpriced for what they offered and...

What a shambles our cabin had been double booked when we arrived in Dubai, luckily they had a spare cabin for us on our first night. When we did get our cabin it was next to the steward’s store cabin and every morning 7 – 7.30 am we where woken by her banging the trolley into the side of the cabin wall. The ship is certainly very tired, a lot of towels where sunbathing on...

Enjoyed our destinations but not the ship
By Steven Dunnington on 19 March 2019
P&O Cruises | Oceana Reviews

Dubai and our other destinations were more than we expected really enjoyed, however, Oceana compared more to a 3-star hotel food in MDR good but not fantastic food in buffet not edible cold most days with very little flavour. Entertainment repetitive although we did enjoy on the whole the headliners could dance but certainly not sing.

Lovely ship, the balconies are small unable to both sit out unless you put your feet up on the edge, really enjoyed Dubai could stay there longer but the rest of the ports not a lot to do, we did excursions at every port the best one was the safari desert BBQ under the stars well worth the money. Very enjoyable but wouldn’t go back

Dubai & Emirates on Oceana – firstly we have to say the Oceana was excellent in all areas – though can’t comment on entertainment as we never really go to any shows- however whilst the various destinations were all interesting & in some cases spectacular we prefer cruises that allow us to explore on our own & this was not possible mainly because of cruise terminal locations. The one real blot on the landscape was...
