P&O Cruises Ship Review Oriana Reviews

Oriana is one of the smallest cruise ships in the P&O Cruises fleet, elegantly combining classic design features such as teak decks and a tiered stern with delightful Art Deco touches. Exclusively for adults, she exudes refinement and luxury. Oriana’s signature features are a stunning atrium with a Tiffany glass ceiling and the Crow’s Nest bar.

Sorry to see you go
By Peter and Margaret Wilkinson on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

The Oriana has been a firm favourite for both new and especially long travelled passengers (guests). Still not used to the term ‘guest’. It is with great sadness that after 24 years of loyal service she is leaving P & O. I sincerely hope she is as appreciated by her new owners and guests as much as past and present passengers. The friendliness and efficiency of the whole staff (crew) have been excellent every time...

Fun in the sun
By Kath Snodgrass on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Staff were all helpful and cheerful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Entertainment was disappointing as it consisted of shows we had seen many times and acts with an unaltered format. Shame Oriana is going. So many people love it.

The Atlantic crossing.
By Ann Hurstfrost. on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We left Southampton on 22nd of February 2019. The channel was quite bumpy while we slept. Next day the sea became very rough and turned into a force 9 gale for 7 days. There was a lot of banging and crashing and sleep was difficult. It sounded as if the cabin was going to fall apart. We were unable to go on the decks but plenty of activities during the day. Several passengers benefited from...

North Atlantic and Caribbean cruise Feb/Mar X903
By Julian Tremayne on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Overall a rather disappointing cruise (for the money spent) but with one redeeming feature. The North Atlantic did its best to stop us getting to Bermuda and indeed we took seven days rather than six. Unfortunately, this resulted in a rearrangement of the itinerary and we missed out Grand Turk, which was one reason for choosing this trip. Also, a week before sailing we were told that the ship had been refused to refuel at...

P & O are losing it
By John Ross on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Bermuda and back seemed a good idea with new calls for us at Bermuda and Grand Turk and a visit after many years to Nassau. A few days before sailing we were informed that we would now miss Nassau as on that day as it was full! but call instead at Freeport. A bad crossing weather wise meant we were late into Bermuda but the two-day stay was persisted with even though the second day...

Disappointing in a number of ways
By Geoff Baxter on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Oriana Caribbean cruise x903 22/02/19 – 22/03/19 The cruise did not start well with a letter arriving before we sailed stating that we would be calling at Freeport rather than Nassau. We had believed that itineraries were organised two years in advance so this was a surprise. The perception among the passengers I spoke to suggested this was more to suit P&O logistics rather than the passengers. The ship had supposedly had a recent makeover...

A Sad Farewell.
By Mrs Doris Cox on 18 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Was I just lucky? I have travelled a lot on Oriana, but not recently. Following the passing of my husband, I decided to travel on my own to see the Panama Canal, which we had not been able to do, and say farewell to Oriana, our favourite ship. I am unable to join her for her last passage. I was allocated my cabin which was neat and clean with an excellent steward who acted straight...

Not up to usual standard
By Carole Bird on 01 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Not happy that “Oriana” seemed to be treated as “a poor relation” when docking at several ports had been reserved some years ago, and then at the last minute we had to tender. This happened a couple of times – we were advertised as port and ended up tendering. Obviously, bad weather can’t be helped.

Never again

I have cruised 6 times with P&O. 3rd day I started with a horrendous cold. We could not turn the air con off. I reported a few times to deal with it. I was given a fan to put in the cabin. Don’t know how that was suppose to help. Everywhere you went on around the ship the air con was on full blast especially in the dining room. Both I and husband got chest...

Christmas and New Year

Although a lot of people we spoke to on this cruise loved the ship it was not the one for us. There was a lack of toilet facilities for the disabled in the public areas – there being nothing on Deck 12 for the Conservatory Buffet venue and also on other decks as well. We felt that it was just too small a ship for us – although for most of the people on board...

Overall
By Mr Geoff and Mrs Carole Cronk on 14 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We have always considered Oriana our favourite cruise ship and are sorry to hear the Chinese have bought her. Our Xmas cruise on her was one of the best we have done except that the fireworks on Tenerife were poor. The evening entertainment was excellent. The Headliners and the 4 violinists were superb. We are on Ventura on June 16th and hope they are on again.

Xmas/New Year 2018/19
By Anthony Cathcart on 14 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

The dining service left a little to be desired, quite a few sullen waiters, the bars were much more friendly. The cabin steward was excellent, nothing too much trouble. An adult only ship, which at the time of year ( Xmas ) we would not want to go on again, it was somewhat like a Hospital ship. Overall good value as with all P&O cruises, an incorrect choice on our part

Great Christmas Cruise
By Jill and Alan Haigh on 14 January 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

After a very comfortable coach journey by Eavesway we boarded a very well decorated Oriana and were delighted with the cruise to the Canaries. Service and food were great. We were a little disappointed with the entertainment, but the Headliners were the best we have ever seen. Trips from the ship were good especially the Whale watching and the weather was very good. There was a problem with the ship losing power for 4 hours...

A really good cruise
By John Haran on 17 December 2018
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Just back from a month cruising to the Caribbean and back on Oriana, we are sad it’s going to new owners next year. The cruise had it’s difficulties with 3 helicopter evacuations, and having to divert to miss bad weather. The ship had to turn around each time to meet the helicopters. Amazingly we made up the time and kept to our itinerary. The staff were, as usual, very professional and efficient in all departments...

Superb Mediterranean cruise
By Alan Shelton on 04 December 2018
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our cruise around the Mediterranean in October. Oriana is a beautiful ship and I for one will be sad to see her go. I’m also very sad that her replacement will be such a massive ship. I do hope that P&O will realise that there are a large number of their clients who prefer smaller, more intimate ships. My cabin (Deluxe outside) was excellent. Lots of room and...
