 - Ship Review Oriana Reviews

Oriana is one of the smallest cruise ships in the P&O Cruises fleet, elegantly combining classic design features such as teak decks and a tiered stern with delightful Art Deco touches. Exclusively for adults, she exudes refinement and luxury. Oriana’s signature features are a stunning atrium with a Tiffany glass ceiling and the Crow’s Nest bar.

Oriana Cruise
By Mr Anthony Hilton on 22 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We had a cruise on Oriana starting 25 April and finishing on 11 May 2019. We were very happy with every kind of service including restaurants, food and shows. However, there are 2 points regarding our experience on Oriana. 1 – The sound level at nightly shows was very high and we do not understand why; we and others we have spoken to , have complained about the sound level in shows but for some reason...

Our final trip on the Oriana
By Dr Peter Taylor on 22 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We were keen to have one final trip on the Oriana as it had been a favourite of ours. We chose the Azores/ Canaries destination as it included both new destinations and previously visited ones we were keen to revisit. Overall a very enjoyable trip despite disappointing weather (temperatures were OK if a little cooler than most were hoping for and some cloud and rain at a couple of ports) which gave a rough few...

Marred by the weather!!!!!
By H. W. on 20 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Although Oriana is ageing the ship provided a comfortable and delightful experience. Entertainment good especially the Headliners, Classuic Duo ( cello/piano) , Magician, 4Tunes, Samantha Jay. Comedienne poor also the Motown very poor. Good selection of films. Staff as ever very helpful and friendly, Food good, Biggest problem was the weather over which there was no control which was surprisingly poor for the Canaries. Disappointment were the excursions which I felt were not worth the...

Bad weather

P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

The trip was ok apart from the weather as only had 1 day sun in canaries/azores for 16 nights cruise. Very choppy waters and the aging small ship Oriana she struggled through to her destination especially as the stabilisers had not been deployed (we later were told that this saves fuel) as would have held the fleets fastest ship back

Sorry to see her go
By BARBARA ASKEW on 02 May 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Fourth trip on Oriana and will be sad that when we cruise again (hopefully next year) it won’t be on Oriana. OK one or two things could be better – for example the cinema as the films often a little out of sync and a little out of focus too at times – but overall the ship is great (beautiful in fact) and the staff absolutely brilliant. This time we couldn’t get a cabin on...

Sorry to see you go
By Peter and Margaret Wilkinson on 15 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

The Oriana has been a firm favourite for both new and especially long travelled passengers (guests). Still not used to the term ‘guest’. It is with great sadness that after 24 years of loyal service she is leaving P & O. I sincerely hope she is as appreciated by her new owners and guests as much as past and present passengers. The friendliness and efficiency of the whole staff (crew) have been excellent every time...

Fun in the sun
By Kath Snodgrass on 15 April 2019

Staff were all helpful and cheerful. The cabin was clean and comfortable. Entertainment was disappointing as it consisted of shows we had seen many times and acts with an unaltered format. Shame Oriana is going. So many people love it.

The Atlantic crossing.
By Ann Hurstfrost. on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

We left Southampton on 22nd of February 2019. The channel was quite bumpy while we slept. Next day the sea became very rough and turned into a force 9 gale for 7 days. There was a lot of banging and crashing and sleep was difficult. It sounded as if the cabin was going to fall apart. We were unable to go on the decks but plenty of activities during the day. Several passengers benefited from...

North Atlantic and Caribbean cruise Feb/Mar X903
By Julian Tremayne on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Overall a rather disappointing cruise (for the money spent) but with one redeeming feature. The North Atlantic did its best to stop us getting to Bermuda and indeed we took seven days rather than six. Unfortunately, this resulted in a rearrangement of the itinerary and we missed out Grand Turk, which was one reason for choosing this trip. Also, a week before sailing we were told that the ship had been refused to refuel at...

P & O are losing it
By John Ross on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Bermuda and back seemed a good idea with new calls for us at Bermuda and Grand Turk and a visit after many years to Nassau. A few days before sailing we were informed that we would now miss Nassau as on that day as it was full! but call instead at Freeport. A bad crossing weather wise meant we were late into Bermuda but the two-day stay was persisted with even though the second day...

Disappointing in a number of ways
By Geoff Baxter on 01 April 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Oriana Caribbean cruise x903 22/02/19 – 22/03/19 The cruise did not start well with a letter arriving before we sailed stating that we would be calling at Freeport rather than Nassau. We had believed that itineraries were organised two years in advance so this was a surprise. The perception among the passengers I spoke to suggested this was more to suit P&O logistics rather than the passengers. The ship had supposedly had a recent makeover...

A Sad Farewell.
By Mrs Doris Cox on 18 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Was I just lucky? I have travelled a lot on Oriana, but not recently. Following the passing of my husband, I decided to travel on my own to see the Panama Canal, which we had not been able to do, and say farewell to Oriana, our favourite ship. I am unable to join her for her last passage. I was allocated my cabin which was neat and clean with an excellent steward who acted straight...

Not up to usual standard
By Carole Bird on 01 February 2019
P&O Cruises | Oriana Reviews

Not happy that “Oriana” seemed to be treated as “a poor relation” when docking at several ports had been reserved some years ago, and then at the last minute we had to tender. This happened a couple of times – we were advertised as port and ended up tendering. Obviously, bad weather can’t be helped.

Never again

I have cruised 6 times with P&O. 3rd day I started with a horrendous cold. We could not turn the air con off. I reported a few times to deal with it. I was given a fan to put in the cabin. Don’t know how that was suppose to help. Everywhere you went on around the ship the air con was on full blast especially in the dining room. Both I and husband got chest...
