Very disappointing.
By John Bunker on 03 April 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

My wife and I have sailed on Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth. By comparison Queen Mary 2 was a big disappointment. Standards falling in every department and add on services very poor value. We had midships balcony stateroom on deck 11. (11109) You would think a good choice. However noise and vibration levels in this part of ship so high as to cause serious complaint. Problem acknowledged but only compensation offered was free wi-fi. Fancy...

An amazing journey to New York on a beautiful ship. Relaxing and excellent service. Good lectures and entertainment . Was pleased to rejoin ship for our voyage home can hardly tell your moving until you hit a force 11 gale but then it wasn’t too bad. Would make the journey again it was fabulous.

Have standards dropped?
By John on 27 November 2017
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

I was a little disappointed with my recent back-to-back transatlantic crossing on Queen Mary 2. This was my 4th Cunard voyage and I was expecting a similar level of service to previous voyages. However, I experienced belligerence from a member of the tours office and also truculence from some of the wine waiters. It was very apparent that staff reductions had been made and this was particularly obvious at meal times when a wait of...

Wonderful cruise across the Atlantic, NY to Southampton. One complaint re the mustering. It was held in the Kings Court restaurant, lots of chairs, yet for some reason we were required to stand whilst the announcement went on and on and on…….. Our trip to Niagara, New York, Southampton was wonderfully organised by Bolsover – all cars were ready and waiting to take us to train stations, hotels, cruise terminals – and lovely cars they...

Team Cruise
By Alison Dunn on 01 November 2017
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

This cruise was to celebrate two 50th birthdays in our group of eight. It turned out to be rather more than our usual weekend away! All were a little nervous about spending the whole week together, on a ship. We need not have feared. The ship was beautiful; the décor and art interesting on all decks, the staterooms very comfortable; the dining was superb and catered for all tastes and occasions; the staff were helpful...

These turned out to be three cruises so, we did have some additional benefits. Three freebie lunches in speciality restaurant, but we were not impressed so only went to two. You only had a choice of three mains. We had three lots of computer time. Some of the Canadian ports we couldn’t visit due to special whales in the area so we had to avoid them! Poor speakers and poor entertainment. We were dismayed when...

The cruise from Southampton to Le Havre and on to New York finishing at Quebec was excellent.
By T D Salter on 09 October 2017
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Disembarkation We had to off QM2 by 9.45 am. We were told to leave our luggage at the baggage collection point but were chased from pillar to point. The staff could not differentiate between red and pink, and after 20 minutes we finally managed to convince those people on duty that we were in the pink category and not red, we managed to store our luggage as advised. We speak very little French and they...

Cooler weather cruise to Norwegian Fjords
By Jennifer Pearson on 28 July 2017
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Our fifth cruise on Queen Mary 2. Decided to cruise in cooler climes although we do prefer the sun on our backs. The fjords were beautiful, especially enjoyed Flam and Bergen. The Flam railway was a must do! Everywhere so clean. Norway is very expensive as we expected and this was reflected in the price of excursions. However Cunard do price everything over the odds in our opinion. Do not buy Hop on Hop off...

Cruise to Norway on QM2 July 2017
By Peter Ongley on 28 July 2017
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

As always a cruise on the QM2 is a wonderful experience. The real problem is the cost of everything, especially drinks. A cruise in the fjords is a wonderful experience but I won’t recommend a cruise that involves an overnight in Olden, it’s far too small to be there for more than a day at the most.

This was a fly out – cruise back on the transatlantic crossing. We flew from Edinburgh non stop to JFK New York on an American Airlines flight which is timed at 6hrs 40min but got there in just over 6 hours. Baggage recovery and immigration and customs were swift and congenial. There was a problem with being met for our transfer to Manhattanwhich is currently under review. However our Crowne Plaza hotel on Broadway was...

Very disappointed with suite. Bathroom left a lot to be desired crack in wash basin and bath. Plug not connected, small item but with other two worth a mention. Bathroom was kept very clean by Joe and no complaints there. Dining room crew were also excellent. Would not consider princess suite again if they are all the same, either Queens or BB.

Transatlantic Wedding

We booked QM2 transatlantic return for our Wedding Venue to travel in May 2016. Two months prior to travelling in May I was diagnosed with a Spinal Tumour, and underwent a successful 6 hour operation, 4 weeks later my husband to be was diagnosed with a detached retina and operated on successfully within 24 hours. Thus we had to cancel the cruise and wedding plans. Cunard was brilliant and refunded the money for the wedding...

A wonderful cruise after four frenetic days sightseeing in New York, enhanced by a day at Halifax Nova Scotia Canada and visits to the Annapolis Valley and Grand Pre Vineyards and the Town of Wolfville for lunch. Besides a slow embarkation check in, at Brooklyn docks New York, our time on board was most enjoyable with service and high standards expected on Cunard Cruises. There was plenty to do and be involved in during the...

First Ever Cruise
By Alison Wood on 23 September 2016
Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Reviews

Just experienced our first ever cruise. Following advice from lots of cruiser friends, we chose Cunard Queen Mary 2, four nights sailing from Southampton to Bruges and Guernsey. We chose a short cruise Incase we didn’t find our sea legs! And this ship, as she has the largest dance floor afloat, and Cunard are renowned for being the best? We should discover if these claims were true. After arriving around 11am, the parking was excellent....

We had a fantastic time aboard the QM2. The service from our private butler, waiting staff and bar staff was impeccable. Our queens grill suite was very roomy even though a little tired, however we were aware the ship was due a refit. The food was outstanding. My only criticism with the ship was the outside areas I.e pool areas, which had a lot of broken tiles and one of the pools was out of order...
