 - Ship Review Queen Victoria Reviews

After an extensive refit in 2017, Queen Victoria doesn’t just meet expectations, she exceeds them. Her facilities are amongst the most modern on the
seas, yet she exudes an air of traditional elegance so evocative of great liners past. Luxurious marble, Art Deco accents, dark wood panelling, rich fabrics and opulent decoration create a special ambience and provide the perfect backdrop for Cunard’s renowned ‘White Star’ service.

Title: No Superior than the Other Lines Summary: Cunard Victoria does not offer anything extra or superior to P&O or Princess although they would like you to think they do. On Cunard Victoria there is no favourites section on the menu, some of the evening cabaret was not to our taste (Classical violinist & Opera singer) & we could never get a seat in the pub for the quiz. If ballroom dancing is for you then you’ll be ok they do have a...

Title: One little “moan” Summary: It is a considerable time (two years) since we cruised Cunard and since we had satisfaction with dining room seating in the past we thought nothing surer than all would be to our liking this time. We found differently! We had “wrongly” assumed that seating in the Queens Grill would be on a first come first serve basis and also that tables could be interchanged each evening. This we had experienced with Princess Cruises with...

Title: Great cruise on Queen Victoria Summary: Had a great cruise on Queen Victoria to Iceland, the ship is beautiful, the food was excellent, all the staff were very helpful, the entertainment was brilliant. If there was anything to be negative about it was a bit too formal after six clock a jacket had to be worn and there was no freedom dinning, but didn’t put us off, would go with Cunard again.

Title: Fantastic Cruise on Cunard Queen Victoria Summary: Just come back from one of the best Cruises we have ever been on. We decided to try a new Cruise line for our Journey to Norway and Iceland and went with “Cunard” Queen Victoria. Having never been with Cunard we were a bit apprehensive especially about the more Formal side of the Cruise. Embarkation at Southampton was the quickest we have ever done, from getting off the Coach to stepping onto the Ship less than...

Title: Our cruise to Norway, Iceland & Stornoway Summary: Just back from our cruise which we had mixed feelings about. Itinerary good, weather could have been better, didn’t expect 9 degrees in Olden and snow. We were told the week before it was 21. Iceland was sunny and 16, which we expected. Biggest disappointment drink prices with an added 15% service charge which we knew about. A bottle of beer & G&T worked out at £6 each. Wine at the table Chenin Blanc –...

Title: Standards slipping unfortunately Summary: My Wife and I attended the 7 day Norwegain Fjords cruise and have to say the destination was beautiful. 4 ports in a week-long cruise. The first, Haugesund was instantly forgettable, utterly pointless destination. Olden, Flam and Bergen were lovely, particularly Bergen, very beautiful. The real let down on this cruise however, was the fact that we had sailed on Queen Victoria last October 2018 and the entertainment was virtually the same! Some of the...

Title: Wines were far to expensive Summary: This was our first experience on Cunard , the food was excellent and the staff you could not fault. Entertainment was very good and the one lecture I attended also was excellent it was a talk by Andrew Jarrett on the running of the Wimbledon tennis Championship. The big turn of for me was the extortionate wine prices $40 including 12% service charge I am afraid for this reason I will not be going on...

Title: ” Best by far” Summary: We have just returned from a Fjords cruise this was our 8th with Cunard, having cruised with may other lines over many years, first time on Queen Victoria. We were very happy with all aspects of this ship & it’s crew. So lovely to dress up for formal nights, jacket for men required in the restaurant in the evenings & no shorts or jeans. but…. if it is not to your liking there is less...

Title: Simply amazing Summary: Just to help you decide This was our first cruise with Cunard We went from Southampton to Norwegian fjords for a week We were so lucky with the weather which we didn’t plan for and were there to celebrate Norway’s constitution day which was also amazing As for the boat it is more formal than we usually go for So if you don’t like dressing up it won’t suit you . The staff were not...

Title: Atlantic Crossing East to West Summary: This was our first Cunard experience, and we were not disappointed. We were on the first sector of the 2019 World Cruise; this would take us from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale, stopping at Bermuda and Port Canaveral. We were under no illusions with six sea days before the first port of call we would need to find plenty to do. Also, the North Atlantic in January could have been very rough (think North Sea trawler!),...

Title: Christmas and New Year 2018 Summary: We had a wonderful cruise throughout although the bad weather in Madeira stopped us going ashore which was disappointing. I felt really sorry for the people on the island as not many people could go ashore to shop I think there was only one cruise ship in dock. The rest were anchored in the bay. They had spent millions of euros on the truly awesome firework display to celebrate the 600th year of Madeira.

Title: Christmas and New Year Summary: Very dissapointed with food not as good as usual and sometimes came up cold!! Christmas Day was not great, we had upgraded to grill suite and sometimes it felt we were in a old peoples home when going for a coffee in the small Lounge most people were asleep will not be paying the extra money to go up there again, getting off the ship was a shambles quite a lot of people obviously did...

Title: Christmas and New Year. Summary: Brilliant all round until 9.30 pm on 4th Jan when I tripped over a small light box plugged inon the floor shining a light up a pillar in the Queens room. Wheelchaired back to my room and spent the last day in pain and movement restricted. I have received report from H&R offficer and am awaiting comment from Cunard

Title: Canaries Cruise. More sea, less weather Summary: Cunard service and standards were as usual very high. Out of 10 days cruising, five were at sea and only two days of good weather. The excursions were pricey for what they delivered and the drinks on board astronomical. The daily hotel charge was confusing as you got the heavy impression from crew that they still expected a tip. After all we had paid for the cruise with staff and service, backroom staff and all.

Title: Preloved Christmas break Summary: Have just had a 10 day Canaries cruise just before Christmas. The ship was decorated for Christmas and all the details of the cruise were as expected top notch. All the staff were professional in their roles and customer service was second to none. Our ports of call were as expected and we enjoyed seeing the sites. Great value for money and 5-star treatment throughout.

Title: Pre Christmas Cruise to the Canaries Summary: We have been on Queen Victoria once before and we were not disappointed with our second cruise. Our cabin was clean, well furnished, but the shower room lacked storage space and the bath towels were rather small. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and the beds were extremely comfy. The whole ship had been tastefully decorated with seasonal garlands and trees etc and looked magnificent. Food was varied and mostly excellent as was the...
