 - Ship Review Queen Victoria Reviews

After an extensive refit in 2017, Queen Victoria doesn’t just meet expectations, she exceeds them. Her facilities are amongst the most modern on the
seas, yet she exudes an air of traditional elegance so evocative of great liners past. Luxurious marble, Art Deco accents, dark wood panelling, rich fabrics and opulent decoration create a special ambience and provide the perfect backdrop for Cunard’s renowned ‘White Star’ service.

Title: Nice relaxed cruise but disappointed with food Summary: Cruise to canaries in November, so the sea was a little rough at times. The ship although not the newest was well maintained and comfortable. The majority of staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the buffet was ok but the main restaurant was very disappointing. Food was not well presented and often the leaves in any salad were wilted and soggy. The meals were hurried and certainly not a special occasion! Not one...

Title: Cunard has gone down Summary: We have cruised many times with Cunard but not for a couple of years, OH dear what a dissappointment The service in Bars and Resturant has gone down, staff just not interested , it seemed as if it was the end of contracts and staff just did not want to be there. The food in resturant POOR many meals sent back, and very small portions. At this moment in time we feel the cruise was...

Title: Crew Fatique Summary: Its a shame that when high expectations are not met Leaves a question mark as to why. First on a positive note Embarkation was stress free and my Cabin steward was excellent she was most attentive and an asset to Cunard. Lectures were of a high standard. The entertainment was on the whole except-able However in some parts of the ship the crew seem to lack motivation and empathy. As of one example I reported...

Title: very, very disappointing Summary: This our first and probably only cruise with Cunard. Our doubts started before we left home as there were no times of arrivals or departures at any port and when I phoned Bolsover to query this, they said we’d find out on board. Now we know why. We made to believe we had 2 days in tromso and Narvic todiscover that the ship left both ports at 3 am thus we were at sea. 7...

Title: Canaries on Queen Victoria Summary: Just back from the 1st cruise with Cunard, sadly this was the worst cruise after 20 years with P&O,one week later my wife and I are still getting over it. The weather was not kind to us and we missed Lisbon because of gales, so sailed non stop from Lanzaroti through gales to Southampton. If you love dancing then Cunard is for you, that said the ship did not suit us,not a lot of outside deck...

Title: Cunard getting more expensive Summary: Just returned from cruise on Queen Victoria Mid October 2019- From our last trip on this ship (15 months ago) the standard has dropped. although the entertainment , and talks were of very high standard- food ( we were in Britannia club) not of expected and experience standard- even the a la carte was not updated on a twelve night cruise . What now appears to be most expensive is drinks in lounges (not Lido)...

Title: Canary Islands cruise Summary: Ship is in need of some refurbishment. Wallpaper in stateroom starting to peel off and the stair carpet is beginning to,fray in places. Did not use the main restaurant but found the Lido Buffet exceptionally good, with wide variety of choices for main meal and deserts. Entertainment was 1st class and also very interesting guest speakers.

Title: Beautiful Summary: Cunard. Our favourite cruise line and this ‘jewel in their crown ‘ our favourite ship. Enjoyed a wonderful sunny Med cruise and everything was perfect. Title: No Superior than the Other Lines Summary: Cunard Victoria does not offer anything extra or superior to P&O or Princess although they would like you to think they do. On Cunard Victoria there is no favourites section on the menu, some of the evening cabaret was not to our taste (Classical violinist & Opera singer) & we could never get a seat in the pub for the quiz. If ballroom dancing is for you then you’ll be ok they do have a...

Title: One little “moan” Summary: It is a considerable time (two years) since we cruised Cunard and since we had satisfaction with dining room seating in the past we thought nothing surer than all would be to our liking this time. We found differently! We had “wrongly” assumed that seating in the Queens Grill would be on a first come first serve basis and also that tables could be interchanged each evening. This we had experienced with Princess Cruises with...

Title: Great cruise on Queen Victoria Summary: Had a great cruise on Queen Victoria to Iceland, the ship is beautiful, the food was excellent, all the staff were very helpful, the entertainment was brilliant. If there was anything to be negative about it was a bit too formal after six clock a jacket had to be worn and there was no freedom dinning, but didn’t put us off, would go with Cunard again.

Title: Fantastic Cruise on Cunard Queen Victoria Summary: Just come back from one of the best Cruises we have ever been on. We decided to try a new Cruise line for our Journey to Norway and Iceland and went with “Cunard” Queen Victoria. Having never been with Cunard we were a bit apprehensive especially about the more Formal side of the Cruise. Embarkation at Southampton was the quickest we have ever done, from getting off the Coach to stepping onto the Ship less than...

Title: Our cruise to Norway, Iceland & Stornoway Summary: Just back from our cruise which we had mixed feelings about. Itinerary good, weather could have been better, didn’t expect 9 degrees in Olden and snow. We were told the week before it was 21. Iceland was sunny and 16, which we expected. Biggest disappointment drink prices with an added 15% service charge which we knew about. A bottle of beer & G&T worked out at £6 each. Wine at the table Chenin Blanc –...

Title: Standards slipping unfortunately Summary: My Wife and I attended the 7 day Norwegain Fjords cruise and have to say the destination was beautiful. 4 ports in a week-long cruise. The first, Haugesund was instantly forgettable, utterly pointless destination. Olden, Flam and Bergen were lovely, particularly Bergen, very beautiful. The real let down on this cruise however, was the fact that we had sailed on Queen Victoria last October 2018 and the entertainment was virtually the same! Some of the...

Title: Wines were far to expensive Summary: This was our first experience on Cunard , the food was excellent and the staff you could not fault. Entertainment was very good and the one lecture I attended also was excellent it was a talk by Andrew Jarrett on the running of the Wimbledon tennis Championship. The big turn of for me was the extortionate wine prices $40 including 12% service charge I am afraid for this reason I will not be going on...
