 - Ship Review Queen Victoria Reviews

After an extensive refit in 2017, Queen Victoria doesn’t just meet expectations, she exceeds them. Her facilities are amongst the most modern on the
seas, yet she exudes an air of traditional elegance so evocative of great liners past. Luxurious marble, Art Deco accents, dark wood panelling, rich fabrics and opulent decoration create a special ambience and provide the perfect backdrop for Cunard’s renowned ‘White Star’ service.

Brilliant all round until 9.30 pm on 4th Jan when I tripped over a small light box plugged inon the floor shining a light up a pillar in the Queens room. Wheelchaired back to my room and spent the last day in pain and movement restricted. I have received report from H&R offficer and am awaiting comment from Cunard

Canaries Cruise. More sea, less weather
By Desmond Ward on 02 January 2019
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Cunard service and standards were as usual very high. Out of 10 days cruising, five were at sea and only two days of good weather. The excursions were pricey for what they delivered and the drinks on board astronomical. The daily hotel charge was confusing as you got the heavy impression from crew that they still expected a tip. After all we had paid for the cruise with staff and service, backroom staff and all.

Preloved Christmas break
By James Tivey on 02 January 2019
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Have just had a 10 day Canaries cruise just before Christmas. The ship was decorated for Christmas and all the details of the cruise were as expected top notch. All the staff were professional in their roles and customer service was second to none. Our ports of call were as expected and we enjoyed seeing the sites. Great value for money and 5-star treatment throughout.

Pre Christmas Cruise to the Canaries
By Jennifer Fairchild on 02 January 2019
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

We have been on Queen Victoria once before and we were not disappointed with our second cruise. Our cabin was clean, well furnished, but the shower room lacked storage space and the bath towels were rather small. Plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and the beds were extremely comfy. The whole ship had been tastefully decorated with seasonal garlands and trees etc and looked magnificent. Food was varied and mostly excellent as was the...

Nice cruise but……..
By Philip Theaker on 21 December 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

We enjoyed our cruise to the Caribbean in Nov/Dec. Everything about the ship was good except for the onboard prices especially drinks. These are very expensive & then they add 15% service charge which is in addition to the daily service charge of US$11.50. (Cancelled that on day 2 like most of the passengers!) Why a ship that prides itself on being British, prices everything in US$ amazes me. They do however let you bring...

Spoilt by the price of drinks
By P Ferguson on 29 November 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Just one thing was seriously wrong with our recent cruise to Spain and Portugal on Queen Victoria and that was the price of acholic drinks. On day one we had two glasses is Sauvignon Blanc in the Lido $32.20 inc service, first night a bottle of SB $43.70. Then a wine package, 12 bottles $560. Admitably two Gordon Gin and Schweppes tonics in a bar were only $20.70! Appreciate that the rubbish pound to dollar...

Long weekend away on Queen Victoria, why not?
By Chris Thompson on 27 November 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Having previously enjoyed both the QM2 and the Queen Elizabeth the opportunity to enjoy a cheeky long weekend on the Queen Victoria was too good to miss. Three nights in November short trip to Le Havre was just what the doctor ordered. The Q.V. is nominally smaller than the QE, hardly noticeable though. For such a short trip we opted for an inside stateroom which proved small but completely adequate, for longer trips my wife...

First fly cruise
By IAN MANNING on 06 November 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

This was our first fly cruise and was a bit on edge about it. We had no need to worry as Cunard were first class. We flew from Manchester airport on a chartered jet operated by Jet 2. They had a dedicated check-in just for us and Jet 2 staff were there to make our passage through with ease. Landed in Rome to be met by Cunard staff who took our cases from us only...

Amazing

If you prefer the peaceful way of cruising and the formal way of cruising you have to go Cunard. The way everybody dresses for evening is very gratifying and the way the Restaurant staff keep this is impeccable not one person got into the restaurant in jeans or without a jacket(for men). It is a real pleasure to cruise with Cunard, having done 33 cruises now can you tell how delighted we are. Have booked...

Our cruise on the Queen Victoria
By Tom on 15 October 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Not much to say except thotoughly enjoyed it. Made a change to the QM2 which we normally go on and the size and layout made it easier to get around. We had the Mauritania Suite and just loved it. Plenty of room, great service from our butler, Lourdes and Wilson her little helper. Great cruise.

Mediterranean Cruise

Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

This was a great cruise. Loved the ship. Food and service excellent. The evening shows were of a very high standard and all but one were very special. Comfortable lounges and one could almost always get some seating in the pool area on Deck 9. We had a small internal cabin and would have preferred a window but didn’t spend much time there so not a problem. Fare was extremely reasonable. Drinks in the bars...

First cruise from Southampton
By Happy traveller on 21 September 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

We normally fly out to join a cruise. Our first sailing from Southampton on 31st August 2018 was a great success. The sea was calm all the way to Rome and on to Barcelona. It is our 3rd trip on Victoria and we loved it. Food in Britannia Restaurant was very good and we had exceptional service from Jeffrey and Roberto. We also had an excellent meal at the Verandah. We enjoyed destinations new to...

Noisy cabin
By Vanessa on 19 September 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Everything was at Cunard’s high level of expertness as usual. My only problem was the stateroom we had, 1027, please be careful of this cabin when booking, the room is just below the Red Lion pub, on certain nights the noise was like having a disco in our cabin, I advise anyone booking a future cruise on Victoria or indeed Elizabeth, please be wary of these cabin.

Been there worn….No, not at all
By Rob Fairclough on 17 September 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

I have already posted a review on Cruise Critic, it was that good! This time last week we were in Rome, on a disembarkation excursion! Whitchurch as a taster leaves you wanting more, but take note and don’t cut yourself short by just coming home as we did, at the end of your cruise! Delay your flight home, spend a few days in Rome, you won’t even scratch to the surface of this city. It...

Disappointing
By Terry Lloyd on 07 September 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

The decor and surroundings of this ship are outstanding, however, that is where it ends – based on this our first (and last) Cunard cruise both my wife and myself would not recommend this line to anyone. We have previously done eight cruises so it is not as if we are new to the experience, however in our opinion all the others are way and above Cunard, the negative points this time are far too...

Baltic Cruise
By Philip Dunkerley on 03 September 2018
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Enjoyable Baltic cruise on a fine ship. A number of niggles though: wine at dinner is ridiculously expensive; our requested seating arrangement in the Britannia Restaurant was not honoured; Cunard attempted to ‘sneak’ service charges onto our bill without any explanation (a completely unacceptable procedure); internet is restricted and expensive; access to the Promenade deck was too often restricted (for cleaning or painting), including on sea-days; the electronic key system for the cabin doors is...

This was second trip on Queen Vic and possibly last. Having sailed on her in November 17 ( Big Band cruise) which we really enjoyed, apart from the great music the service and food standard (Princess Grill) was excellent. This time alas the stateroom was not to the same standard and the service and food was to say at the least, inconsistent (also Princess Grill). However, the music provided by rewind (combo of 10cc and...
