Cunard Line Ship Review Queen Victoria Reviews

After an extensive refit in 2017, Queen Victoria doesn’t just meet expectations, she exceeds them. Her facilities are amongst the most modern on the
seas, yet she exudes an air of traditional elegance so evocative of great liners past. Luxurious marble, Art Deco accents, dark wood panelling, rich fabrics and opulent decoration create a special ambience and provide the perfect backdrop for Cunard’s renowned ‘White Star’ service.

Title: First cruise from Southampton Summary: We normally fly out to join a cruise. Our first sailing from Southampton on 31st August 2018 was a great success. The sea was calm all the way to Rome and on to Barcelona. It is our 3rd trip on Victoria and we loved it. Food in Britannia Restaurant was very good and we had exceptional service from Jeffrey and Roberto. We also had an excellent meal at the Verandah. We enjoyed destinations new to...

Title: Noisy cabin Summary: Everything was at Cunard’s high level of expertness as usual. My only problem was the stateroom we had, 1027, please be careful of this cabin when booking, the room is just below the Red Lion pub, on certain nights the noise was like having a disco in our cabin, I advise anyone booking a future cruise on Victoria or indeed Elizabeth, please be wary of these cabin.

Title: Been there worn….No, not at all Summary: I have already posted a review on Cruise Critic, it was that good! This time last week we were in Rome, on a disembarkation excursion! Whitchurch as a taster leaves you wanting more, but take note and don’t cut yourself short by just coming home as we did, at the end of your cruise! Delay your flight home, spend a few days in Rome, you won’t even scratch to the surface of this city. It...

Title: Disappointing Summary: The decor and surroundings of this ship are outstanding, however, that is where it ends – based on this our first (and last) Cunard cruise both my wife and myself would not recommend this line to anyone. We have previously done eight cruises so it is not as if we are new to the experience, however in our opinion all the others are way and above Cunard, the negative points this time are far too...

Title: Baltic Cruise Summary: Enjoyable Baltic cruise on a fine ship. A number of niggles though: wine at dinner is ridiculously expensive; our requested seating arrangement in the Britannia Restaurant was not honoured; Cunard attempted to ‘sneak’ service charges onto our bill without any explanation (a completely unacceptable procedure); internet is restricted and expensive; access to the Promenade deck was too often restricted (for cleaning or painting), including on sea-days; the electronic key system for the cabin doors is...

Title: Norwegian Fjords Summary: This was second trip on Queen Vic and possibly last. Having sailed on her in November 17 ( Big Band cruise) which we really enjoyed, apart from the great music the service and food standard (Princess Grill) was excellent. This time alas the stateroom was not to the same standard and the service and food was to say at the least, inconsistent (also Princess Grill). However, the music provided by rewind (combo of 10cc and...

Title: Fabulous Norweigan Fjord cruise Summary: We have had a fabulous cruise on the Queen Victoria to the Norwegian Fjords. The service, food and ship were brilliant. I also enjoyed the water colour painting classes I did whilst on the ship. We would highly recommend it. The only negatives for us were the very expensive and poor wifi and the very expensive and poor choice of wines – we expected a better choice, more reasonably priced. The other thing to note...

Title: Very Disappointing Summary: The food in the main restaurant was so disappointing that by the fourth night of our cruise we gave up and ate at the Lido buffet for the rest of the cruise. This wasn’t great and I didn’t expect to pay so much to then serve myself every evening to lukewarm food. We had sailed on the ship before and it was good then but not now. Cunard seems to be trying to save money...

Title: Ruby Wedding Cruise Summary: My wife and I have cruised with several different cruise companies before, but as this was a special occasion we decided to choose Cunard as we presumed they were a cut above the rest. Unfortunately this was not the case. The ship itself was five star, however in comparison with previous cruises the menu was limited and at times the food was lukewarm. Drinks were extremely expensive even before the service charge was added. The...

Title: Lassy Summary: Just returned from a four night round trip cruise from Southampton to Hamburg on Queen Victoria and this was our fifty cruise and the third with cunard, only one minor blip the cruise personliser said there were no formal nights yet when on board the second night was a formal night this was rather disappointing because we left our tuxedos at home and we do like to conform to the dress code because cunard are...

Title: Hamburg 23rd – 27th March 2018 Summary: A superb short cruise in a fine ship recently refurbished. Part of the trip was to assess the Britannia Club service as we like to eat “anytime”. The Club service is excellent and the restaurant offers an “a la cart” option menu in addition to the main Britannia menu. We tried the Verandah french restaurant one evening and in our opinion it was not worth the $78 supplement. The overall service was excellent and in...

Title: Standards dropping Summary: We have just returned from a cruise on the Queen Victoria. We did the Santiago to Southampton section of her South American voyage. How disappointing. We have cruised many times with Cunard and have sailed before on the Victoria. Getting from the airport to the ship was bad. Passenger handling at the airport was chaotic. Once out of the airport we were taken to a holding room. When asked how long we would be there...

Title: Queen Victoria – 30 nights – Santiago (Chile) to Southampton. Summary: We flew from Heathrow on a BA flight to Santiago and had an excellent flight. We were met at the airport, rather chaotic, but after all this was South America, and we were soon on our way to the ship. A bonus being that we stepped at a vineyard on route. The check in was fine, but as soon as we stepped on board we could sense something different. During Queen Victoria’s refit last May...

Title: Exceeded our expectations Summary: Our first sea cruise, taken as a means of getting to South America, was every bit as good as the recommendations we had received. All the food was very good quality, well-served in both restaurants, Britannia and Lido. Our cabin on Deck 6 was very comfortable. We were particularly surprised by the breadth and quality of music provided around the ship, daytime and evening, and relaxed to either the String Quartet or the cocktail pianist...

Title: New Year without Brugge Summary: Unfortunately due to adverse weather conditions we didn’t get into Zebrugge so no trip to Brugge. Bit of a shame but to have missed Amsterdam would have been terrible. What a wonderful place to see in the New Yea. Fireworks, they go off the length and breath of the city. We had a personal display close into the ship which went on for about 20 minutes but we had to return to the warmth of...
