Cunard Line Ship Review Queen Victoria Reviews

After an extensive refit in 2017, Queen Victoria doesn’t just meet expectations, she exceeds them. Her facilities are amongst the most modern on the
seas, yet she exudes an air of traditional elegance so evocative of great liners past. Luxurious marble, Art Deco accents, dark wood panelling, rich fabrics and opulent decoration create a special ambience and provide the perfect backdrop for Cunard’s renowned ‘White Star’ service.

It was our first cruise together on Cunard’s Queen Victoria. What a wonderful ship! Everything was as expected with this first class company. From embarkation on the 1st June 2013 to disembark on the 15th June was excellent. After leaving the car on the quay to arriving into our cabin took less than 40 minutes considering that the ship was ‘full’. Our baggage was already on board waiting for us. The outside cabin was spacious...

We returned from our cruise a week ago, and everything went accordingly to plan from Bolsovers efficient service, as always, to the weather. Not a cloud in the sky until we hit the Portugese coast on the way back. Whilst we cannot fault the Queen Victoria, for food, entertainment, comfort etc., we do feel that they are cashing in on the guests by charging extortionate prices for most things on board. The wine and drinks...

Cunard do an outstanding cruise. The Queen Victoria cruise to the Canary Islands was our 67th cruise, not just with Cunard, but with other cruise lines as well. Whilst we enjoy other cruise lines, this cruise on Victoria had outstanding features. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully prepared and served by an exceptional waitress, the entertainment was top class, with a great dance team, but also with outstanding individual artists, many of whom had performed...

By Philip Higgins on 16 May 2013

Booked this 5 day cruise to Hamburg and Le Havre on Cunard’s Getaway deal and Bolsover came up trumps as usual. Originally reserved an A4 Balcony cabin and got upgraded to an A1 Balcony cabin which was on deck 8 at no additional cost. Room immaculate and the cabin steward courteous and efficiently unobtrusive. Requested a table for two at the early dining and thanks once more to Bolsover in getting us what we wanted....

Our first cruise with cunard. Disappointed with added 20% surcharge on most purchases on board because of short cruise. Also evening dinner seemed hurried and did not like having to order all courses at the same time. We will probably not travel with cunard again and wil will only travel with P&O with whom we have previously enjoyed seven cruises. We would however like to thank Bolsover for the professional way you dealt with all the arrangements....

Relaxing fly-cruise back from Dubai
By Tim Fellows on 03 May 2013
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Having cruised twice before, including once on the Queen Elizabeth, we largely knew what to expect when we boarded the Queen Victoria in Dubai, joining the last leg of it’s world voyage back to Southampton. Briefly, on the two ships, there is little difference in the layouts. The sports deck on the QE is better, being covered and having bowls and croquet but otherwise the experience is largely the same. Dubai: The overall trip was...

Joined ship in Singapore for trip to Dubai, we dined in one of the main restaurants, food was very good but we felt rushed to eat our meals, food in the buffet was not up to standard, the food in the speciality restaurants was excellent, the entertainment in the main theatre was very disappointing to say the lease, spoke to a lot of regular cruise travellers who stated that the standard of the food in the...

My second cruise to Australia on the QV, I have only been on the Arcadia (world cruise) & Oriana (Med cruise) .Cunard get very little wrong.A lot of care was taken to keep the ship free of the stomach virus when leaving Southampton.Getting on board at Southampton was the usual waiting in a long queue.Cant this be speedier? All service was very good.Lectures were not to my taste ,except for Gerald Scarfe. The dancers etc were...

We had a lovely time on Queen Victoria. It was just a short break to celebrate my 70th birthday. Everything was excellent. Ship was very spacious to others we have been on, food was good and the entertainment was the best we have even seen on any of our cruises. What we were impressed with was the precautions they took to prevent the norovirus. Well done Cunard !!

Christmas Market Cruise

Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

It was our first time with Cunard and a winter cruise(and mums first ever cruise) we went with the Children on a pre Xmas break. We have sailed with 3 other companies previously (Royal Caribbean, P&O & Princess) and I have to say all have their pros and cons. All I would say is that the Queen Victoria and her staff are 5*, the service was impeccable! The Christmas markets made us feel very excited...

Unsatisfactory boarding and disembarcation procedures
By Clive MATHESON on 20 November 2012
Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

My wife and I have recently returned from a cruise on the Queen Victoria. In general we were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the cruise except one. The boarding arrangements at Southampton were a disgrace. I am registered disabled and upon arrival joined a crowd of several hundred other passengers, many having to queue outside the building, attempting to book in. There were separate arrangements for disabled persons but I had to stand for...

My wife has been trying to get me to cruise for the last few years. This year I capitulated and agred to go on a 5 day “taster”. From checking in to disembarking we enjoyed every minute. The food, service ,ship, and standards were fantastic. Although the weather was not very good it didn’t spoil any aspect of the cruise and we are already planning our next cruise. We picked Cunard simply because the itinery suited...

Being fairly new to cruising – been on Royal Carribean and P&O ships so far – we booked a Med cruise on the Queen Victoria, expecting it to be first class. But in our opinion (and that of some of our fellow passengers), it wasn’t. OK, we went Britannia class, and on the Victoria the general service and standard of food in the main restaurant was below par. We only ate there for the first...

Great trip on Queen Victoria through the Panama Canal

Cunard Line | Queen Victoria Reviews

Going through the Panama canal has been on our bucket list for some time, and an opportunity to escape the British winter was a great excuse to tick this one off the list. We have cruised half a dozen times before on a variety of ships, big and small, but not with Cunard. A smooth flight with Virgin into Miami, an efficient Cunard transfer to the Marriott Harbor Beach hotel in Fort Lauderdale for a...

The Queen Victoria is an absolutely beautiful ship both inside and out. The feel of the ship is very ‘British’ from the wood panelled library to the private boxes in the Royal Court Theatre. The Queens room is stunning and features live bands and orchestras as well as ballroom dancing. i found the staff, cabin & food exceptional and could not find any negatives at all. The ship is more formal than others i have...
