Title: Trials on board prove dinning experiences need improvement Summary: Obvious reduction in staff in the Cinnamaon and Saffron restaurant’s caused several reports of meals lasting 2 and 3 hrs. Waiters where rushed off their feet and now have to take wine orders and on some occasions were expected to take other people to tables in a different area. Card room has been taken over by an arcade which 95% of time was empty. Only place to play was on outer edge of glass house....

Title: Service very poor but lovely ship Summary: Great ship, comfy beds, small balcony rooms, service absolutely terrible. Hardly any staff to help. At the restaurant saffron took over a hour both Friday and Saturday evening to just get a drink. In the 2.5 hours we were in the restaurant we got to order 1 drink. It was 1 waiter for 40 people. Ruined it for us.

Title: Good cruise shame about the weather Summary: A much improved ship on that of Azura. A lot of furnishings updated but chair in our cabin filthy. Food excellent. Only ate most metals in Saffron. Had meal in Epicurian, which was excellent. The lobster very acceptable. Also ate in The Glass House. Where quality was the best and well cooked and presented. Disembarcation was better. Weather could have been better but not able to control that. Entertainment good and on last night due...

Title: Canaries Cruise And we were rocking and a rolling November 2019 Summary: From Embarkation to Disembarkation We were not disappointed as always the Fantastic Crew made our Holiday on the Ventura. We didn’t have the best of crossings or weather but the Captain kept us fully informed of what we were due to expect during our transition. The Food in the Bay Tree Restaurant was very good and the service as always First Class ,The buffet could be very crowded at times and tables were occupied for...

Title: First on P&O Summary: First impression on boarding the Ventura was, bright, clean and well presented. The reception (passenger services) were excellent a real fountain of knowledge, that is where staffing changed, waiters were miserable, never a smile and sometimes quite rude., the exception being the Head Waiter in Bay Tree who was very accommodating. Food was average in comparison to other cruise lines. Shore excursion staff were not interested in disabled passengers and were not pleased when told...

Title: Enjoyable Cruise Summary: Our fourth cruise with P & O, this time on the Ventura to Spain and Italy for 14 nights in October 2019. Balcony cabin very comfortable, cabin steward friendly and polite at all times and cabin clean and nothing forgotten. We had to ask for flannels but understand this a new policy that they are only given on request. Ship very clean and public area kept area generally in good condition. Dinning was good but...

Title: Autumn Spain & Portugal on Ventura Summary: Always a favourite ship along with Oceana we decided to return to P & O after a couple of years away. We found the same high standards of service and comfort and cleanliness along with increased food portions since our last voyage. We had been to some ports previously Vigo – not sure why they persist here but all of the others Lisbon, Cartagena, Malaga, Gibraltar and La Corunna were excellent/good. Weather was very good...

Title: Cruising to Spain and Portugal – 24th September to 6th October 2019 Summary: We had an excellent cruise on the Ventura. Excellent customer service, food and entertainment. More staff could be recruited to work in the restaurants in the evenings. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. P & O consistently maintain their high standards throughout the Company.

Title: Spain & Portugal 24/9 to 6/10 Summary: Third time on Ventura, looking fairly tired in areas. Like the new seating in Havana and Metropolitan. Food was very good in both self-service and MDR’s. Cut backs in staff in all areas is quite apparent since our previous cruise on her in 2017. The new regulations in regard to taking alcohol on board seems to me to be a complete waste of crew members time. I am sure they could be much more useful...

Title: Very Tired Ship Summary: We were on the Ventura 15 months ago and wow has it ever gone downhill for the prices paid! * Biggest problem was the lack of staff and the poor staff are very clearly unhappy in their jobs, due to the amount of work they have to do with little time to do it, felt extremely sorry for them. Cruising used to be such fun and the staff helped to make your cruise. * Loungers...

Title: The best cruise yet Summary: I returned on Sunday October 6th from a cruise on Ventura around the coast of Spain and Portugal. It was by far the best P&O cruise I have been on so far. The service and food were as good as ever, the entertainment as mixed as ever, the quizzes the same as ever, (same questions!), and the group of solo travellers I spent most of my time with outstanding! I can’t comment on P&O excursions...

Title: Wonderful Autumn break Summary: We have recently returned from 12 days on board Ventura. The ship has every facility for young and old alike. On this occasion we particularly enjoyed the walking trip in Lisbon organised by “Urban Adventures”. The variety and depth of the trip surprised all the 12 folks who we accompanied and is an excellent venture by P and O to use other companies for shore excursions. The entertainment was again first class and for the...

Title: Terrible standards now on P and O Summary: We have cruised many times with P and O and up until the last couple we have really enjoyed our time onboard. Our superior deluxe cabin on this occassion was a total disappointment and was dirty, especially around the bath and a dirty shower curtain. It needed a deep clean to remover the grime around the tiles above the bath and the floor especially around the loo, disgusting! The room was old and very tired...

Title: Another lovely cruise Summary: This was our first cruise on this ship, previously having sailed on P&O Arcadia and Oriana. We arrived at the Ocean Terminal in Southampton at 11.45am and by 12.15 we were on board enjoying the buffet lunch. The embarkation process was very slick, from being greeted by CPS parking personnel to check-in staff. Once on board we were directed to deck 15 where the buffet is located. There was plenty of choice and after lunch...

Title: Norway Cruise – 6th September 2019 Summary: Apart from a rainy day in Bergen the rest of the cruise was excellent. Great food and service plus great entertainment. First, visit to Alesund and loved it especially in glorious sunshine. It was our 4th visit to Norway and enjoyed it as much as the other 3.

Title: Disappointed Summary: Fourth time on Ventura and have always been delighted however very disappointed this time. Our cabin was lovely made even nicer by an excellent cabin steward Jay, nothing was too much trouble. We went Freedom Dining which suits us and overall the food in the restaurants was lovely although at times the service could be very slow and even though the waiters had been told we had come in early especially to go to the...

Title: Amsterdam Bruges and Guernsey 30 August 2019 Summary: Not cruised with P and O before, so was favourably impressed, a few issues but overall value for money. We thought that most of the decor on board was very nice. Balcony cabin pleasant slightly old fashioned, but well serviced by cabin staff. Alcohol prices were very reasonable, good choice and good service, bars and theatre. Buffet areas not good, certainly a step down from other cruise lines. The buffet station was cramped, very jostly,...

Title: Uncertain times… Summary: The cruise we have been on was one week to Amsterdam Bruges and Guernsey. Major maintenance work being carried out around the public areas of the ship …main deck next to the most popular bar on the ship. Rear pool area and bar, with seating removed, and safety tape stretched across, as a safety precaution.Very strange management decision. Standard on the Ventura definitely going down.

Title: The canals of Amsterdam Summary: We had a most enjoyable cruise. The tour of the canals of Amsterdam was excellent with a very knowledgeable and interesting guide. Due to a misunderstanding we did not get to Bruges. We were led to believe that there was a shuttle bus when, in fact, there wasn’t. The service for dinner was excellent but the same cannot be said for breakfast with a very slow set of waiters who, at times appeared truculent. The...
