Another great cruise with Viking

If it was not for the poor standard of cleaning in our Stateroom, I would have awarded 5stars across the board.

On our arrival,the balcony floor was filthy with remains of a cigar in the corner! Apart from the fact that smoking is not allowed in staterooms, we were concerned that we might get the blame so we immediately took a photo showing the date! Nightwear was hurriedly folded and talcum powder remained on the bathroom floor. There were also tea cup stains left on one morning. I only saw our steward once on the first day but after that no sign. For the first time ever, we left no tip for the cleaning! However, this was the only negative.

Food was delicious with a great choice and Viking can pride themselves on having the best staff ever particularly in the bar and restaurant. Entertainment was very professional and enjoyable and we made loads of new friends. Ports of call were interesting and guides very knowledgeable and friendly. Viking are probably one of the more expensive river cruise companies but they get it right. We were just unlucky with our Stateroom attendant (she may well have been under pressure to get all her cleaning done by a certain time?) One suggestion I would like to make is to install tea and coffee facilities in the staterooms. The tea and coffee station in one location is not ideal and most people enjoy a cuppa when they wake up- not the same to traipse up to deck three and then carefully walk back with two hot cups in your hands!!
