What do I think?  Not remotely interested in sailing on her.  I prefer a smaller ship with a classic cruise experience.  I'm not knocking her and I am sure lots of people will love her.  Just not for me.

the saying goes if you havent got anything good to say say nowt.
i usually stick to that, i do most of my shopping online as i struggle to walk any distance so consequently i get bombarded with the sites i use asking for reveiws. unless i am particularly impressed with something or extremely disapointed with something i ignore them. also if something disapoints i always contact them first to see if it cant be rectified. i wouldnt give a bad reveiw before contacting the company first and give them chance to put it right.
i dont use the reveiws to decide what to buy or where to go either as the bad ones are usually grossly exagerated . i used to go to las vegas a lot and if you read some of the hotel reveiws you wouldnt set foot in half of them.over the years ive probably stayed in all of them and none are bad thats for sure.

thats the problem with some of these reveiw sites anyone can go on and put up a reveiw even if theyve not been there or used the products. and it can be very damaging.
also i do feel that some people have outrageous expectations at times. you read some of the cruise reveiws and you wonder if theyve been on the same ship as youve been on.
i wrote a reveiw about the cruise on arcadia last year and checking back later i found several people wrote scathing reveiws about the same cruise that bore no relation to anything i saw on that cruise.

the wife died in 2003, she always left everything in piles for me to pack as i was so much better at getting the most into a suitcase. especially around all those bloomin shoes lol.
now its just a pair of pool shoes a pair of trainers and a pair of dress shoes. so much easier lol. mind i would give anything to have to be messing with 12 pairs of shoes again next month.

mainly owt it seems to be a gender divide lol. the colour of underwear specific to outerwear seems to be problematic.
the late good lady it was shoes to outfit compatability that seemed to cause tantrums.
me i just take the next pair in the pile and the next trousers off the hanger likewise shirt.
    its fun though tee hee.

Indeed Mitch it is 'gender divide' .. we do tend to match u/wear to outerwear as we do shoes/bags, my husband couldn't care less if his clothes match or not - just as well he has me to keep him in check 🙄😉

oh very true owt unless they go the nuclear route but how green is that really, less co2 but thats  about it. when they turn down tidal and wind projects ever will it be so. also all those objecting on scenic grounds etc really annoy me many of them claiming to be "greenies" but as soon as something spoils their view theyre up in arms. ther have been several wind and solar farm projects around here that have been stopped basically as they spoil some view of the countryside in some way. the govt not just here need to wake up and start bulldozing stuff through litterally in some cases.

    Hi OWT.
I believe it is the type of emissions that diesels produce ,not the amount that causes concern.
Anything that is manufactured leaves a carbon footprint .
The Car we are using does not need a charger, but recharges the battery when your on the move, you can see on the dash board which fuel it is using and when it is charging, for your average journey it uses both petrol and battery .No idea how they do it but it is very smooth, and efficient. How long will the battery last will be the big problem, and cost. But like most things they will become cheaper as time goes on.
Remember the first mobiles ,a very short battery time before you recharged them, now look at todays mobiles/? Cars I suspect will go the same way.But as you said Petrol will be around for the foreseeable future, and for me the mixed fuel car would be a good option ....Davybe

the problem has been that maufacturers have been less than honest with details of emmissions, fuel economy  etc etc. so the whole thing is totally confusing. not helped by governments and the eu changing their minds over which to promote or demote as the mood takes them. the issue with full blown electric is of course a lack of charging infrastructure and unless a govt bites the bullet and does something radical like make it compulsory for all new builds houses and commercial to have both solar panels and wind turbines and charging points.its not going to change quickly. short term i think some form of hybrid is best for most people, for those doing high mileages deisel and petrol for those who cant make their mind up lol.

mitch got a reaction from 2torts in Is Hybrid the way to go.
with hybrids it depends there are 2 varieties, plug in and none plug in. the none plug ins generate their own power from the cars braking system and some other stuff i dont understand lol.
the rest have the option to charge from the mains as well as the regenerative braking system.  then of course theres the full blown electric which has no petrol/diesel engine and it has to be charged from the mains.
i have a motability car at the moment a mini 3dr but when the lease is up i think i am going to go hybrid, i quite fancy the toyota h-cr.

i think theres a bit of difference when the job entails working with numbers HLM my brother in law just sees garbage when he looks at a column or row of numbers but he is one awesome car mechanic, has even worked with some major names including morgan but his wife has to do his invoices and books. i would have thought working in a retail environment ought to require basic numeracy.
