    Azura Better than expected.

Hello, We went on the Azura in March for two weeks, absolutely loved it. We were in desperate need of a holiday and for us, it was brilliant. There were some tired looking areas but nothing bad and to be honest, if you go looking for the bad stuff, I'm sure there would be more 🙂 we had a lovely time and were there for a much needed break. I think that due to needing a break so badly we were just happy to be there and this helped our enjoyment of everything if that makes sense? 🙂 one of the main things we noticed was how friendly the staff were, this could have been because we always smiled and were friendly to them so we were treated the same way in return. We had a lovely time, I'm sure you will too 🙂 there probably were lots of little things we could have found if we went looking but we didn't want to and didn't need to, the food was lovely, the staff were amazing and the ship was great. Again, this is all very subjective though, we needed a getaway and had been looking forward to it for 12 months!! .. it met all of our expectations and then some 🙂 hope you have a lovely time

    Azura Better than expected.

Came back from a Caribbean trans-atlantic in March on Azura and can honestly say it was the best holiday I have had in a long time. Staff were very happy and attentive, Food was lovely (the meal we had in sindhu could possibly be one of the best meals we have ever eaten) There were a few tired looking areas on the ship (jacuzzis looked worn and some carpets needed replacing) but nothing that detracted from the overall experience. Fellow passengers were exceptionally friendly (could have been the weather) but everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves. On previous cruises on Azura there have been a few rogues that have been shouting and yelling at crew for no reason but seemed to be very little of that this time (apart from the one guy that went mad in the buffet one morning because his eggs weren't cooked fast enough... again, the staff handled this very well and we made a point of passing on our thanks to the resturant manager as we left). We were very lucky and were in the first group to be let off the ship in Southampton at 8am so cant comment on the disembarkation this time around. In the past however, it has been a case of waiting around for an hour or so after our alloted time. Off on Ventura next (not sailed on her before) so will be interesting to compare the two.

    Room comparisons on P+O

Thanks for the info, Hope you had a good cruise! I have checked with P and O and they have said they are not doing ship tours this year! ... I think we are going to go for it and just live with the smaller balcony. Everything I have seen or read so far indicates Britannia will be amazing! Thanks again

Thanks, have heard great things about the ship. I'm going to give P+O a call and see if they can tell me when the ship visits will be as I'm sure we will go along and take a look.

    Family Cabins, The Lack Off!

Thanks, was right before we we due to sail (about two weeks before) that we found out. It was perfect... although I fear we are now going to be looking at suites each time we get a quote! 🙂

    Room comparisons on P+O

Hello all, Apologies if this has already been covered in another thread (I had a look but couldn't find anything similar). My family (wife, two small children and I) are looking to book our next P+O cruise. We have spotted a cruise that ticks all our boxes on Britannia but we haven't been on Britannia so we are unsure about rooms etc. We love going out on the balcony so a good balcony is a must for us but after reading not only this forum but others, we have seen people saying Britannia balconies are small. Our balcony on Azura was perfect for us all last time, space for us all to sit outside and enjoy it. Can anyone that's been on Britannia and either Azura or Ventura offer some advice on balcony size between them all? The Britannia plans and pictures we have seen do look smaller than Azura / Ventura but we were wondering (before we spend the money) if it's too much of a problem for anyone or if we are just overthinking it! We have tried to book a ship tour of Britannia but they haven't been released for 2019 yet (or at least that's what their website says). Thanks

    Family Cabins, The Lack Off!

I know it's been a while since any posts here but we had loads of trouble finding decent pictures etc of family rooms when we were trying to book a cruise. We went for a superior deluxe balcony cabin on Azura with P+O due to budget but we were very lucky to get an upgrade to a family suite (pictures below). We have two toddlers and this cabin was an absolute dream for space, kids had their own room that was part of the suite. Two bathrooms and a bath in one of them. Added benefits of butler and other perks of course but the extra space (and larger balcony) was perfect. Wish we could afford one every time we went!! I thought people might appreciate pictures of our room ... D106 on Azura.
  10. Thanks, good to know :-)
  11. That was going to be the next question I had... can anyone advise what the balconies are like on Britannia? .. haven't been on her yet and the wife and I are curious what the ship / cabins are like
  12. Hello, My wife and I were looking at a superior deluxe cabin on Azura for the Caribbean next year, also taking the little ones (2 and a 3 year old) with us. Has anyone been in these types of cabin with young children? Im sure the cabin type would be perfect for us but just wanted to see what others thought if anyone has been in one with toddlers in tow? Thanks

    Balcony Or Not To Balcony?

Having had an inside, outside and balcony cabin I would personally say that balcony cabins are the way to go. On one cruise we sailed into Madeira at 5.30am, my wife woke me up and we stood on the balcony with a cup of tea watching the land get closer as the sun rose. We spent all our spare time out on it and it was lovely to come back to the cabin at night and sit out there for 10 mins, listen to the waves and relax. Well worth the extra pennies :-)
