    P&O ships futures.

They are both part of Carnival so Princess does not need to swallow up P&O, but I doubt that any restructuring of the Carnival group caused due to the Covid19 crisis would see Princess and P&O merged together.

    P&O ships futures.

Since Princess is predominantly a US based cruise line and P&O is even more a totally UK based company, then I see no prospect of Carnival merging their operations, and even when Princess was a subsidiary of P&O there was no effort made to merge them.

    Never thought Cunard and P&O

I believe the wall st crash in 1929 followed a massive, unsustainable post WW1 boom, so Spanish Flu just after the war did not seem to have such a negative market effect. But that's not to say that Covid19 won't result in a massive depression.

    Bolsover Cruise Club

Sinbad, you are not the only one with future cruises booked via Bolsover, and quite likely to suffer some sort of financial loss as this situation evolves. But screaming about your personal situation without appearing to care for how others are affected will not endear you to anyone on the forum.

    Never thought Cunard and P&O

They both have a long way to go after losing over 82% of their value.

    Bolsover Cruise Club

You can always wait until P&O announce that your cruise is cancelled, then they are obliged to give you a full refund under the package travel rules.

    Scarlet Lady

Great minds think alike I was just about to ask if Ikea had been involved on the fitting out, give me Celebrity style or even RCI's wow factor or even P&O's homespun comfort. But I doubt I was ever in Virgin's target market, so what do I know.

    P&O Loyalty points disgrace

I imagine that all cruise lines would adopt the same position, loyalty points are always only allocated once the cruise is complete.

Why is the decor all 1970s kitch?

    Diamond princess

To apply foresight you need data, no one had any idea how to react to this outbreak and I doubt that future cruise ship outbreaks would follow the same procedure. With only 70 UK passengers on board compared with the many more US and Australian passengers, the UK was never going to be in the vanguard, and I guess that they were waiting to discharge those quarantined on the wirrall before bringing the DP passengers back. It is so easy to criticise with the benefit of hindsight.

Hindsight is one of the greatest gifts to social media posters.

They seemed more than happy that they were being moved off the ship, even though they will now likely be under tighter quarantine conditions.

I imagine it will undergo a deep clean and sanitizing after this quarantine period ends, before it goes back into service. One thing not mentioned is whether any confirmed cases are crew members.

    New MY P&O CRUISES

Yes the newer ships were the first to get them, Voyager class was later.

    New MY P&O CRUISES

I believe its only just been fully implemented at Southampton in the last couple of years, it had only just been implemented on Navigator when we sailed in 2017.

    New MY P&O CRUISES

We both have the brochure by post ticked for our April cruise, HOWEVER when I e-mailed asking where our brochure was they told me that I had requested to go green and would need to e-mail them to request a change. So go figure out how that works.

    P & O - On line checkin

I assume you're not suggesting that RCI is part of the Carnival group? RCI own Celebrity and Azamara, a major part of Silversea and 50% of TUI cruises and Pullmantur, and if it hadn't been for the greed of the P&O board they might also have owned P&O and Princess cruises.

    P & O - On line checkin

I doubt that sailings from the UK will require ESTAs, and that will be most UK cruisers experience of the on line check in.

    Brexit

I believe the current figures for electors disillusioned with the EU is somewhere around 40%, so it looks as though the UK is not so far out of step with the general population, only with the politicians.

    Brexit

We have cruises booked up to Feb 2022, and I cannot envisage that EU politicians will be stupid enough sabotage their tourist trade by putting in over officious immigration checks, just to put one over on Boris, mind you they did do a number on poor old Cameron, which is why the referendum turned out the way it did. So buckle up and lets enjoy the ride,

Charging IPads & IPhones on Princess Cruise Ships

Most smart phones and tablets will charge up at either 110 or 220v, all you need is an adaptor plug, although newer ships now have USB sockets as well.

    Where is everyone

I use the "Unread Content" feature to see what's happening, so I assume I would see all posts, including any off topic ones, and there seem to be very few new postings at all. However since Bolsover have provided an off topic area then I assume the forum is open for discussions on everything, although all posters will probably have a major interest in cruising.

    Christmas

Our tree is also up, in the loft still, some presents are wrapped, and some cards posted. But our next cruise is not till April 2020.

    ITINERARY CHANGES

That maybe so but you won't find any accessible cabins if you book late.

    ITINERARY CHANGES

Whilst I agree that P&O will be "boosting" their profits, as you put it, by not refunding missed port charges, I would point out to you that P&O prices are a good 10-20% (or maybe even more in some cases) below those charged by Princess, both of which are in the Carnival stable. I think I prefer to let them keep the odd £50 or so for a missed port, rather than see their fares and drink increase to Princess levels.
