Absolutely. Difficult at times to sit back and take the advice of others, however in instances like this its a good idea to take their advice. They are not going to give bad advice as they don't want to lose a customers future bookings.

Sinbad, you are not the only one with future cruises booked via Bolsover, and quite likely to suffer some sort of financial loss as this situation evolves. But screaming about your personal situation without appearing to care for how others are affected  will not endear you to anyone on the forum.

Since Princess is predominantly a US based cruise line and P&O is even more a totally UK based company, then I see no prospect of Carnival merging their operations, and even when Princess was a subsidiary of P&O there was no effort made to merge them.

wow aren't you a dog with a bone Sinbad, cant you just look outside your own little bubble a minute and see what is going on, of course not it doesn't then fit your own agenda.  By the way the story in the independent isn't entirely accurate so don't use that as your bible.   The latest information to come from ABTA and the Government is that the package travel regulations are not changing but being extended for a short while, this will mean that tour and cruise operators , where they have cancelled a holiday, can offer a Refund Credit Note initially rather than a refund, this will only be active until 31 July 2020 when if not used the credit note can be exchanged for cash at that point not in two years.  Shouldn't really believe fake news. And I agree with Wshutt above that it is very unfair to blame Bolsover Cruise Club, they don't make up the rules just pass them on.  We need to pull together as a country through this and think of the bigger picture.

If there is a high chance of Carnival Corp going under, then there is a pretty good chance of most cruise lines going under.  Not impossible but unlikely imho...  Then of course there is all the land-based tour operators and airlines...  Then of course all the cafes, restaurants, bars etc.  I am sure governments will come up with some sort of strategy to help the world through the massive depression ahead.

Great minds think alike I was just about to ask if Ikea had been involved on the fitting out, give me Celebrity style or even RCI's wow factor or even P&O's homespun comfort.  But I doubt I was ever in Virgin's target market, so what do I know.

I imagine that all cruise lines would adopt the same position, loyalty points are always only allocated once the cruise is complete.

I believe the current figures for electors disillusioned with the EU is somewhere around 40%, so it looks as though the UK is not so far out of step with the general population, only with the politicians.

It might be British politicians that are stupid enough to do the damage. Why always blame the EU when it is us that are out of step with the 27 other countries working together?

We have cruises booked up to Feb 2022, and I cannot envisage that EU politicians will be stupid enough sabotage their tourist trade by putting in over officious immigration checks, just to put one over on Boris, mind you they did do a number on poor old Cameron, which is why the referendum turned out the way it did.
So buckle up and lets enjoy the ride,

That's good to know, if we can ever afford Celebrity prices again, maybe once Brexit is sorted Sterling might recover sufficient to make that possible, who knows.

As well as free drinks in the Dianond Lounge RCI also load 3 free drinks per Diamond member onto their cruise card, and they allow you to charge MDR drinks against these.  The only time we did Elite with Celebrity we also had a free drinks package so never needed the Elite drinks, but at the time from reading their terms they seemed more restrictive than RCI.

I once bought a leather belt from a cruise shop, in the sale, and my wife has bought the odd clothing item, also when in the sale and of course at a price we thought could not be bettered ashore.  But in the main we rarely buy, although, like most women, my wife likes to browse.  However if we have lots of OBC then we do sometimes buy perfume to ensure we spend it all, otherwise we look but keep our cruise cards in our pockets.

As conservation and reduction in CO2 emissions becomes the norm, I think that all Northern European cruises will have to sail from northern ports, so you may need to travel if you want to do the fjords or the Baltic, just as us northerners will need to head south for Med and Canary cruises.
Alternatively we might all have to stay at home and put on our VR headsets to go on holiday!!!😉
