P&O Cruises Oriana leaving the fleet

    I agree entirely.
  2. I agree with Davybe. My husband had to be taken into hospital whilst on a cruise at georgous St Kitts. Our insurance was and still is with M&S. They were absolutely fantastic. No problems whatsoever and were extremely helpful. Only downside is when you reach 80 they do not insure you. M&B

    India visa

We were caught out and in a similar situation when we enjoyed a leg of the world cruise on Acadia. We are disembarking at Mumbai to fly home and we're advised quite close to our departure that we needed a visa to get off the ship to go directly to the airport for our flight home! Another problem we also encountered was your passport had to have 12 month or more from its expiry date from the date of your Indian visa. Needless to say we have not bothered to visit India again.
  4. Unfortunately I have seen some passengers (young and old) not washing their hands after using the toilet BUT I have not been "brave enough" to ask the guilty person(s) to do so despite having experienced a very severe "Nora virus" for approx 4 weeks - but a fantastic weight loss programme. I will do for the sake of my fellow passengers.
  5. I agree with you entirely. On a previous cruise (Oriana) we experienced open sitting and it felt like we were in a pub restaurant. one of the most pleasant experiences of cruising is your evening meal with your fellow passengers and catching up and talking about the experiences you have enjoyed during the day. you tend to meet likeminded folk and make New friends. Its what cruising is all about.

    What's it like on Cunard?

Very sorry to hear about your poor experience on Victoria. We have only cruised on the QM2 and whilst it is agreed drinks etc are expensive we have enjoyed the experience on both occasions. P&O prices are more reasonable.

    Adonia cabins

It looks good enough for us!
  9. Must agree about the shows but we enjoy the evening entertainment followed by a brandy! As a point of interest after cruising for over 20 years and quite a few cruises with different cruise lines under our belts on our recent cruise on the Eclipse we actually walked out of a show as did many other folk.
  10. Was on the ship in March and April and could not praise the cruise any higher for cleanliness, food and a fantastic itinary. The crew and staff were very friendly and professional. The only disappointment was one of the Headliners vocalists who was simply not up to the usual standard we have come to expect and enjoy. Still after just arrived back off the Eclipse and comparing their on board shows they were still very entertaining. Must say the Oriana is my favourite P&O ship. Would highly recommend the ship. Go for it - the friendliness and camaraderie amongst her passengers is great. Have a good holiday!
  11. What's Brexit for to do with it. Am I missing a point?
  12. Agree entirely. If people prefer to dress casually each evening then they should choose a cruise where this dress code is applicable and folk who like the old ambiance of formal evenings go on a cruise where formal wear is applicable. Problem solved!
  13. How wonderful. You are so lucky to be able to this. B&M hope you have a fantastic cruise. Its so very very nice th know some younger cruisers are wanting to embrace the true meaning and enjoyment of cruising!
  14. It's very nice to know that some people still enjoy dressing for dinner. In a recent cruise on theOriana it appeared quite a few ladies still wore cocktail dresses and the gentlemen shirt and jacket.
