Late Departures In America.

On these cold dreary winter nights I like nothing more than to get a bottle of qaulity beer don my anorack and watch ships vtia webcams.

I have never sailed from America,I am sure the vast majority of you have,but what I cant understand is why the ships never leave at the time that they are supposed to. 

Sometimes by the time they have left Manhattan and have reached my watching point overlooking the Statue of Liberty I am tiddly.

I'd say it sounds as though it is  just a winter phenomenon. 

 

We departed late on my Queen Mary 2 crossing in November though that was due to a number of passenger delays.

 

Obviously after dusk New York takes on a different aspect...

and of course just can't compete with a summer time sailaway...
