Electronic Smoking

Recommended Posts

No way will cruise lines stop smoking. They would loose a large number of passengers. Onlyallow smoking on a small area of a deck not a whole deck like p and o does. That stupid

Just to put the record straight P&O do not give a whole deck to smokers they only permit smoking on one side of a whole deck.

With smoke blowing across, it may be better if they allocated a whole deck for smoking and banned it from the rest. Certainly it should not be allowed close to open decks close to where food is served.

Thing is Captain it's a no win scenario for smokers, give them a lower deck and people will complain that the smoke if drifting to the upper decks.

The only solution is to ban it completely, but to be honest with approximately 22% of the British public still smoking and more so in Europe, they are not going to ban it anytime soon in my opinion.

Agree with you again HLM. Although it is a frustrating issue for me, a non-smoker, I'm sure the same applies for smokers. There is no way cruise lines are going to take the decision to ban smoking ship wide. They would lose far to much income in doing so. It is here to stay for the foreseeable future. All that needs to be done is continue to maintain a healthy compromise from both sides. Dedicated areas for smoking are fine by me. Inside smoking in popular areas on board is not. Surely that is an understandable and logical compromise. I think many cruise lines have it right at the moment but there are many that don't. I would like to see it become a universally applied ruling but again, I doubt very much that will happen anytime soon.

I agree that on balance cruise lines have it just about right, small designated areas for those who wish to smoke, but inside smoking a definite no, no especially in the casino!!!!!!!!!!!
