When Is The Best Time To Go Cruising In The Far East

2 posts in this topic

We would love to go cruising to the Far East and would really like to know if there is a good time of the year to visit this area to get the most out of it and any other information that might be useful to help with our planning.

Good afternoon Captain.

Cruising around the Far East is an amazing experience and I cannot blame you for your desire to cruise in that part of the world.

I think the UK World Cruise timetables get it perfectly right, which is January to April. Otherwise October to December. Both periods avoid the monsoon and rainy seasons.

I well remember on one of Aurora's world cruises calling into Manila. Being a retired Military man we took the ship's excursion to Coregidor...

Had it rained that day I would not have been amused.

Similarly when visiting Hanoi on another occasion...

Another reason why my Far East scuba trips are always in April/May. Once the rainy season sets in the water visibility becomes considerably impaired.

Hope that helps.
