Norway- July 2016- weather and spending ashore.

Recommended Posts

We are going on a Noreweigan Fjords cruise next month.

We've been looking at the weather online and are unsure exactly what clothing to take.

I am prepared for rain but do we need shorts, swimwear, sandals ?

Also how expensive is it and any suggestions as to typical prices for coffee, cup of tea, soft drink, a glass of wine/beer??

Thank you in advance.

My daughter was there two weeks ago and she said it was sunbathing weather all the time in Norway. However, like the UK, the weather is unpredictable so you need to be prepared for anything.

We have been to Norway twice, both times at the end of June, and each time the weather was brilliant. However this cannot be guaranteed so you will need waterproofs and jumpers just in case.

We have just returned from Norway where the weather was fantastic. The captain made an announcement on the last day to say he had been doing this cruise for 18 years and it was the best weather he had ever had.

WE took Krona which we used for coffees etc. The average price of a coffee was 50 Kroner for 2, about the same price we would pay in the UK. They do take euros and sterling on the hop on hop off buses also in some of the shops.

Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did.

Alcohol can be very expensive in Norway and there cost of living is a lot higher than ours, the exchange rate is a bit higher than it has been in previous years so this may help a little, with regarding to packing easy think Britain and pack for all weathers!!

We went in July last year and had the full run of weather.....glorious hot sunshine, rain, cold and gloomy, misty. So take layers is my advice and be prepared for anything!

We went into a bar in Tromso a had 4 small beers and two packets of crisps.....£40 give or take a few pence! Ouch!

Have been to Norway many times and As others have said the weather can be very nice in summertime but take clothes you would take for a British summer holiday . Sometimes showers are never far away .

Take Norwegian Krona for coffees .
