Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 embarks on her second annual Transatlantic Fashion Week voyage sailing from Southampton to New York today. For the second year running, Queen Mary 2’s Transatlantic Fashion Week cruise will bring together some of the most reputable names in the fashion industry including Julien Macdonald OBE, Colin McDowell MBE, Karl Dunkley, Gail Sackloff OBE and Parsons School of Design. Runway shows, inspiring talks, glamourous dinners and exclusive unveilings will all be hosted on the luxury liner. After the huge success of Cruising with Jane McDonald earlier this year, the cruising legend is back for series two where she is set to explore more ships and exotic destinations. The four-part show airs on Channel 5 on Friday 1 September, but viewers who are waiting to see Jane on board MSC Cruises will have to wait until the 8 September for this episode to air. The second series will see Jane set sail for a second time with MSC Cruises on board MSC Meraviglia, with the presenter previosuly visiting MSC Divina in series one. Holland America Line are introducing a Chocolate Surprise parade on the last gala evening of every cruise. Guests on board no longer have to make their way to the buffet and wait in line for a sweet treat as Chocolate Surprise will bring bite-sized treats to guests in the main public areas as they enjoy the evening’s entertainment. Waiters will parade through the Promenade decks after dinner with trays full of chocolate desserts, passing them out to guests in the bars and lounges. Crystal Air Cruises has welcomed its newest aircraft, Crystal Skye, to its expanding fleet. During a brief handover ceremony in Seattle, Washington, Crystal officially took ownership of the Boeing 777-200LR – the largest privately-owned tour jet in the world. Crystal Skye is designed to accommodate up to 88 guests and has a non-stop travel range of 19.5 hours. Crystal Skye will represent a new standard of chartered aviation, with copious personal space, high-tech amenities and bespoke experiences. It also includes seats which convert to 180 degree lie-flat beds, plus a social lounge, bar and on board chef. The aircraft will be christened in Las Vegas on August 12. P&O Cruises and Cunard will conduct same sex weddings at sea, with the first ceremony to be held on P&O Cruises Azura in the Caribbean in January 2018. The announcement comes after the recent Supreme Court ruling enabling same sex marriages in Bermuda. All of P&O Cruises’ ships (except Britannia) and Cunard’s ships are registered in Bermuda. P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, says: “I am delighted that following this much anticipated change in the legalities we are now the first British cruise line to be able to arrange same sex weddings on board.
